@Farlander said in When will it be released?:
Not soon enough lol.
βA wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.β
That is why I still like FF14 and WoW B2P + subscription, but everything is available for everyone at a fair price.
I see no point in bigger guilds > 100-150 people.
Okay, people are in the same group. But will hardly know each other or play with each other, with the exception of Guild vs Guild Siege.
If that is 20 vs 20 or 50 vs 50 or 100 vs 100 makes the fun not bigger. So no point in making Guilds of 300 or even more IMHO.

The game will be A LOT more grindy than most people on the forums assume or it will fail within a couple of month after release because... what will people on Arboreus do after they unlock almost everything in the first 1-2 weeks? What will keep people pve-ing long term?
Enjoy the sunshine, have some
tailstales around the fireplace (RP) and kick the shit out of those invaders if the time has come. Besides that we have the dungeons, fishing, maybe become an abomination. And unlock 400 * 3 levels of skill in 1-2 weeks ?
Not everyone is a completionist and if your gamble is that RP will keep people playing, you appeal to a very niche kind of player from a genre that is almost a niche itself.
We RP-ers let you crazy PvP people pay for the game :).
On a serious note, of course, is that (RP) for a small percentage of the population of the game, that is why I mentioned the other stuff.
But you also have to keep in mind that there are a lot of (older) players who can (on average) spend max 2 hours a day (besides maybe weekends and holidays) on gaming. We have the patience to enjoy the game as it comes.
Rushing through content is no option, nor wanted. If Invasions will be a daily event (we don't know yet, and how time-consuming will they be, can I avoid them or not, so many questions) I will never come to a point that I can say: "Kill me now, I have seen it all"

Didn't we reach a conclusion that it would not be hordes of pets? Where each summoned pet takes away from a counter of some kind, similar to attacks taking energy and whatnot? Or was that another game, everything I follow gets muddied together. Especially when one sits on the backburner haha
You can have 1 cosmetic pet, and a maximum of 3 combat pets if you have your charisma at max level.
@Jetah said in How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?:
stating that someone will do physical harm to your family isn't allowable under most TOS. the great companies will actually press charges or pass the threat over to the police and let them handle it.
What kind of games did you play? Psychopath XI, the road to insanity?
@Xzoviac said in How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?:
I think personal threats are fine too unless doxx related
People will say they are gonna kill each other so on, on the regular
Cant get a gm involved everytime a player chimps out because you stole their boss
If someone is going ott in the abuse block em and move on or use the in game systems to pk/punish them
So basically, those things would be not acceptable in real life ( at least where I live), but fine in a game?
Seriously? I haven't been in PvP related games, but if this is the "standard" now. Those kids need a nose brain job or get out more often.

that sounds good on paper until you have 50 guildies that need gear so you all/some head out to a spot to get materials.Yeah, that why I am playing PvE so I don't have to waste my playtime on replacing my gear all the time and fighting of morons who's only pleasure in life is beating other players most likely below their level/gear etc
sounds boring though.
Real Life and Work gives me enough adrenaline and "killing" to settle for an easy life in my spare free time

I am pointing out the possibility of a frustrating flaw in the idea of Arboreus. I'm not saying they should think of a solution now, but there should be a way to dispute farming spots at release (and preferably that solution could be implemented and tested prior to that).
If I recall correctly, not having to farm, but exploration is a core feature of this game (it's called grinding, but still, same idea not no need to stay in one spot for a longer time, is the idea))
@Razvan said in Enough attackers / defenders during eclipses:
Anyway, I'm not so much concerned about invasions - if there are too many demons, they will probably fight each other as well instead of all allying and fighting human. The thing I'm most concerned about is the economy - on the demon planet things will be expensive since it's full loot PVP (and they will probably add a trash-system to help crafters), while on the furries planet things will eventually become dirt cheap. Even if items will somehow be lost in the furries planet (items getting destroyed once they lose durability or whatever system), the mats will still be very cheap because it's safe to gather them.
For "BiS" gear (if there ever will be something like that, let's say more "specific" gear made for "specific" circumstances/fights) I still expect that you will need mats from all 3 planets. So if I stay with my beast-man on Arboreus. I need someone else to gather those mats for me, which should make it also a more rare/expensive material.

It has been stated, that Primitive weapons will have damage about 20% lower than metal ones. But as game is supposed to have horizontal progress, is there anything to compensate this ?
Will primitive weapons be, for example, better for enchant (stronger enchant bonuses) or will they be more customizable ? Or will we never ever see any flint dagger two days after game release when everyone will have metal weapons? Would be sad, as "primal feeling" of primitive weapons and clothing - heads of monsters as helmets - is nice. LetΒ΄s hope we can at least use them as skin.
Only thing I know, is that for metal weapons, there should be a town and that town needs a blacksmith facility, what will take some serious effort as far as I have understood so far (it was in one of the video's if I recall correctly).
But yeah after a while even starting player would have direct access to metal one then, so not sure what the purpose of primitive weapons will be, besides for the journey from starting point to next town.
@Razvan said in Player generated quests (work orders):
fast travel: If my daily gameplay time is about 3 hours, I'd rather not waste 30min of it on traveling. Teleportation can coexist with travels being risky due to the fact that you can't teleport with items on you.
markets: Half of the game is full loot pvp. If you die, you need to find someone who sells the items you're using which can become quite frustrating until you are rich enough to buy them in bulk. I really see no disadvantages of local marketplaces / auction houses.
I totally understand that. It would be a lot more difficult for people who indeed need new gear every 10 minutes or so
It just add some nice gameplay for those not focussing on killing other players for fun (like myself). Let's see how things pan out in reality.
@Razvan said in Player generated quests (work orders):
@Yitra The problem with removing these features is that the players end up spending a lot of time on boring activities. Traveling is interesting the first time you visit a region, but walking 30min every time you want to farm is not so fun. Same with trading. Besides, there are well thought limitations on these systems - the markets are local and you can't teleport while carrying stuff in your inventory.
If travelling is a risk itself (as it was in Worlds Adrift by going through walls), it does not have to be boring. Besides the PvP aspect, the possibilities fractured have with the environment (heat, cold, sand storm ?) could make travelling alone not boring, but a challenge. Trading being boring is a personal matter IMHO. I am not saying everybody should like that
The combination of the risk of delivering goods and manual trading makes for interesting gameplay, people can specialize in. So it still is there for those who don't want to spend time travelling and trading, but it is there without a whole system.
While I do understand the preference of most people in a game for easy trading by auction houses, items by mail, fast travelling etc. I would like to share what happened in the last game I played: Worlds Adrift.
There was no auction house, no item mail and travelling to other zones was kind of risky as there were elemental walls which could make you lose your ship and all items on it.
There was an older lady who started a trading post (protected by several players/guild) as it was in an open PvP environment. Just by using Discord as a way to show the merchandise and let people negotiate possible transports as well.
The game had 3 commodities: high-end materials to build your ship with, clothing to show off and fuel. Fuel became the currency for this economy. Several people stepped in for protection and regular transport through the walls.
As I do know this game will not be the same. I still very much like it a lot more than an anonymous auction house. I sincerely hope I can become part of a similar system in Fractured !
Are humans not considered monsters in the eye of nature ?
