Hey everyone, Duncan here at Happy Cauldron Games. We collected questions from the community around various topics. Some areas we will share more details in dedicated sessions and you can also join us on Youtube to watch the latest developer updates in our march towards the tests.

Monetization & Tokens
Q: Will players have a way to use their in-game efforts to buy VIP or cosmetics without having to spend real money? (Like having the game buy gold from the player and give tokens at some set rate, thus not involving players directly.)
- A: Currently, there are no plans to have this. Monetization is a touchy subject overall these days, and it is still being decided internally.
In my opinion, the best design is one where real money never touches the game. The next best is cosmetics only, without any trading from the shop into the game.
Gear Durability & Market Systems
Q: What’s the envisioned system for phasing items out? Right now, the game has a durability countdown on items with limited repair capabilities. Will that be kept, or is the team looking at different solutions to avoid market saturation?
- A: This is a great question, and we have not made the final decision on that yet. We have this as part of the crafting design update coming soon.
UI & Visual Features
Q: It’s 2025, can we zoom out?
- A: It’s an option on the table. We will be exploring camera adjustments in testing, with feedback.
World & Environment
Q: Will biomes influence gameplay mechanics (e.g., survival, movement, gear requirements)?
- A: We do plan to have biomes impact characters, but not in the current relaunch plans.
Q: Are you planning fast travel or teleportation systems, and how will they impact exploration?
- A: No, not at the moment. We would rather enable players to spend time on a multi-session journey, instead of creating the feeling that they can only adventure if they have enough time to travel back.
Arena & Control Systems
Q: Is there any vision of a PvP arena in the revamp?
- A: We plan to have solo duels & party duels for the relaunch. Post-relaunch, yes arenas are planned.
Q: Are action-based mechanics (like active dodge) being expanded to other areas of combat?
- A: We are planning to explore having a dodge mechanic relevant to your archetype, to allow for skillful dodging, but it will not serve as a travel mechanism.
Housing
Q: Will there be instanced housing or only open-world building?
- A: Both. We need instanced housing to support the target player count. The new way of claiming larger land plots means there will be less housing space. Another reason is that not all players want to build a house and just need a place for minimal management.
Faction Warfare
Q: Why factions and not the previous guild & alliance system?
- A: The three main ways we plan to support PvP for relaunch are Dueling, Guild Wars, and Faction Warfare. We will share more information on this design in the coming months.
Q: How will you balance factions?
- A: We have a few options to maintain population balance that we will explore during testing. Some of these include join restrictions, buffs, reward bonuses, and a few others.
Environment Update
Q: The previous environment had much more foliage, will we see the teased environment update be expanded on?
- A: Yes, the teased environment update was the bare minimum for us to agree on a style. Currently our environment artist is hard at work fully fleshing out the biome in all of its glory! We will share these images out in socials and future developer updates.
Testing
Q: You had mentioned Q3 on the first player tests but what is the goal to test?
- A: We currently have a few phases of testing already planned, the first being Combat & Networking.
