      @Prometheus @Znirf @Specter

I'm considering strongly upgrading from Governor to a higher package while they're available. But before I do, I have important questions I need answered before I spend even more money.

      1. The Immortal package promises access to developer forums; I haven't seen these, even though I'm Governor. I saw a post from Prometheus on the forums saying they were slated to be created in mid-April 2019. When will they be created and what kind of access does this entail?
      2. The Aristocrat package promises access to a private monthly Q&A with developers; when will these occur?
      3. The Creator package promises personal direct access to the development team; what does this entail?

Please let me know ASAP. Thanks! 😃

This thread is over a year old lmao
Shlda maybe started a new one.

Stick a post in the question section of discord and tag the gms they will likely respond faster

Development forum dont exist yet it's coming soon

    • RE: What challenges should guild alliances face?

Just wanna put this out there, I like griefing, I think it's part of pvp games, i have solo griefed big guilds before that like to harass people and picked off there shitty low level members, to stop em growing, griefing can be useful physiologic warfare and gorilla tactics forcing people to pk you then use the town guards as your allies, this is all fine.

Using game mechanics against people tricking people in to ganks Is all fine

stealing mobs jumping on drops, scummy (if they are not already your enemy ) but again all fine.

I dont think gms should monitor player behaviour even swearing and abusing, add a chat block function, and add a optional swear filter switch on and off.

The only things that should be moderated are illigal behaviours.
      Scamming, cheating, hacking, duping

@Gothix said in Partnering with humble bundle:

The biggest role of publisher for an indie company is international players support.

Small companies dont have enough resources to, on their own, adapt their game to rules and laws of each specific country, to offer player support to all nationalities and handle all issues that can arise, legal and otherwise.

That's where publisher comes in, with their already developed global network and experience handling finances, laws and global player support in exchange for portion of profits.

Problem are those greedy publishers that additionally want rights to change game and/or its cash shop, to squeeze out over time the most cash from players.

Those developers care not about longevity of the game, they just pick publishing of game after game, do money grab and move to another game when old one fails.

This is why it is CRUCIAL for devs to pick good rep, established publisher if they don't want their game failing to quickly.

Publisher will just move on to another game instantly. What will devs do? Another 4 years of new game development?

Sadly, this is what decent part of developers don't understand well enough.

Thanks for the insight on this relationship between developer and publisher! So, basically, DMS will need the services of a good publisher and should they get a bad one, the game could be severely compromised?

Yeah, Chinese games fall for this trick a lot, they get publishers in the west that want to leech a good game and have poor free 2 play markets , Cherry credits, did this recently with http://cq.sdo.com/web4/list.aspx?cid=6 this game
it made gold drops so little you could not even make enough gold to hunt, you had no choice but to buy gold with RLM. to buy potions.
the international version of this game failed because of this, and has now shutdown

I don't think it's necessary at this point and I don't think it's our place to suggest what publishers they should go with without knowing the internal workings of the company.

As backers of the game , it is our place to suggest things, it dosent mean that Dynamight have to listen

all suggestions are good, if it inspires Dynamight in positive ways.

necessary at the moment or not , one day this information may be useful for them.

      @Xzoviac

that would be cool and all but i used AI more as NPC.

A ai merc group defending objectives they have been hired for by guilds, would be non playable characters, that is why they need AI

@Jetah I believe Dynamight Studios has some private backers , so they may never need to get a publisher, but having them aware of some seemingly non scummy Publishers could be a boon them if they find them selves wanting to have some of the advertising and marketing work load taken of there hands

(...)one group would be escorting 1 wagon(...)

Players or NPCs? It's easy enough with players, there are no additional requirements. But with NPCs, how do you handle the AI? Should the caravan stop or continue during a raid? Do the guards keep locked to the caravan or do they pursue the bandits?
Because if they stay around the caravan, it's easy enough to pick them out from a distance, one by one. If they follow the bandits, you send in one bait, lure them off and then raid the helpless wagons.

the AI depends on how much you spend 😄
if you buy the best geared (call them veterans or something) then they'll stay withing 10m of the caravan. maybe these come standard with better gear but still worse than player crafted.
if you buy the second best they may wonder a little further, say 15-20m away.
the new mercs are easily baited so they'll go even further!

maybe you could buy.. er rent some new mercs and they gain exp if they dont die!
another option could be you outfit them with gear or they use their own (which is worst to equal to bad player created gear). IE if a player has white tier gear as a base then they'll have a mix of gray and white. I only offer this because it's a player economy and crafters need all the means necessary to sell/trade gear.

I'll note that these AI mercs shouldn't drop gear as it could be easily exploited/farmed (if it's their base gear, player crafted gear can be acquisition!)

I like the thought of AI , mercenary groups learning and becoming better at defending objectives the more they are used

    • RE: Idea: fiefdoms on Syndesia

@Gothix said in Idea: fiefdoms on Syndesia:

Perhaps larger the guild, the larger are some taxes that will need to be payed, so growing the guild beyond certain number (where cost curve will start to exponentially rise) will serve as a soft cap on guild size.

      Costs.jpg

As you can see in diagram I have drawn, rise of costs for guild maintenace up to 300 members would be linear, at which point soft cap 1 hits and costs start rise at a slight curve, up to member limit of 400 when cost line just explodes exponentially up to the sky.

No hard limit on number of members, but upward from 300, costs will start to rise more tangible, and upwards from 400 they will become almost unberable, so it will simply be not worth having guild larger than that.

logistic costs of alliance can be done in similar fashion, so size of alliance will also be "limited" in a same fashion.

people will just get around this by making multiple guilds , trading between themselves for free
having 10 of the same guild spelt in different ways

@Gothix Well according to the temtem group at least, Humble bundle are giving them full creative freedom, so seems like a worthy publisher (why i posted it here)

I personally like the company it does a lot of things for charity, and seems to try sell things at better prices then a lot of game selling platforms

could definitely be a publisher to consider

    • Partnering with humble bundle

Another small mmo company I'm backing temtem (pokemon mmo)
Has partnerd its self with humble bundle

      https://www.humblebundle.com/developer

Being a equally small company I considered fractured may be intrested in doing the same

This is what the temtem team has said is there reasoning,

Making a game is an incredibly hard and huge task. There are so many things involved in the process and a team our size can hardly manage to achieve every single of them correctly.

We love developing games, we love to think about and implement new mechanics, we love listening to the community and shaping the game how you want. But there’s so much more involved in the process that is not really developing the game: marketing, contacting distributors, merchandising, reaching out to streamers and sites, talking to platform holders…

That’s why we’ve decided to partner with Humble to publish Temtem.

Partnering with Humble allows us to focus on Temtem’s development while they handle all the other task in which they excel: bring the game to even more platforms, secure more merchandising opportunities or even get physical editions of the game, while also reaching a bigger audience which will benefit the game in the long run.

They’re also fully committed to giving us creative freedom so Temtem will be exactly how we want it to be

i like this idear takeing a mental image of a monster , then being able to draw it later, and the more you observe kill the monster the more info you get about it like weaknesses breeding habbits

players could make and sell there own beasterys ,

could do the same for growing plants and making potions

being able to draw little diagrams and put recipes underneath

Try keep your posts in to one post man

Spamming is against the forum rules

      1. DON'T SPAM

All comments should stay on topic and all threads should be relevant to the section they're posted in. Also, keep in mind that the off-topic section is for discussions unrelated to Fractured, not for spam.

If you want to gain Foundation Points from the Daily Post quest but don't have anything interesting to say, you can however leave a "spammy" post in this thread.

Its cool your excited though I'm sure the devs will enjoy your feedback.

Keep up the good idears (in a single post)
