    • RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is

@basileus said in Bit worried where the Kickstarter is:

I'm personally more worried about how they're going to get the rest of the money for the game.... Hopefully they can get either a lot of private investors to back them, or a big publisher to help them push the game through to the finish line.

You don't have to worry, the game is planning to move forward either way. At least according to number 4 on the Kickstarter FAQ:

      1. What happens if the campaign fails?

If Kickstarter fails, there are ultimately two paths possible. We could repeat the campaign later on, or we could move directly to the second step and start selling the pledge packs here. Either case, we'll be set back a little and development will be slowed down, but it's not the end of the world.

Dynamight Studios is a financially stable company. Careful business planning, coupled with backing from the three founders and private investors, make us feel safe about the future of the project. Plus, we are already in touch with a few large game publishers that have shown interest in Fractured.

Kickstarter was going to start at the beginning of the month but now appears to be slated for the end of June.

    • RE: What is your favorite game at this moment?

      Currently I like to play:
Mostly playing Battlefield 1 and WoW to sink time. Giving Bless Online a go too.

PC Master race / console / tabletop?
PC Master race of course, unless it's a PS4 exclusive 😄

Why do you play this game right now?
I've been a BF junkie for years, will probably play BF V when it comes out too. Just waiting around for BfA for WoW. Had been waiting a long while to play Bless Online and received a free copy, so why not?

    • RE: Price range of game? $50-$75 AUD? or?

@plowking From what they (and others) have said, it would be just over $50 AUD, yes (current conversion rate from GBP to AUD). And it will only be available via Steam at a later date. Unknown at this point if that will be some time after release or just prior to full release.

    • Greetings, wanderers

Guildie linked this here MMO in our forums. Not sure how it managed to fly under my radar for so long. Glad to be here now though in time for the KickStarter!

    • RE: Importance of Player community

I think the last time I logged into a game and really felt like I could just log in for the sake of being in the game online and hanging out with my friends was in the earlier days of Star Wars Galaxies. Yes, there were some things I had in mind that I should probably do as soon as I had the time but I could also just log in and dink around as much as I wanted without it feeling like a waste.

I think it felt organic because I could easily log in and do whatever I wanted, without much being barred from me being able to access. Obviously there were things that if I went and tried to complete them I'd get my butt handed to me, but that was part of the learning experience.

I have played WoW (as so many of us have) for years. I've come to somewhat despise the months leading up to expansions such as right now because I log in, even if I'm trying to log in and level up an alt, and kinda go "what's the point when there's an expansion coming out soon and none of this will matter?"

I believe to keep a balance between the two, you'd have to make sure that most areas of the game didn't follow along the lines of "you must complete a, b, and c to access x, y, and z". Not saying you can't do that at all, just keep those restricted access areas to a minimum. But also make the things you can do outside of those a, b, and c activities matter, so that players take part in them as much or as little as they want to.

    • RE: Do u think there will be other races too later ?

@rhicuun Considering that the races are planet-based, it's entirely possible. Probably too early at this point to say for sure though.

What other game did you have a guild in?

Approximately how many people were you playing with and managing in the guild?

Just a couple questions for you - thanks!

    • RE: Solo

I saw it last week as well. Although I enjoyed it and am thoroughly loving that Disney is willing to take the IP beyond the "main" storyline, I didn't enjoy it as much as Rogue One. I'm glad they kept parts of his history from the Han Solo Trilogy books intact at least. Wasn't terribly impressed on how they portrayed Lando as a charismatic cheat and coward though. I think whoever wrote the script was a bit bitter about Cloud City yet... I honestly think it's just hard for some people to conceptualize something being a Star Wars movie that doesn't involve any Jedi or Sith or a lightsaber battle. After watching the movie though it made me really get a hankering for a modern open-world MMO like Star Wars Galaxies was back in the good ol' days before the NGE forced you into a class. I want to make my character my own, not fit into a specific class for the life of the game. Anyway, back on topic - Solo was good, not the greatest but not as terrible as people have been making it out to be. I'm looking forward to more SW movies that build upon the expanded universe.
