    • RE: Player generated quests (work orders)

Hi Annatar, welcome to Fractured !

I love the idea, so far I only know of that you can build together on projects, but that would be limited to people you know and/or without such incentives.

Things like this can be a nice addition to the PvE version of "Mercenaries".

You mentioned in that thread how
      @Znirf said in Town Sieges:

The most important things that you will need for in-game progression will be the equipment crafted in the city buildings.

At least so far we can have crafting stations on our hermit plots. Will these be removed? Will there be more advanced advanced crafting stations (or with certain bonuses, such as return rate in Albion) in towns? Do you guys already have a vision about these things?

A blacksmith for example will be something that needs the effort of several people in town to create. I assume more of those buildings will be created by the time we become live. Hermits will be able to produce the bare necessities to survive (basic weapons, food, armour, like it is now in alpha on your own plot) but will have to visit a town or trade for better stuff like metal weapons and armour.

    • RE: Houses in the wilderness

@Gothix said in Houses in the wilderness:

Sure, but then, wilderness should only contain "raw materials", that you need to process to get the better quality materials. And then best quality processing should only exist in cities. So therefore, most houses in cities would require less maintenance.

Making the better materials itself will cost more money/time/effort I assume, so combining the building effort and making the better quality materials also for maintenance, I think overall it will not make that much of a difference.

@Farlander said in Houses in the wilderness:

Maintenance should not be to the point that you feel like you are playing to keep your house.

You can see it like a weekly quest, where you have to gather some mats and repair. It's not more than that (based on information that far)

@Xzoviac As there are no town plots yet, it's just a way of giving people a house plot during the test stages.

@Razvan said in Is Fractured going to be as grindy as say Wurm On-line?:

House building tedious? At least in the current version it takes about 2 hours to build one..

      I totally agree with you.

That is about 8 Fortnite matches, 12 - 20 youtube video's, 4 time the average snapchat use.........

Attention span has been declining and goes even worse I fear, Spending 2 hours in a raid was nothing, now people call building a house grinding ??? What is next, fighting a boss for more than 10 minutes is also a grind ?

      Grinding does not equal effort.

    • RE: Ocean Exploration?

The ability to explore (gathering ?) in an ocean-like environment would indeed be adding something to the whole game experience.

First by crafting a small raft, then maybe bigger ships, but where to go to? The other races are on a different planet. So please no space ships! πŸ™‚

An underground area where you could settle, wouldn't that be just a darker variation of living above ground? Who would like to live there without the sun on your face? Unless we get a Mole, Goblin and/or dwarven race πŸ™‚

Underground mining, on the other hand, would make sense though to me, maybe with some larger mobs living there and protecting the resources.

    • RE: Knowledge System Account Wide

@Jetah said in Knowledge System Account Wide:

I'm actually less inclined to explore if I'm only limited to 30 minutes on the fury planet. Only because it'd take so many invasions to get a good amount of knowledge to unlock stuff there. Then there's the, and I'm assuming here, randomness of where you'll spawn during an invasion. So as you gain knowledge on the fury planet your likelihood of spawning in a place you need becomes less. example: lets say fury planet has 100 spawn/invasion points. when you get to about 75-85 of 100 the remaining amounts become harder to get. If I need one of those last 25-15 spawn spots then I will get give up because I know the odds are against me.

I am sure there will be other people who don't want to put the effort to get that last part of knowledge. But with the exploration also comes skills you can unlock by killing specific species on those planets and gathering resources unique to those planets.

The first I expect to be reward enough for pvp minded players and the resources will be great for craftsmen and trading minded players. And those resources will also be needed for enchanting and armour which is interesting for everyone.

The difference between supply and demand would become obsolete if it was simple to go everywhere you want/need, so making it a challenge is a good thing imho

but we're assuming that knowledge is static. unless it's a random chance from killing mobs or something then people will note how they got their knowledge and it'll be easier than "omg how do i get this specific knowledge..

So far you get knowledge points from killing certain amounts of every npc/animal in-game and the first time you gather a resource. These knowledge points can be exchanged for skills who you unlock by killing those npc/animals.

      No need to assume.

Means, if you chose Beastmen you will not be able this way to make a Demon, since the Demon is bound on the Home of the Main Character.

You will be able to make one house on every planet. For the rest, I totally agree with you

    • RE: Knowledge System Account Wide

@Farlander said in Knowledge System Account Wide:

I realize that having the knowledge system account wide circumvents some of the ideas that it will be harder when your character is the opposite alignment when traveling opposed lands. With that said SWTOR had a legacy system similar where you obtained achievements that worked account wide. There is really is no advantage to any one character obtaining all the knowledge of every character it just saves time from having to redo the many things you already did on one character to get those knowledge bonuses.

Anyway that's my two cents on this topic πŸ™‚

As the development of your character is based on the knowledge system and there are no quests in this game, you basically asking to just be able to create a character at "max" level then. With all the skills available and as far as I understand, the talents (for example +3 to Intellect earned in the knowledge system) you choose on your first character, so those needs to be able to reset as well, as most likely you might want +3 strength as for an example.

Even fishing and crafting will give you nothing else then resources and no more knowledge. The gameplay will then only be gathering resources and PvP (and "limited" PvE dungeon, not sure how big and challenging this one is going to be).

I do understand the idea of not having to repeat certain things, but this takes away much core features out of gameplay and quite boring imho

    • RE: Give us Attribute Resets please

@Razvan said in Give us Attribute Resets please:

As Jetah said, the racial bonuses only restrict some min-max combinations. It's not like I can't make a balanced viable spear mdps deer-kin if I wish so.

PS: Is there any information if the racial bonuses are applied before or after picking stats in the character creation screen?

As far as I have understand it (there are no beastmen and demons yet) we are not getting a bonus, but the maximum cap on certain attributes will be higher or lower. So at the end the combination of attributes distribution at the start of your character and the extra you can get from knowledge and/or gear (if that will still be a thing) give you the possibility to become stronger in certain attributes depending on your sub-race. And on the other hand will weak you in some other areas.

With perception only at 15 in my staff build for this test wolf head and wolf teeth necklace my crits were pretty impressive. probably will switch it to 18 for next test if cap numbers are still the same since accuracy is most important thing with melee build. Think the devs posted somewhere that luck will help with crits also just cant find where i read that.
