@gibbx yes, it's classless, but classes are convenient ways to discuss things. So, yes, while character x has skills that let them do anything, they will also have stats that favor certain things, which let's them act in certain roles well, and others poorly. a limited charisma leads to a problem singing, and makes them poor bards. a good constitution score gives a character the option to stand in the front line of a fight, whether that is as a "tank" or a "dps." The fact that a character can easily switch between the 2 means the game is classless - no one is any particular class - but what you choose to be at any given moment can be discussed in terms of class.

RE: Why Magic users will be OP compared to physical users
@target I don't know if it increases it, precisely - just that low intelligence gates it (ie - if you have a 6 int, then you'll only get ~60% (to spit ball a number) of the knowledge you would normally learn, but if you have 10, you'll get 100%, and if you have 20, you'll still get 100%

RE: Gods and Alignments
@dj35 That is a possibility, though, I'm under the impression that simply being a goody-two shoes isn't enough to angelize XD like there is a quest aspect, too. Still, according to how religious quests work, they move your alignment towards that of the deity - so human gods won't get you moral enough to go heavenly body, same way my character's devotion to
gamblingIridia isn't risking abomination status. Also, I kind of think that the big B's boon is going to be a universal damage upgrade, not just a physical strength one. That guy likes explosions (and pissing off Glavanos) to much not to bolster magic damage too XD no healing though. XD -
RE: Why Magic users will be OP compared to physical users
As far as I can tell, Mages need Perception for accuracy, same as everyone else. And dexterity is all that stands between a wizard and a rogue's concealed ganking, at the moment. Well, a high health probably covers that, too, but it isn't like there isn't a counter to to a wizard, 1v1.

RE: Gods and Alignments
@dj35 Fair enough, but the demons don't have to worship the demon god - my current hero is a beastman worshiping a human deity. Didn't think I could do that, but surprise surprise? It's apparently legal? Now, it may be that Demons can only go for their dude god, or the human ones, but at least it's a choice. and it may be that that's only true initially, and if you go more "moral" your available choices shift.
also, I'm willing to bet Demon god is the Strength related one, and in a lot of ways, that's the best of the bunch, given the likely outcome of worship is More Power! XD

@kairosval Now I want my undead band. I'm trying to decide if we are going to be Deth Metal, or mariachi.

RE: Biomes, Terrain & Climate
I sort of hope that we can actually make our own roads...which, admittedly, would be a pain in the neck to program, so, I don't see it happening, but I still think it would be cool. Or, maybe there are "basic" roads, and people can improve them so they allow faster motion, or something. Like, if you have 3 towns under a guild, then they could build roads to each other and make trade easier, but if 2 guilds go to war, you have to worry about either tearing up the roads to so the enemy can't use them, or keep them to advance your own forces. Fun stuff.
Sort of the same thought on terrain - can we build tunnels? or bridges? - charge tolls and contest ownership of different strategic points and bottle-necks?
Not sure I want to see that much strategic war...especially in an entirely player run mmo XD we aren't the most responsible sorts XD but it is an interesting idea.
I hadn't paid much attention to climate actually. I find the ideas listed to be very interesting! I've got a minor love of Don't Starve, so this all sounds familiar. in a sort of half dreaded way...oh lords, winter is coming...and the dogs....Shiver Shiver XD

RE: The Lich vs. the Angel and Abomination
@galdaen I'm not sure they should have a single champion - humans having freedom implies them actualizing into multiple "pinnacles," as opposed to the beastmen and demons having only one path (possibly back and forth, but...).

RE: Is accuracy rating (Perception + Dex) affecting spell hit chance?
not saying you're right, or your wrong, but that there are finer points to be examined.
I'd say that all of those thing will matter, at least to some extent. having a character kitted out as a dodge tank being told "oh, by the way, you're entire concept is useless against bards and psychics" would be a bit unfortunate. I agree some spells ought to care less about evasion rates than others, but I also doubt the devs ever want to create a situation where having a poor stat isn't a big deal for one particular sort of character or build. (either have it a big deal for everyone, or no one, is fine - just, no special cases, if possible)
I will also say that, for the purposes of direct damage and effects, I doubt that you'd need both input stats to use it well, just because stats are so hardwired the way they are. if they were additive, then the basic Illusions spells tossed on a pair of 15's would overwhelm the damage output of any single stat spell at max caster strength (25). They can't be averaged, either, for similar reasons - making someone pay 60 points to be as effective as someone spending 30 is also bad design. I'm going to guess they'll use a formula like [The higher of the two stats] + [the lower/5 (rounded to the nearest integer)], using the same natural cap everyone else has on the result. make the secondary count some, but not so overwhelmingly that someone can't find another way to get to that cap, if they are really determined. In essence, I'm saying an Intelligence mage is going to be able to cast everything "well," even if they ignore the other stats, but that an illusionist can do just as well with Charisma, assuming reciprocal stats.
There are other concerns - like the fact that Illusions, all things being equal, will screw accuracy builds. okay, fine, you can hit my mirror clone, but it takes you three hits to kill one, and I've spawned 3 more in the meantime (spit balling here, but playing the shell game is a stand-by of illusion skills)
Further, the illusionist gets scaling damage on their illusions, something archers don't get from dex or perception. Sure, the archer can shift to casting...but, lets be honest, once you say that, why use a bow at all? -
RE: Allergy to various types of food.
@nightcoder I like this idea. nothing major, but making it a bit of a thing. Like, you are allergic to a certain tree's pollen. -10% movement when you are within 20 feet of that type of tree, and for 1 minute after being so - cause you're sneezing.
you're lactose intolerant. potions or foods made with milk or cheese cause -10% health regen for 1 hour after, cause your guts are not happy.
Rock dust is no good - screen gets slightly blurry until you can wash your eyes out. stay out of canyons.
Peanut allergy (minor) - food containing peanuts give you a 5% poison malus that engages once a minute until the malus is removed, or 10 minutes have past.
Wool - wearing wool makes you break out in hives, which is highly distracting, -5% to accuracy and evasion while wearing wool. may occasionally lose control of the character as they scratch furiously. go naked, it's less embarrassing.
-
RE: Allergy to various types of food.
If taking an allergy got me 1 point in character creation (so all those builds on the non-human side where 1 more point means the difference between a 9 and a 10), I'd go for it XD Demons would probably have it worst - low biosphere on Tartaros means fewer food options. Beastmen would seem to have lots of options, while humans would have the most. Tartaros Eclipse invasions are food/beer runs? XD

@jozef Nailed it - and well put.

RE: The Lich vs. the Angel and Abomination
I think, in the context of the game...If "Human" is an absolute freedom, then Lich is going to be a loss of that Freedom in return for knowledge/power - that you've given up some choices in return for greater strength - a Human that has made their decision. Even if this is accomplished by sacrificing self, or others (which, in the karma system, is not necessarily evil -- sacrificing evil things is Good, by game context, so you could go to Tartaros, kill a demon, and drag them over to your home Altar of Sacrifice, no problem [in the eyes of the Gods, anyway; neighbors might complain])
I was sort of thinking about the other side as well (And spoke poorly) about someone who has, in this context, given up their freedom for the sake of others - labeled it "saint," but the faun and satyr option is equally good.
For powers, maybe a walking damage field, and regen field? damage magnifier (if you are in the field, you get hurt more - lich excluded) and defense up field? point being, it is always on, and non-targetting - everyone in it gets the effect, ally or enemy. Really handy if your lich stands alone in enemy camp, and really handy if your saint is among friends, but problematic in reverse, to say the least. really stress the choices made via game mechanics.

RE: Classes
@target Hm. Lions for Strength, and 'Diles for Perception, do you think? Lion Form is probably something like a centered AoE "roar" that...stuns thing, periodically, maybe? not sure how to feel about that, given the Nhee get melee stun (and other things). feels like enough of an overlap to be worrisome. 'Diles for strength make about as much sense, but what they are known for is their bite, and being able to hide...and we already have the Nhee, again, doing a buffed melee attack again. Maybe they become untargetable and unsee-able if they stand still in their alt mode? invisibility obviously lasts for a while after they start moving, or you just pound in that area for splash damage. Maybe a short range teleport when you stand still, to avoid general attacks initially.
man, really wants something better than a roar on a lion. Let's do some creative junk on what a lion can do for a power that - a) doesn't overlap with something else, and b) isn't generic as all get out. what do you all think?

RE: Classes
@jetah I think they mean, that Beholders have specific connotations (they have flight, for example, which, as demon powers go, might be cool, and 8 different magic rays depending on which eye is looking at you funny - which would be a balance nightmare XD) and the fact that the creature design and name are (C) some other company.

RE: Community Call - YouTubers You Know
I follow checks twitch list ummm...need to go cut this down some...
I follow a lot of twitch streamers. I can recommend 2 that often do MMO stuff
https://www.twitch.tv/jooygirl/
https://www.twitch.tv/captainredwolfJooygirl is odd, but she does have a huge following, and she's odd in a way that I think would lead to her enjoying this game, and really improving how people see it by just having a lot of fun.
Cap'n Redwolf is much more normal, and will probably be quite happy to buccaneer through the human realm for a while, given a copy to play, but she does have a smaller following.
