Hey everyone, Duncan here, and in today’s update, we’ll walk through the foundational upgrades, highlight key creative developments like character and armor customization, and respond to some of the most pressing questions from the community.

Key Highlights:
- Backend Migration to Coherence: The old backend was outdated and insecure, so we’ve been working on a migration to Coherence, which is going faster than expected.
- World Streaming System: We’ve implemented a more granular system that loads only the assets you need nearby, reducing performance load, instead of loading larger portions of the world.
- Benchmarking & Optimization Scene: We have a dedicated testing environment that will allow us to evaluate models, textures, and performance benchmarks in real-time. The performance gains already show promise!

- We also showed this video that included both old and new environment textures, so you can see some things you are familiar with that need to be updated but also see some of the improvements on the grass, ground and road textures.
Character & Armor Customization Revamp
We are rebuilding the character system from the ground up to offer more flexibility and fidelity.
- New Modular Character System: Individual body parts (e.g., right forearm, left shoulder) can now support partial body & arm partial armor.
- Improved Coloring System: Revamped dye and coloration system options are being reviewed, to give better quality colors and more options. We will share more details as we progress with this!
Kickstarter Armor Concept Art
We have completed the concept art phase for the core armor sets. If you can remember way back these armors were from the original kickstarter that began Fractured Online.
- Warlord Armor – Brutal, asymmetric, and fan-favorite.
- High Druid Armor – Nature-themed with bones and hides.
- Duke & King Armors – Classic knight in shining armor.
- Soul Armor – Designed with ethereal, animated elements.
- Tyrant Armor – Raw, jagged, and color-rich.
Each set supports our vision for style diversity originally intended for the Kickstarter tiers.
Community Q&A Highlights
We gathered some of the most frequently upvoted and discussed questions from Discord, Reddit, and emails.
Crafting and Professions
- Question: Do you also think about making changes to the way crafting works in general, so that it becomes more fluid and can become a truly stimulating market for players, and also if we will have a progression of having better refinement skills and chances as we improve and build items?
- Answer: Crafting will be changing, including more depth, and more recipes.
- Question: Will houses also be redesigned in terms of building objects to make items, such as furnaces, leather tables, etc.?
- Answer: Decor and housing items are being redesigned
- Question: Do you also think about the possibility of having plantations and crops so that we can sell these items for professions such as cooking, alchemy, etc.?
- Answer: Yes, personal farming vs larger scale farming will have a place in professions like cooking but no details on this.
Servers and Localization
- Question: Is regionalization in languages something you plan on doing, and how do you think about the servers?
- Answer: No additional languages are planned at this time
- Question: Will they be regionalized US, SA, EU, or will there be a single global server?
- Answer: Yes we are currently planning to regionalize the servers, though likely only 3 (US,EU,Asia)
Gameplay Mechanics and Itemization
- Question: Regarding the status, will these be random or fixed, for example: cloth can only give intelligence and resistance to magic (fixed), or can there be a chance of any random status?
- Answer: We are working on those detailed but imbuing will play a big role going forward
Trade and Transportation
- Question: The idea of transporting items by caravan and also trading between cities is something that has been thought of, and if there were also other mounts to help in other activities?
- Answer: We have been discussing a different traveling system (think wagon or mounts) to support adventuring, trading, and other progression systems.
- Question: Albion, Warborne, and other games restrict trading between players in really annoying ways to make RMT harder, but never stops it and they end up just making the game more annoying. Please say that fractured will continue allowing direct trades and such.
- Answer: Yes Fractured will keep the trading and we will build systems to prevent RMT
