      @BlackHoke I guess that if you can change who you worship at any moment, they could add a sort of cool-down on faith abilities/powers when you switch, cool-down duration based on your reputation level with the deity, and time spent worshipping it previously.

      Could "atheist" Edit: Wrong word, but the best I could find [a-:without ; theist:god] God not chosen/do not want to choose one - be an option then ? I do not know.

    • RE: Consumable Currency

      (I do not know if what I'll talk about represents the presented situation of the game.)

      @Jetah The problem with a global, even if consumable, currency would be the rise in power of planets with less competitive environment. If equipments/players worn out and you need this money to keep them in the field (an easy way to take money out of the system), then a less hostile environment would put less pressure on the economy, leading to a local inflation. If money is transferable from planets to planets, then this money would have a higher value on more pressured planets.

      A travel fee on this global currency would help in that the tax could be adapted to the quantity of money present in game on each planet in order to balance it. You are rich and wanting to move ? You can, and you'll be almost as rich as you are here, minus a fee. But then the next one to do the same would pay less taxes and then be richer than you because there is less money were you come from, and so on.

      The idea of different items taking the place of a global currency, each of them with a lesser value on their home world, that would help to slow the phenomenon would be a good one in my mind @KairosVal . Bonus point for talking about adding an inventory maximum @FibS , it would limit physically how rich a player could be, how much currency can exists at max, and limit the speed at which the currency would move

      Indeed, it would penalize talented traders, and I know players that love to play with huge amounts of money, but at the same time merchants-travellers would be highly valued leading slowly to the development of people specialised in transport.
      If players do not want time to be a problem to get their item, but still want some level of realism, a limited form of "Trading Post System" could be implemented as a NPC platform for players to exchange with taxes inbuilt.

      I do not know what form it could take...limited to region, planets, universe wide, different section depending on which currency you use ?

    • RE: 💡 Suggestion | Extra Races?

      @fibs
      Me too, but I tried to put data and numbers on it, hoping that if devs had a look at it they would not take the same decision. Some games gave me hope, other not, and your initial comment rang a bell.

      A good thing would be to see blessings and divine spells balanced along other skills in order to keep them in the game and not to become just a gimmick.

    • RE: 💡 Suggestion | Extra Races?

      @FibS
      This difference between Popori gender in TERA is quite symptomatic of a tendency in the gamer population (with regional peculiarities linked to cultural differences, of course).

      A game featuring various races will see a non-equal repartition of players between human, humanoid and non-human characters.

      Guild Wars 2 released a poster after the first year of the game with different statistics pertaining to their game (On this page (Ref 1), this picture).
      This could be considered as a good example: 36% of the players had a human character, 19% a Norn (kind of giant-ish human) and the rest had a clearly non-human characters (3 other races). In the end, 55% of the players chose a human, or a very human-like race if these statistics are to be believed.

      Early statistics in TERA showed a similar bias (Ref 2) with non-human being behind humans and the more human like in terms of avatars. 65.72% of them were human, or elves, or Castanics – the whole race looks like humans with horns.
      Seeing this kind of preferences from the players, I would not be surprised to see that, among the persons that choose Popori, the same bias applies with a majority of female character because of their more human-like features.

      A quick conclusion would lead us to say that this shift in appearance in TERA could be linked with a will from the developers to counter this bias in order to avoid a lake of Popori players.

      But here, I think that your problem is linked to the gender of the character too.

      The development of games is related to the feedback that developers get, and sometimes developers must make choices. A good example would be what happened with Dead or Alive 5, where the feedback they got asked to sexualise female characters (Ref 3).
      Moreover, the video-game industry has a history of female characters that tend to be either very beautiful, with little clothes or sexualised in many cases (80% if Ref 4 is to be trusted). Humans being creatures of habits, we tend to prefer what we know and we apparently like female video-game characters this way. In the case of Popori, we could say that it was achieved by making the females more human.
      More can be seen on this topic here, even if it’s still Wikipedia and references should be checked.

      (Back to the main topic of the thread)
      Most of what was proposed seem to be interesting and I would enjoy seeing consistent races and/or unseen ones. I wonder if centaure-like races would be a good idea ? Quadrupedal avatar are quite rare and variant of them would be quite fun to see.

    • RE: Any kind of story ?

      If they go full sandbox, it will be up to us, players, to set up our own objectives. No story to guide us, or just the bare minimum to introduce the world(s). As @Finland said, these objectives could be aligned with some themes such as discovery, conquest, knowledge, and so on.

      They talked about ‘inhabitable areas’ at the end of their post, which could mean that players could create their own town, which would mean in turn that settling and pioneering are a possibility. If resource management is included, settlements could have more strategic consequences on the region - allowing control, bonuses and whatnot- and maybe environmental ones too. Then, the conquest aspect would be interesting because players would be able to size the hard work of the settlers for their own. Factions would then battle to control buildings, resources and regions.

      If there is a story, the only clues I had would relate it either :
      —With the race background: Conquest for demons – resources are rare on their planet apparently – , cooperation against natural dangers for beastkins and effort not to anger the almighty nature, and
 I don’t have real ideas for humans. A mix of it all with a touch of trade?
      —Or with the fact that the planets are linked and how the races interact, leading to a global story with world bosses or huge events changing the environment permanently.
