@Karuro said in How many server will be there?:
Will the players play in different servers if they are from different countries? Or there will be only one server for all the player.
Our plan is to have only one world for all players, and SpatialOS as a platform allows us to do that easily. However, we're aware there might latency issues for players outside of the EU/NA cluster, so if the game picks a lot of traction in other areas of the world and SpatialOS expands there as well, we'll consider adding a second or third world.
@Kapier said in "Extra-planetary" travels? Interesting!:
I assume each planet follows its own distinctive rules, how does that work if someone travels from one planet to the other. Is he then subject to the rules of the planet? And is that a system similiar to "low security/high security" which punishes acts of crime differently, like a rogue planet with high risk and reward?
Yes, you're subject to the rules of that planet, which don't include only PvP rules and the "criminal system", but also racial buffs / debuffs, and more. Tartaros is probably even more than the "rogue planet" you're suggesting - it has open PvP and zero consequences for criminal actions.
Hi @iBroGame! Fractured is a new project which has been in development since January this year. We've planned a Kickstarter campaign to be launched this autumn! A few more info here.
@epricesx I didn't get what you mean exactly, what "index" are you talking about?
Hi @epricesx! Purchase of access to the game will be available in our Kickstarter campaign (and after that, on our website). We're planning to launch it this autumn, so you have to wait for a while longer
@Rofus it's not a matter of technology but of time required to develop a more flexible system - which is what we're aiming at!
@Kellock93 @Scylurus @Tyrrh @Alta2215 we'll use a modular building system. If I really have to compare it to other games, Kellock, I can say it will be definitely closer to ARK and Rust than to Minecraft, since our world won't be made of "blocks".
@Siltoruz you're wrong eheh. It will be all in-game, no external editors!
@Rofus said in "Extra-planetary" travels? Interesting!:
So I guess the planets are in the same solar system orbiting the same star(s)? Will the planetary positions affect how easy it is to travel between planets? Will the planets have different orbital periods and thus have different season lenghts (if there are season in the game)?
I can't reveal it all now, so I'll restrict myself to a few hints:
@Rofus we're glad you and many others are enjoying it!
@Holya trying to discourage the competition, eh? Passive point generation is only a small perk, and indeed only posting around your referral link won't do you much good. If on the other hand you invite real friends and get them engaged with the community, then it's a whole different story. That's the point of The Foundation: to stay engaged and engage, not to become a spammer.
@Higoryz all the info we can reveal for now about dates are the ones in our FAQ. More details will come when we announce our Kickstarter campaign!
@StarDust this time it will!
Thanks to you both guys and welcome to the community!
@Lethality you're guessing right! Not only each planet, but also each region within a planet, has its own unique distribution of resources. Since there is no global banking and no global marketplace / auction house, it's up to the players to physically move resources around. Travels between planets are possible - we're talking magical means here, not sci-fi - but how easily they can be performed depends on your race, from the planet you're in, and from the destination. This is one of the first things we'll be covering in our upcoming dev journals so stay tuned!
@Rofus there are only 3 main planets, but there will be other regions in space you'll be able to visit: asteroids passing through the solar system! They'll be suitable for experienced players and one of the main stages for large-scale guild battles
@Rofus said in do we have a discord channel?:
@Prometheus said in do we have a discord channel?:
@killerqueer said in do we have a discord channel?:
but is there a discord lol
Not yet, we'll make it public together with the upcoming referral system announcement
So is there one now that the referral system, The Foundation, has been announced? I need more Discord servers to lurk!
Coming tomorrow! There will be an announcement here on the forums
@Zahard said in Engage and Win with The Foundation:
Any prediction of posting a video playing?
The Fractured project has started in January this year, so we're quite far from being able to produce a good looking "video trailer". However, we're going to drop screenshots all over the summer - short video footages will come later in the year

А сколько ключей на халяву то будет роздано?
We haven't planned to distribute game keys directly in The Foundation so far, but it's something we're going to discuss in the future.
@Kamidzy said in Our journey begins today, with you:
Уважаемые разработчики, если вы это понимаете этот язык, будут ли новости переводится на другие языки? Или всем придется превозмогать во славу Императора? XD
We'll start translating our news - and the whole website - as soon as possible. Russian is one of our highest priorities! However, I'd like to ask you to stick to English when posting in the general forums!
@Thomas said in Hello from Denmark!:
Sounds good
It's probably been asked a lot, but when do you expect the alpha to start?
Answer's here! We can't give a more exact estimate as of today.
Welcome to the community @Lethality! SpatialOS is a great platform indeed and the Improbable guys are also really cool people to work with. We're very satisfied with our choice
Welcome to the community @Thomas! We're going to release new screenshots and eventually video footage as well in the coming dev journals. Keep an eye on our social media pages, this forum and the newsletter!
