hmmm... that hasn't happened to me. I reset my game to 'windowed' rather than fullscreen and it's been stable throughout the test.

One thing that's sad in this test: I wanted to build a grindstone for making bread but you can only do that in a house you've built. The grindstones in other people's homes only work for them, and there aren't any 'public' ones available outside the starter city.

[FRAC-2360] 'Invalid Target'?
I know there are some issues with unarmed/close range melee rn, but wanted to start a thread in case someone else has had this problem too:
My toon is a mixed build for unarmed/mage w lots of slippery. Tried killing some wolves and get an 'invalid target' message when I use magic missle & shocking lash at close range.
The spells seem to work on things that are some distance away tho. Am I doing something stupid or is this a bug? -

It's driving me nuts. Melee's can't do shit this test because of the bug.I just tried to kill some mobs and I was getting an 'invalid target' error when I tried to cast magic missle and shocking lash at wolves that were on top of me.
Don't think I'll be trying to kill anything else with this build. Maybe next test...Gonna retool talents for a more magey thing

I voted no bc logging out when you go afk for any real length of time isn't that bloody hard, but @spoletta & @Kazzier have made good suggestions re adaptations I would support. @Gothix's idea makes sense but seems complicated to implement.

There were a couple of uncrossable bridges in the last test. One of them led out of the starter town, so they fixed that one pretty quick

Hi Kaz - LOTS of discussion on the CHA stat and its possibilities. I got over 200 hits for both searches when I plugged 'taming' and 'charisma' into the forum search. Have fun catching up on the conversation!
In this case, it makes sense for the devs to focus on the stats and abilities used for PvP. I know they know there's lots of us happiest in support roles - healer, bard - who are waiting keenly for the CHA abilities to come into focus. We're having fun taming horses and dreaming of Arboreus-to-come. Meanwhile, enjoy the hack n slash!

Watching this a couple of times, it looked like the spell might've been cast just as the spiderling died and hit you afterward. That IS something to be aware of for spells that cross distances. Thanks for posting!

Welcome to the forum, and to the game! Your profile says you've been a member for a few days already. Hope you're enjoying things! I really appreciate that you counsel patience with the devs as they build a HUGE vision from the ground up.
What you can't possibly know is that @Kralith has been doing this from the very beginning, and is beyond patient.
Kralith is a player who actually posts about pretty much every bug they run into, while the rest of us run around and have fun and shrug off the bugginess of the alpha until it inconveniences us... then come to the forum to complain. THAT'S normal behavior, and unsurprising. Kralith is a bloody saint.
The chat has been problematic from the start, with no way to /mute or /ignore trolls and spam, and only one VERY AWESOME VOLUNTEER moderator named @Specter. @Prometheus and the devs are well aware of this, and they have read LOTS of posts requesting various QoL improvements for their game. These chat features are a top 3 ask. It's esp. frustrating when there's an 'open' test and a ton of trolls show up just for the lulz
I normally stick up for the devs every chance I get when forum-ites kvetch about minor issues (check my post history) but this time they've made a decision that I can't support. This isn't minor, and I can't imagine why it's so difficult to just get it done when it's probably the most-requested Do-able QoL feature (there are a few more requested but not in the cards, like a WASD movement system or an auto-ride/instant-transport thingee).
The ability to /mute or /ignore stuff that messes with a player's ability to be helpful in chat (as we all hope to be, and Kralith very much is) must happen eventually. You and I agree on that, Kaz. What you can't know, being so new, is how long people have waited, and how many people have asked.

@Aknadin - I get the same bug. Not sure whether it's a graphics card thing on my end or a server issue on theirs but thanks for posting on it. If others have the same problem they can post here.
This last try I got in and was able to collect some wheat but on the way back to bake my bread the screen froze, went to brown, then the dreaded Connection Lost Error Message. I'll log back in a few times to see how far I can get before I cash out for the night.
