      @dj35 I wrote a post a while back hoping that there would be lots of ways to learn from our environment w/o necessarily having to kill a hundred of something that isn't trying to hurt me. I was assured by a few people that the idea was in the works. Glad I don't have to kill all the deer! ๐Ÿ˜‰

      I'm not voting on this... I've got some major Gemini in my chart and we respond to every apparent dichotomy with "Can't I have some of each?" We are the reason for swirly softserv ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿ˜†

      I'm learning so much here about what the conventions are in different sorts of games than the ones I'm used to - and new words like 'theorycrafting'! It's certain that by launch, I'll have an opinion about what would've been the best possible thing but right now I'm just curious and wide open to the cool stuff the devs are laying out and the information that will help me build a fun & sustainable toon.

      That said, my background in theater and D&D makes me love a fully-developed PC that's got backstory and internal consistency, even as I recognize I'll probably totally fubar my first attempt. Whether, at that point, I can someways tweak what I've already done or have to start over is (to me) a bridge I'll cross when I get there.

      Just to introduce a possibility that hasn't been discussed ๐Ÿ‘น ๐Ÿ˜ ...
      In Game of Thrones Ascent, there was a reincarnation system that allowed players to start over as a new PC (in a different 'house' w different strengths & learnable skills) but with all the learned skills of your previous PCs and all the sworn swords you'd collected still there (although you had to level up to use increasing numbers of them).

      Reincarnating was a total pain but the people who managed to do all the houses were truly mega on the battlefield.

      Those scrolls should be character bound in that case, and have a limit how much you can have at once (like 3 or something) so you can not hoard them, perhaps even an expiry timer in addition to that. And with a low enough chance of getting those, "purchase attribute reset from cash shop" would not lose purpose, while still offering players to transfer a point here and there for "free" through gameplay.

      @Psymantis - I empathize with your desire to play solo, even as I recognize that in most worlds there are LOTS of situations that are ridiculous to attempt on one's own. The fact that danger is inherent in the solitary life is why most folks live in groups.

      I'm an odd duck irl - introverted and unable to filter properly for the kind of social popularity that most people seek. In game, I'll have some of the same choices to make as irl - do I put up with other people for safety's sake? Or lose a bunch of loot because a bear got me while I was exploring all by my lonesome? Up to you, pal!

      Some folks in this forum want things to be as realistic as possible and argue endlessly about what things are REALLY LIKE irl - others want a game experience tailored to their preferences even if it creates an unrealistic world.

      I'm just gonna play things as they lay. As long as all the toons have the same challenges, it's part of the game I'm playing, and I can choose to play or to find another game more to my liking.

      want to +1 the idea of respawn at the temple of a toon's relevant deity. Not all players will be interested in the religious aspect of the game, so having a choice btw the nearest tavern and our toon's god would be great. Thanks, @Prometheus for responding positively to this suggestion!

      @Kralith - I'm hoping that @Prometheus and the Devs will update this for T3. I'd really like to be able to set my fireplace as 'public', so weary travelers can cook a meal and get some rest even if I'm off exploring (as I plan to be doing A LOT OF THAT ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

      Easy enough to 'lock' my chest of valuables w/o keeping someone from just hanging out safely.

      @Rokesh - I know it's not a great time for anyone to be throwing $$ away, so your question is an important one! But if there's one thing COVID has taught us ALL, it's that s**t we can't even imagine can happen out of nowhere, so anyone claiming to have a crystal ball is a shaky prospect.

      I will say that I've already gotten my personal investment's worth of fun out of this game - I bought in at 'beta' level but I have been able to play in alphas by winning A-keys drawn for folks who promote the game in my social networks. Each test has made big steps forward! The current alpha is basic, but already fun to play, and it's going to get way better for the next test when cities and talent trees go live.

      Not to mention the value of the cool global community forming on this forum... strangely, when they took out the p2w aspect, a lot of the asshats common in forum settings found something else to do... none of the long-winded privileged trolls I'd learned to filter out to avoid their whining in the forum about minor game changes that messed up something they'd put major bucks into. ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜œ

      @FibS - but when I was heading down toward the Vale of Shadows from the Spine, I came upon a section of trail that was LINED with unbuilt carts. At first I thought it was someone who was trying to figure something out. Then I realized that, however it had begun, it was now a place where everyone who passed by was leaving one or two along the side of the trail. It went on for quite some ways! Cracked me all the way up, so of course I had to leave my own 'offering' to the godlets of unbuilt things.

    • Trail of the Unbuilt Carts!

      Someone in game told me yesterday was the last day of this test, so it may not be there when I'm able to log in later. I'm just glad it lasted long enough for me to find the Trail of the Unbuilt Carts and leave an offering. ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿคฃ

      At first, I wasn't sure what I had stumbled into... then I realized it was the manifestation of a collective SENSE OF HUMOR! Our community may not always display it in the forum but...

      Hallelujah! I really needed that.

      I'm personally fine with some critters being easier for a caster (or fighter... or tank or archer subtype) to kill and some being impossible w/o certain magical powers or melee proficiency. As long as it makes sense within the context of the game universe. Could be that my little mage will need to find a basher to team up with to achieve some goals, or my archer will need to find a mage to get into a cave sometime. Life is like that. ๐Ÿคท ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜˜

      That's my 2 lire in case anyone is trying to say we all need every mob to be defeatable by any solo player with the appropriate skill set.
