      Attribute respecs definitely won't cost KP eheh.

      KP from exploration and bestiary discoveries are limited (with obvious jumps when we add new areas / creatures), but those from item identification and relics aren't! So in the end they are unlimited, but the bulk comes from exploration and discoveries. :slight_smile:

      That depends on their preparation, their alignment vs the planet they're visiting, and whether there are special events running (such as an eclipse on Syndesia). In general, we're talking of short times - a few hours at most, which is linked to the idea that you're having an "adventure" on another planet, not settling there.

      As for engaging in group play with a Human friend, sure, the Human friend could travel to Tartaros or the Demon to Syndesia and they could play together. How long they will survive in a hostile planet is a whole different story πŸ˜‰

      @KairosVal that's a nice original idea, but it would take a considerable amount of work to implement it - so, as you've said, it's unlikely we'll consider such mechanics early on. For sure there's no limit to how deep and creative we can go when it comes to racial mechanics though, so never say never!

      Having hundreds of REALLY different abilities seems rather ambitious. The ones you presented there seem more like the common average ones you find in every game, featuring much the same effects with a different name and graphics. It's going to be interesting to see if you can really make them different enough.

      Hold on - what we meant in the Spotlight is that each ability should be as unique as possible within Fractured - for instance, there shouldn't be a "fireball" and a "major fireball" that is just better than the lesser version. Of course many abilities will resemble those you can find in other RPGs or MOBAs - buffs, debuffs, shields, beams, rays, projectiles, summons, mobility, status effects - they're some of the elements we're working with, and they're all well-tested concepts. It's the Knowledge System (character creation / progression / re-building) and the interactions with the environment that make Fractured different in this case - other than the fact that there's no real sandbox MMO with ARPG combat out there yet :slight_smile:

      Hmm, I don't really get the question. Resting is specific mechanic involving re-assigning your attribute points, choosing what spells to memorize, and recovering your health. If you want to roleplay before or after doing it... Why not?

      It is, but the maximum an attribute can reach is 25, be it all Natural Score (base stats + talents) or thanks to temporary modifiers.

      Attribute-wise, perhaps, but don't forget that Humans have access to technology - which impacts building, crafting and combat as well. That's something other races don't have an it's a huge characterization points :slight_smile:

      The table you're referring to shows cap variations, not bonuses/maluses. It means Udoadra can get their INT up to 16 instead of 18, they don't start with -2!

      No, the assumption is quite wrong, sorry. Charisma serves a very different purpose from Intelligence, and we don't expect players to generally raise one if they raise the other.

      The table (and the article) was focused on attributes, but there's more than that to a race. Beastmen for instance can turn into their Primal Form, through which they gain unique modifiers and abilities - and that changes by family... so if you see one race having worst cap modifiers, it means they have advantages elsewhere πŸ˜‰

      You're always able to return. There are some default landing points, others you can learn to open, but you can't just go anywhere you like - just a brief explanation here. As for the others things you've said, remember that we can always adjust the type, duration and intensity of maluses / limitations to have things working as planned - that hostile PvP on Arboreus is an exceptional occurrence, not the norm. This will all be defined during Alpha testing!

      Could you explain how you define 'competitive from day 1' in relation to 'powerful boost' to various key elements of combat (damage, evasion, mana and health regeneration, accuracy and luck)? It seems mutually exclusive to me, since in a MOBA you can either have a significant/powerful boost, or be competitive right from the beginning, but not both. What am I missing here @Prometheus?

      I assume you're referring to the bonuses you get if you reach a natural score of 20 in an attribute?

      A preamble here: the word "powerful" should be put in the context of a game where differences are small, like Fractured. A +20% to a certain statistic (say, to melee damage from reaching 20 STR) is already enough to be called a "powerful bonus".

      I assume the scenario that worries you is someone picking 18 points in a stat and aiming for the 20 with talents - a dangerous move anyway, since you'll want to re-assign your talents frequently and you'll often end up having to give up that +2 in favor of other bonuses. In this scenario, you think the KP bonus from VIP helps you getting talent points faster -> get the 20 faster. This is really not the case, as you'll typically want to get 50 talents points as quickly as possible and VIP has little to no influence there - the reason is explained in the answer below.

      @Prometheus First of all what "unlimited sources only" means, exactly? And secondly, you still haven't answered if the VIP ticket will be an actual in-game item, that will be possible to be exchanged (see EVE's PLEX) or not.

      Some sources of KP are limited, because you can perform the action only once (e.g. discovering a new region, a new creature, etc). VIP doesn't boost them. Others, like studying enchanted items, are unlimited - every time you find an enchanted item, you can study it and gain KP.

      As long as you still have limited sources available, you'll be looking for those, since unlimited sources are rare and/or give much fewer points. Unlimited sources matter only once you've run out of limited. At that point, however, your character is likely already dozens of hours old, has unlocked all the 50 talent points and has a good variety of builds available - it can be considered "done" from a "competitive" standpoint.

      As for trading, the plan is for VIP to be something you activate for your account, not an item that can be traded.

      Indeed - and we realized we did a mistake not explaining it in the post and the video description (I've just added that). We though it would have been obvious the Shock Bolt we were casting was electrifying the water, but I guess many people assumed it was just a standard effect of the spell that would work everywhere (it's not!) 😞

      Teleportation exists but it very limited - more info at the end of this article.

      We'll use it for the game as well, and the system there will mimic browser cookies. Won't be IP-based.

      @Prometheus we need some official assets. Either officially upload the images for us or allow us to download them from you.
