      That's exactly how it works - ranking up a city no longer requires citizens but residents, that is, claimed land parcels in the whole region 🙂

      Hi @Fraxav, the account guard uses cookies indeed. It's kind of a standard implementation for such a system - it's not only people in faraway places that can get hold of your password 😉 The control on multiple failed login attempts also exists, but it serves another purpose (preventing brute force attacks).

      If it annoys you, you can disable it completely from your account menu! 🙂

      A guild without a city can launch a conquest against a city at the Hamlet or Village stage, unless that city is fully surrounded by territories belonging to the same Nation. More info on the topic in the next videos!

      If you are stunned, you cannot dodge attacks. The issue with this is currently the meta for melee is centered around abilities like Bash, Shockwave. and Word of Power: Stun, which all currently disregard evasion and have no diminishing returns. Meaning, in a battle, you can be stunned immediately by an ability that you cannot dodge with evasion, and then all subsequent melee hits will be guaranteed to land on you.

      Yes, that's yet another issue with the current excessive power level of stuns. We have a big balancing patch coming next week that will address it 🙂

      @asspirin @Hathos @kellewic crits can be dodged, I removed it from the wiki 🙂

      @Clinion what @Gothix said above is correct - aside from the bit on PvE. You'll actually be able to "grind for your needs" through PvE, since gold is dropped by humanoids - the game currently only features goblins, but there will also be orcs, trolls, kobolds... The usual bunch 🙂 Also, some creatures will drop gems you'll be able to sell to NPCs for gold - that's going to yield better results, but prices will fluctuate widely from city to city, so you'll have to know where to go 😉

    • Patch Log - v.a.2.3.0a

      Minor Changes

      • Leave City functionality added to the Town Hall. It can be used by all citizens save the Governor of the city.

      Bug fixes

      • Fixed a major issue that caused massively increased monster progress gains (and thus Knowledge Point gains) when killing monsters in a group.
      • Fixed a UI bug when claiming a land parcel in the wilderness (cost displayed was 500 gold but it's actually 1,000 gold).
      • Fixed a UI bug that made Governors see buttons to manage objects in starting areas (the buttons did nothing when clicked).

    • November 5 Server Crash - Ongoing Investigation

      Hi everyone,

      the deployment crashed tonight around 2.40am CET.

      We've been investigating since we woke up (about 2h ago) and we should have pinpointed what caused that. It's not related to server load, which was fine.

      We're still trying to figure out the details and whether that's an error on our side or was originated by something akin to a DDOS attack.

      We'll keep you updated in this thread.

      Big apologies for the inconvenience, there'll be compensation for the play time and possible player progression lost.


      UPDATE

      The blame is on us. We're working on a fix. New ETA for when the Fall Alpha should be back up: 4pm CET (10am ET).

      The spawn of legends is temporarily suspended due to an issue that caused excessive loot drops.

      There is also an error with the new city maintenance table. Values for Cereals and Proteins are too high (the values at rank 24 should be 40 and 80 respectively, not 70 and 140).

      Both issues are going to be hotfixed tomorrow morning. Apologies for the inconvenience!

      @Nekrage we definitely agree on this, durability loss is too fast now and indeed affects tanks only. We're likely going for a combination take damage / deal damage to trigger durability loss on armor in the future and slow down the deterioration of metal armor.

      @Esoba the issue with repairing is that it doesn't take into account the cost of enchantments, that's why it's likely that won't be an option unless we go for something like losing enchantments on repair.

      On a... related note, how do you evaluate the durability loss of weapons now?

Right now at 27 con with a full set of bronze armor, talents, and enchanted trinkets leads to a 1.2 second block cooldown, a 5 recharge on all warfare "strike" abilities, a 26 second second wind cooldown and a 27% increase in attack speed with frenzy.

      The fact you could get above 25 CON was a bug, just fixed 🙂

      As for the rest, you are right that CON gives way too much offensive potential while it should be a defensive attribute. We're going to address that before the start of the Winter Alpha.

    • Patch b.1.0g - Economy, PvE & PvP Balancing

      Hi, fellow gamer and MMO enthustiast!

      Here come the largest balancing patch since our Early Access launch, targeted at both PvE and PvP. This patch wasn't planned, but it was sorely needed as we saw gold and divine reward generation get out of control in the end game, with insane amounts of gold, orbs and recipes being generated every day. This had no damage on the economy yet since it's been going on for a few days only, but would have a major impact in the long run. Moreover, complaints about PvP balancing were still widespread, so we needed to address those as well.

      Is this all? Of course not, a lot more will be live in the upcoming patch Endgame Changer, the first major release of the game! For now however, this should shake the meta and adjust the economy. Because of this, we've reset the respec timer for all characters and respecs now have a cooldown of 1 day instead of 1 week!

      A quick server patch to bring you two of the most requested fixes! Have a nice weekend!

      Bug Fixes

      • Knowledge gain sharing between party / guild members is now working correctly. If a player gains kill rights on a monster, all the members of the same party / guild who have taken part in the fight gain kill rights too, even if the damage they dealt was minimal.
      • The Play Time counter should have stopped resetting for good!
