Shutdown & Relaunch Plans

Hey everyone, Duncan here, today I am bringing one of the harder but most exciting bits of news. Today we are announcing the shutdown of the current version of Fractured Online. Those words are crazy to read but a necessary to relaunch the game in a better state.

We’ve been hard at work redesigning and rebuilding the game from the ground up. Below is a quick summary of our announcement video (link)

Key things to know

• We are rebuilding the Fracutred Online branding, including website updates, discord changes and social media management.
• The current version of Fractured Online will shut down on June 15, 2025.
• Founder packs and In game purchases will be disabled shortly after this announcement.
• You can still log in and play until the shutdown date (June 15, 2025).
• The forums will be shutdown to focus efforts on our socials and Discord

Relaunch & Testing Timeline

• Q3 2025: Community Testing Begins, We will have many small tests and probably multiple of the same tests to hone in on the right balance, feel or design.
• Q1 2026: Full Relaunch on a brand-new Steam page

Why a Relaunch?

Fractured Online is being rebuilt for a better, and more modern, player experience. There are two main reasons for the full relaunch:

• Old Networking Tech: The networking technology used in the past is very outdated and insecure. We have been migrating to Coherence, a modern, supported backend that allows us to build and scale our game with the relaunch.
• Major Game System Overhauls: We’re revamping the entire game experience from character progression and PvP, archetypes, combat mechanics, and visual fidelity. These changes aren’t compatible with the current version of Fractured Online.

What Happens to My Account, VIP, and Kickstarter Rewards?

• If you’ve purchased founder packs you will keep the equivalent in the relaunch
• VIP time will carry over and begin fresh at relaunch.
• Store tokens will remain in your account.
• Kickstarter rewards are being still being reviewed, and some are already being developed, including armor sets that never previously existed.

We’re committed to building trust by delivering on long-standing promises. As a player who grew up playing mmorpgs, my focus is to be the dev team that I always wanted. A dev team which builds on transparency and with the community.
