      1. GvG PvP, fight for territory control and resources, engaging politics and group conflicts, social mechanics

I would add GvGs to my list as well. It goes atm on place 6. and if implement well it will be much higher on my list.

@Tuoni Evil players who enter a good-only area on Arboreus will be instakilled if they don't leave it immediately.

      That is reasonable.

Good Beastmen who enter Tartaros are going to suffer from heavy debuffs. It's a trade-off for Arboreus being relatively safe.

      This makes sense as well.

I don't believe Beastmen get kicked out but those debuffs will make a long stay very difficult.

This is how I imagined it as well. However, my point actually was that if beastmen are treated this way then demons should be as well. I do not know what is planned but referring to few opinion here that demons are teleported out after the timer runs out is like offering an easy mode for evil players. When timer runs out they should die like beastmen on Tartaros.

There is also alts so those can be used as well if players and guilds want to.

      1. Three planets and three different playstyles is the most interesting feature imo. Offering equal content for PvE and PvP and PvX players is something what is hard to implement in the same game.
      2. Sandbox and player-driven economy.
      3. ???
      4. Asteroids.
      5. Open world PvP action, either bounty hunting criminals or playing as one, both ways sounds interesting.

??? This is a place holder for lifeskills and professions. I hope gathering, crafting and farming will be implemented well, but I have to say that at the moment I am a little bit skeptical and vigilant.

@Farlander I think @Jetah is right about the gold, and I am not sure about that silver either... Here is something to read about this matter: Gold backed currency

"Is currency backed by gold? The simple answer is “no”. Today, money is worth whatever people think it’s worth."

If a game is good, people will play it no matter what payment model is used.

    • RE: GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER

@FibS It depends how you measure a successful F2P MMO. Albion Online is a great example how a game can be successful regarless it is F2P game and the business model around that divides opinions. I agree that typically F2P games are not the best ones especially because there can be a lot of P2W elements involved. However, people should consider F2P as a model where starting of the game is free but on top of that there will be additional payments. The base idea is that there is no such a thing as a free game because the developers needs to get the money from somewhere. Nevertheless, how those additional payments are implemeted is a different story though.

Demons have 30 min to stay, after which I assume they get ported out.
If they enter safe zone they will die, but if 30 min didn't expire yet, they will res somewhere on Arboreus, and keep going until they have time.

Or perhaps after death the expedition ends and demons res on Tartaros? Same with beastmen and when they die in Tartaros, they drop their stuff and will be ressed in home planet. In addition, what happens to debuffs if you die and is there point to continue when you will be res naked?

More I have tried to figure out how all the things are planned to be implemented in practice more new questions seams to pop on my mind.

    • RE: PvE Planet with PvP

Hmmm... I thought the good-only area referred generally to Arboreus but yeah now when I have read that few more times I think so too that it refers to saze zone. Anyhow, is that said that when timer runs out characters are just teleported out? Or is this matter something what is not decided yet?

"While the planet itself doesn’t force them out, Demons have a much harder time walking the lands of Syndesia. Away from the reach of Babilis, they not only lose their Demonic powers, but start leaking vital energy after a couple hours, which forces them to get back to their homeland."

If we think of those timers in general, I guess this ^^ quote can be understood either way. However, if I analyze it more closely it sounds for me that the player needs to run out before he or she has leaked out of all the vital energies. Moreover, when beastmen are on Tartaros there is no mention of timer, just stacking debuffs which might end to the death. This made me wonder, that how beastmen will get out as easy as demons (if we presume they can be ported out when timer runs out)?

"Travelling to Tartaros is extremely challenging for any Beastman, since not only they lose the buffs they are granted on Arboreus, but also become the target of the hate of Babilis. The Evil God enjoys stacking curses on the poor fellows, who could end up dying just because of them – if they don’t get slayed by Demons, that is."

Therefore, based on these notions I would presume that regardless are you a demon on Arboreus or a Beastman in Tartaros, you need to get yourself out before time runs out or stacking debuffs will kill you.

the Demons are auto ported off the planet after 30 minutes. so anywhere within a 30m radius will be reachable.

And from where is that information?

"Even worse, you are only allowed to stay on Arboreus for half an hour at once, and you are quickly drained of all vital energies if you step into a Good-only area."

If someone is drained out of vital energies that would in my understanding mean rather death than teleporting out of the planet. Moreover, why on earth demons would be treated so light? Does not make much sense tbh.

@humerus I can also see how this will cause some misunderstandings. Ingame currency coul be e.g. copper or silver, and Dynamight currency can be e.g. coins or doubloons.

@humerus said in VIP - Details?:

@Tuoni While it is true and the system is fundamentaly broken and works agains player, as long as there is free trade in the game, there will be black markets that are selling in-game gold for irl currency, this is just how it goes unfortunately.

Yeah, gold sellers are typical problem in games and their procedures also adapts with the systems used in the games. In Albion developers are monitoring e.g. silver transactions between players and all higher level trades are examined very closely. Nowadays there is also a good amount of anti-cheat software available for gaming companies so they do not have to fight alone against the cheaters.

Wouldn't "increased knowledge point gains" be considered a pay 2 win since you'll have an advantage on the points you can attribute faster than others?

It depends on how game is designed.

In a pure vertically progressed MMO, and especially one that is constantly adding new skills to the game with expansions, of course, that would be P2W.

However, in horizontal progression game, the power gap by learning new skills will be mild. And you can reach VIPs, with a little more play time.

So in this aspect this is just a convenience thing, that you can live without. Or optionally chose to take it. 🙂

That is a good point that the advantage is smaller in horizontal progression than in vertical because horizontal offers less power increase when compared to other players.

@humerus said in VIP - Details?:

@Tuoni Actually the fact that you can buy Albion silver for irl money may be considiered a good thing. The fact that you can buy Premium with silver (as far as I can remember) means that it's already tied to real currency and if the game didn't offer to buy silver itself, there would be a lot of RWT (Real World Trading) problems that are 100x times worse.
Not to say that Albion's monetization is good, it's just not 😕

It of course makes the system a little bit better when you can buy the premium also with silver, however, most of the players will not have enough money to do so in monthly basis (or ever) and they need to buy that premium with real money. I recently (month ago) bought 3 months premium with all the gold I had left and on top of that I used few millions of silver. Anyhow, even the possibility to buy ingame currency with real money offers some benefits it can be also considered as a P2W system or at least "pay to HUGE advantage".

@Tuoni We don't have enough information to really slap a tag on this VIP subscriprtion right now, so as with most things Fructured, waiting for more dev info bombs is our only way out unfortunately. ':(

Well we have this what @Razvan posted, and on top of that there might be that carpenter to fix your house from decaying. What I remember from previous conversations the VIP package is planned generally to be quite calm what it comes to P2W or P2Advantage and really just focus on cosmetics and QoL features. I have managed to push the Albion's quite horrible system(*) out from my mind so I guess I can easily live with the Fractured model at least next 100 years. 😉

(*) Those who do not know, in Albion premium package is a must because the benefits are so damn good. On top of that you benefit to have several characters and even several accounts and one premium is only for one character. And finally you can buy cash shop currency (Gold) with real money and you can trade Gold for ingame currency silver, with silver you can buy almost everything from progression to items. 😒

@Razvan said in VIP - Details?:

VIP membership is a monthly subscription planned to be priced around $10/month. It provides the following perks:

      Discounts on Store items
Unique cosmetic rewards for accumulated VIP time
Other vanity rewards we might think of in the future
      Additional study slots
      Increased Knowledge Point gains

      @Phial

      "increased knowledge point gains"

This just means that you will be able to employ new skills faster, you will still be unlocking and grinding for them just like everyone else.
Think Albion: first you need to get the kill count requirement (not affected by VIP) and them unlock the ability by using knowledge points (affected by VIP). Or that's just the general consensus on how it works 😉

Well Albion Online is basically unplayable without the monthly Premium so it can be considered as P2W or in other hand it can be considered as a subscription game. However, if I compare Fractured's VIP to Albion's Premium, Fractured model looks so much better and tolerable.

It sure can be considered, depending of course how big is that advantage. It does not sound that bad but I would say it might be somewhere in the light grey area.
