BACKGROUND

Madame Gamgee, a spritely wolf-kin and the bastard daughter of an Earl and a tavern wench.

Raised by her drunken but loving mother, Gamgee spent much of her childhood in the back streets and muddy fields of her hometown's outskirts. Inherently good-natured from a very young age, she was amenable to a fault, which led to her falling in with some questionable folk. Ever-cheery and eager to make others smile, Gamgee always tries to see the good in everyone - thieves, vandals, pirates, and drunkards included - perhaps even when there is none. To many who know her, she is a beacon of positive attitude, though her actions, methods and logic are often lacking in both decorum and lawfulness - she'd just as likely punch you as buy you a drink, depending on her judge of your character, and has been no stranger to backyard brawling in the name of "doing what's right".

Upon coming of age, Gamgee left her whole life - mother, friends, town, everything - behind, and set off into the wilds of Arboreus with almost no explanation, and nothing but a pack of food and her crude, homemade slingshot to her name. Though the reason for her sudden departure was largely a mystery to her kin, her mother did recall Gamgee's recent fascination with the tales of 'Second Settlers', groups of wildfolk who had left life as they knew it behind and made for the vast, open terrain to begin forming settlements within the wilderness.

Since then, Gamgee has been seen grafting for coin in the outer villages, usually working as a Beast Tamer, Livestock Handler, or Stable Keep, and is seldom in once place for long. A natural at working with animals, with a knack for traversing all manner of terrains and an unwavering grin, she never struggled for work. That said, Gamgee's dream was a little closer to an indoor vocation, and saw her hold literary and academic folk in very high esteem. Her passion was history. Or, more specifically, the idea of curating an entire written and illustrated history of the known world - across every planet, to the Fracture itself, and beyond.
