    • RE: Considering Character stats

      I got that from here

Perception is a measure of the accuracy and observation skills of a character, determining its chances to score critical hits and the damage they do, its accuracy rating, its ability to instinctively identify items, to spot hidden creatures, traps and treasures and to find valuable resources while gathering.

Reaching a Perception score of 20 gives the character a significant boost to its accuracy rating.

Although Dexterity also refers to accuracy

Dexterity is a measure of the speed, nimbleness, stealth and sleight of hands of your character, determining its accuracy and evasion ratings, the cooldowns of combat-related and mobility-based abilities, the chance to inflict critical hits

Next alpha might give us the opportunity to test this.

@Gothix Making a scene in a diner is a little bit different than in forums. In restaurant that would be a really annoying, but here it is more like "whatever". πŸ˜‰

People will think twice before making a scene in a diner, on a forum not so much. The anonymity makes it a lot easier, and not in a good way.

    • RE: Dang the roadmap gets me all giddy

@Tuoni said in Dang the roadmap gets me all giddy:

I doubt that players can run towns by themselfs. It can easily be behind timewall what it comes for building and maintenance even there won't be other restrictions. Moreover, you can not progress from hamlet state for town without having several players settled on same town area.

"When a town area has been cleared of the creatures infesting it, any player can place the foundations of a house in one of the few dedicated lots of land in the area. Once at least one house has been fully built, a hamlet – and a citizen! – are born. A hamlet has no rulers and no rules. As we’ve just said, anyone who can settle on a planet can add his own house to a hamlet on that planet. No specialized structured can be built in it – only residential buildings. If all the citizens of a hamlet leave the settlement or let their homes decay, the area becomes a haunted place once again. If, on the opposite, a hamlet grows large enough, any citizen can present himself as a candidate for the role of Governor. Once the elections take place and a winner emerges, the hamlet can finally transition to a full-fledged town."

However, the key point is this: "hamlet grows large enough"

How much is large enough..? πŸ€”

It was already made clear that you can only have 1 plot per planet per account, so building and maintaining a town by yourself is therefore not possible (unless you will buy so many copies of the game that you can build enough to have one town of your own, but that just plain nuts)

and don't get stat boosts in character creation

What do you mean by that, Beastkin and Demons can have higher points in some stats than 18 (and lower in some others), but on the other hand, they can only distribute 100 points, where humans have 120 points to spend. It's not that they have a free boost, it comes with a price.

@Yitra Getting to 21 in attribute during creation will only cost you 27 points as beastman or demon, not 42. Thats imo what Gothix talking about. Still it looks balanced to me.

Right, good thing my holiday starts tomorrow, I am very much in need of some it seems!

Mea Culpa @Gothix I didn't read the news correctly!

That said, how would you handle 'races'? Since people here seem to despite the consequences of the initial choice on attributes for their gameplay, it would appear that shouldn't be much different for their choice of race (since it has an equal effect on attributes and hence gameplay)?

I think we should add a "save game" option as well, so if we make a mistake we can roll back and try again! πŸ˜‚ 😜

    • RE: How big should guilds allowed to be?

I see no point in bigger guilds > 100-150 people.

Okay, people are in the same group. But will hardly know each other or play with each other, with the exception of Guild vs Guild Siege.

If that is 20 vs 20 or 50 vs 50 or 100 vs 100 makes the fun not bigger. So no point in making Guilds of 300 or even more IMHO.

    • RE: Non Game Breaking Ideas For the Competitive Amongst Us

@Greenfire your post does meet the 2 most important conditions where most of the player base would agree on:

      1. It doesn't break game balance (cosmetic only)
      2. Available to everyone who contributes to the goals set

It's up to the Devs if they would include D-gold as a possible reward, although LOTRO, for example, gives already shop gold in smaller amount by completing deeds. So it has been done before and possibly doesn't break the monetisation of the game.

Well thought, I like it !

@humerus said in PvE Planet with PvP:

@Specter So you're saying that there are no special rules for the "invaders" apart from the 30m timer, correct?

It's a bit more than that. From this spotlight: link

"If your character has an Evil alignment and you manage to enter Arboreus, well, now you’re in trouble! The planet itself, pervaded by the primal energy of Elysium, immediately starts fighting to repel you. You become heavily debuffed, and normally pacific creatures turn aggressive against you, seeking you out to rip you apart. Even worse, you are only allowed to stay on Arboreus for half an hour at once, and you are quickly drained of all vital energies if you step into a Good-only area."

    • RE: PvE Planet with PvP

A lot of thoughts of PvP players why the PvE planet should be altered, is it only me who finds that Ironic?

I was going to type a long message of counter-arguments and information already available, but Specter's posts took away the need for that and altering Arboreus as it was only based on speculations.

Although I am a ini mini bit disappointed that most of the people in this discussion have a high foundation score, so all of the information Specter was giving, should have been known by you guys.

Arboreus is a PvE planet for good reasons, have you ever tried to keep your fur clean and in good condition, with all that human and demon blood on you? Not to mention the taste if you have to lick it off you.......

@Tero-Kaze said in Two Handed Melee build:

We do not have Metal weapons, wood and stone make all current weapons. No Swords, Pikes, Halberds, Battle Axes, a bit of perspective is always good.

Although this is true, I am very curious how this will develop in the perspective of horizontal progression.

On one hand, the game advertises that you are battle-ready from day one, "Jump right into the fray from day one. Defeat your enemies through your own skill and cleverness, not equipment or level."

on the other hand, if you start with real starter gear and weapons from wood and stone, and metal weapons would be far better? Time will tell πŸ™‚ for now, we can only share our test results and experiences.

@Prometheus After the initial explanation of Znirf about luck, I just thought to equip a lucky amulet and maybe other equipment with luck on in (if there will be such things) when I would need it for enchanting and crafting.

Your explanation puts luck and thus Charisma in a whole other perspective. All my building plans just flew out of the window, Thanks! 😜 Back to the drawing table!

P.S. Added it to the wiki as well, never crossed my mind, this is my Fractured home πŸ™‚
