@Norseman If I remember right, those upcoming test weekends will be there to replace A1 T3/T4, which were left out of the original test plan. So A2 will start after those test weekends.. However, I hope someone confirms this, because I am not 100% sure... 😉

Item decay with time sounds extremely punishing and annoying. However, item decaying when in use sounds more reasonable, even then repairing should be considered as a tool to sink ingame currency and resources from the game.

I hate item decay, that is, durability loss over time (not use). 😞 That turns the game into a repetitive chore.

Item durability going down on use is a different matter, but even then, it's annoying.

What -really helps the economy is something like Albion's item-trashing system, where on PvP death a significant portion of gear is simply removed from the game. I really like that, for two reasons:

      • The dying player has lost everything anyhow, and won't really care if some gear was trashed (would probably prefer it!);
      • The looting player gets some gear (plus the kill), and so still gets a reward (sometimes a very good reward).

That method "hides" an item sink in plain sight, and is not a frustrating, repetitive burden.

thats fine till you consider pve only beastmen, they need a different system, and it does not make sense to have decay on one planet and not the others

What stops full loot + item trash happen in PvE too? I do not say every animal should execute players, but some more dangerous mobs and bosses could easily make this happen.

@ManosMer said in Trading, In-game market:

For the first one, I think that giving the ability for each player to be totally independent breaks the foundation of a market. If you withdraw the need to trade and make it optional for reasons of convenience you won't have a stable market and you remove a lot of its importance. So you will end up with a stripped-down version of a market and maybe with no market at all. But that's only my opinion.

Even it is in theory possible to be a master of all trades, that does not automatically mean it is possible or happening in practise. People have different interests what they want to do with their playtime and this can be easily set behind timewall so people simply does not have enough time to do everything. From this perspective I would not see reasons to restrict what people can do with their playtime.

@Norseman I do not have the answer for your question, but if we examine all the content, which is planned to be included, we could presume we have several weeks stuff to test out for row. 🤔

@Gothix Gift cards are one good option if those are available, and if those are not available it is ofc a shame, but it is what it is. If people wants to play games online, they just might need to consider other payment methods than cash. Bank account for example is quite standard place to keep money so I suggest people to start from there.. 😉 😅

@Jetah I don't know about that gift card, I paid with bank or credit card and there was no extra fees. Well there was a good amount of options so maybe next time choose something else. 😉

you dont understand the conversation. someone said they dont want their credit card info stored on a publishers/developers servers because people can steal bank info. That tells me they dont use banks at all and only use cash. In order to pay with cash online they'd have use gift cards. Using gift cards online to buy items not of the gift card store means they pay 20% more (at least that's how it worked for me).

credit card and paypal are both 'banks' so the person isn't using those options.

you said alternative payments (to banks) which is only gift cards. either with the merchant (like buying Blizzard balance or Steam wallet) or using (Target/Wal-mart/etc) gift card with xsolla will cost 20% more. The other option could be some of the few prepaid credit cards but those are being phased out, because I assume money laundering or something like that.

I understand the conversation perfectly, but I am not sure about you... You have actually moved the conversation to weird direction with your gift card arguments. If someone only wants to use cash, there is not much to do with that guy really if he wants to buy something online. And what it comes for Blizzard gaming cards, I have not seen any extra fees on those, I think people should really check out from where to buy those at first place.

FYI, stealing credit card information is not same as stealing bank information. Bank information is much more secured, and is used to transfer X amount of money to PayPal for example, so you can keep the transfer fees as low as you want to. There are a good amount of payment methods, where obviously bank or cash are the starting point, or what alternative payment methods you think there are? Squirrel skins? Okay, some games accepts also virtual "money" like Bitcoin, but pretty much that's it.

      Hello All,

Anyone tell me which programming language is best for future point of view Python or Javascript. I want to start learning but still confused between them. Any suggestions about both of them.

I guess both are fine. However, when I was completing the very basic course of data processing, we used Python. The reason for this was (lecture said), that Python is a very easy to start with and from there it is easy to move on to other languages. However, in the second data processing course, it seams, that there will be already Java in use.

@Jetah I do not know what games you have been playing, but that +20% is not a standard. Prices are in most cases same regardless of the payment method, at least nowadays.

In PayPal, and other systems where you trasfer money from your bank account is not much any risk. Even if someone could read your username and password, that person can not get into your account without one time pin codes. But like I mentioned before, even PayPal is just one option and business engines makes payment really easy to customers and makes developers life much more easier.

@Jetah Fractured for example has a lot of different kind payment methods (thanks for Xsolla). Every gaming company has a possibility to take wide range of payment methods for use if they just want to. This is also reasonable, because making payment easier will increase sales. Business engines, like Xsolla, are available for every company so there is no need to have only credit card option. Also PayPal is used very widely as one option.

Yes, I tend to agree it can be hard to hold interests as the news is slow.

If it wasn't for the leveling system , I believe the forums would be even slower.

Tbh, I would not check the forums daily if there would not be foundation program. Simply because there is not enough intresting topics to discuss with atm.

@Jetah Usually in games you have other payment methods available too and credit card is not the only option. If credit cards are a mandatory, scammers then knows about this as well and there will be more credit card info phishers for sure.

I am also against the idea about need of credit card information to identify people. Firstable, not everyone have a credit card or they simply can not get one. Also these kind of credit card registers will surely wake up the intrest of criminals, and scamming will increase. Furthermore, is it smart move from gaming companies make starting of the game harder and put the players risk their identity and financial situation? Yeah sure if they want to loose a good amount of players.

Instead of this kind of activity, gaming companies should focus directly on scammers. That is why there are third party companies, which offers tools for gaming companies to prevent and catch up the criminal activity. I would leave this part for information- and cybersecurity professionals and companies to take care off. 😎

@Farlander I was thinking the same thing. At the very least the devs need to release a little news or something as interest appears to be waning somewhat. There are fewer and fewer new members joining (or at least posting in the hello section, and conversations seem to be limited to the same few folks going back and forth. We need a little buzz.

Yeah I agree, it would be nice to get more information about something so there would be new topics to discuss with. This something needs to be focused on content, because few screenshot won't give much to talk about.

    • RE: People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday

@Xzait So with your argument, what DS first planned with the ability system (same as now, but with 3 different power tiers) was changed from vertical system to horizontal system? The same horizontal ability progression is still there regardless is there any vertical or not. And btw there is going to be attribute nodes in talent tree which increase your power, so with your logic that part of the game is vertical too, because we can not have both in the same game... Don't you realize how cribble is your argument that games can not have both kind of progressions in use?

Actually it does not matter if you do not understand my point, it is enough that developers do:

Specter said in People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday:

@grofire The devs are aware that with the removal of spell ranks, Fractured might not have enough progression systems to give the players something to work towards. It's something they will monitor during future test phases.
