@Greenfox Yeah I know this. I just guess, that we are not going to see a trailer for start of A1/T2, but I hope we are going to see in future.

RE: Before A1T2 goes live this summer...
Short trailers or teasers would be a really good marketing boost. Best time for new videos like these are just before start of upcoming test phase. It might be too late for A1/T2, but something like this should be considered with upcoming tests phases, maybe starting from A2/T1 or at latest for B1/T1.

RE: User Generated Content for Tabards/Flags/etc
I would like to add, that custom made logos would suit nicely also to shields, capes and even caparisons of mounts.

I hated the maps in Albion. All really small and tricksy pathing. None of it felt like a big world where I could go anywhere. It felt really really really annoying to get around after the first hour or two.
I have to agree. Almost all layouts of zones are just randomly generated without doing any corrections. You get the feeling that things are just thrown there. This is of course easy solution, but the result also looks like easy made.

Was doing some searching for some topics and found this one. I know it is quite old but still an issue for me. I run more than one computer in my game room from which myself, my wife and my son game from. I'm not savvy on networking as I should be but does this mean that we are not going to be able to play together?
If you all have own accounts and you are playing from different computers, then there should not be any problems to play together at the same time. It is quite basic stuff, that people plays in same local network with same IP-address.
EDIT: So most likely you will be fine.

and what if the game is Dieing because of lack of mechanics/balancing?
Devs should move on and make a new game?If game is "dying" this means the lack of players right?
If there is a lack of players than you don't have the problem your mentioned anymore (guilds with thousands of players). This is why game can not die, due to problem you mentioned, because as soon as player number starts to drop, problem starts resolving itself on its own.
If players are steadily leaving because of unpleased mechanics and balance issues, it can easily lead to shutdown of the game if nothing is done by developers. It is not enough if some mechanics will be balanced after a huge portion of players have already left. Albion is a really good example, it had a sky rocket start and there was a really good amount of players joining the game. Soon after, the numbers started to decrease (reasons mentioned in this thread), and after about 1 year and 9 months Albion Online was in situation where they needed to go for F2P model to save the game from most likely happen shutdown. This is of course just a bandage and now SBI really needs to see effort to maintain at least a decent amount of playerbase to secure the future. They have made a good amount of corrective actions, but there might still be some issues, which might cause steady playerbase reduction.

RE: Stretch Goals

The reason this becomes a topic of ongoing discussion isnβt a way to increase feature creep.. ..Itβs so that people who can afford ongoing funding can realistically provide that funding.. ..I think itβs not only a question of stretch goals but also ongoing funding. So I appreciate the ongoing efforts to talk about possibilities.
These are really good points. Idea of stretch goals is not just add additional features, it is also about secure implementation of important features and collect generally more funds.

We are far too early to claim funding victory here. Let us keep pushing for more!
That is the spirit. Adding reasonable stretch goals with proper planning is the key for success.

Airborne housing as a stretch goal.
Houses that float just a little bit above ground, and have a little teleportation circle drawn on the ground near them, which owner can use, or those that have been granted permission by the owner.
Well this could be part of player housing bonus package.

RE: What albion did wrong- not a bash thread
@Gothix That why it is also crucial that developers finds working economy system during test phases, because after that it is easy to leave rest for the players. SBI in other hand made some wrong choises, which were the reason for messy and broken economy.

(...)Implementing realistic goals which are really wanted/needed from developers behalf are the key here(...)
@Tuoni said in Stretch Goals:
(...)Funding is still going on even KS has ended(...)
Once the game launched, there's still plenty of time (given that the game is hopefully successful) to expand the scope and implement additional features and content. That is how basically every MMORPG in existence progresses over time. That way all the funding can be used for the most crucial goal right now and later down the road there should be enough money (and the option to have stretch goal again) to work on additional requests.
In some cases this is of course true, but it depends a lot of the features too. Some can be easily leave to the backlog and add to the game with post-release expansions. Some features can be important or even crucial to implement before release if they can have impact to the popularity and success of the game. Now if the implemention of these kind of features is unsure because lack of resources, it might be important to create a stretch goal to achieve that milestone. Albion Online needed to left some really important content features for the future expansions, which had negative effects to the game because those were not in the game in time of launch (e.g. guild QoL features).
Stretch goals is not a matter where people should be 100% against or 100% behalf. There is of course no reason to add stretch goals just for the sake of adding things or if those goals are a huge risk to delay the release even more. However, with proper stretch goal planning, developers can minimize the risks, get more really needed funds and/or add important/crucial features to the game.

Stretch goals were for the kickstarter lol.
Not only. A lot of stretch goals have achieved after Kickstarter Campaign and the last one about 10-11 months after that. Funding is still going on even KS has ended. Nothing denys developers to continue stretch goal policy if they consider that would be helpful and needed to reach important goals.
-
RE: Stretch Goals
@Logain With proper planning and gathered data from earlier stretch goals, and there won't be such a thing as feature creep. Implementing realistic goals which are really wanted/needed from developers behalf are the key here. Basic project management stuff.

$210,000 Euro Donation Level: Access To Crafting Outfits. Gain Crafting Bonuses and/or Return Resource Bonuses while Equipping Items such as : Blacksmith's Apron,Hat,Boots, So forth. This can apply to various other crafting classes as well.
Something like this would be cool. Crafting gear and tools would spice up a little bit crafting processes. Maybe some crafting equipment is also needed to craft certain products.
In Albion there is also gathering gear sets for different professions (like miner, quarrier, lumberjack, skinner..). You get some passive bonus gathering stats, gathering abilities and defensive skills, but you will become much weaker in combat. I am not personally a huge fan of gathering gear, but I know that people who like specialize to gathering could be interested.
250,0000 Euro Donation Level: Access to "Wonders" .. Large Unique Buildings which take an Enormous amount of resources which can then be placed in your Cities which give 'various' bonuses/benefits or unlocks certain crafting tiers.
This sounds interesting idea. It could be a long project which needs a lot of effort from the whole guild and/or citizens of that city.

RE: Human er, taming
Companions or pets like squires or minstrels would be nice. Maybe squire could actually carry some extra gear pieces for you and minstrel can play different songs. I remember how squire was my most used companion in WoW. Jester would be kind of nice too with different set of tricks and plays.

"Let's be honest here-too little funding is just as dangerous as too much finding."
"I've never said having enough money would be bad"
That is why I spoke of danger..
"Captain a steampunk airship and fly with your friends in this thrilling MMO air combat game set in a post-apocalyptic world."
Damn those liars.
EDIT:
it isn't the first crowdfunded low budget MMO out there, and the majority are failures
I've long since stoped following crowdfuning sites like KS and Indiegogo, so I can't provide you with extensive statistics regarding success of low budget MMOs. However, I can provide you with personal experience

Mounts are ofc used for traveling and transporting and cattle as part of farming and cooking. But.. I have been thinking, what kind of use those pets are actually planned? Utility, cosmetic, combat?
you will have companions and pet.
- Companions: they will have only aesthetic purposes.
- Pet: they will be able to help you during fights casting spells, special abilities, or giving you buffs to protect you or your teammates.
Okay, this sounds really nice.
