      I was today years old when I found out that 'up' on the mini-map isn't actually North 🙄 Thank you!

      The thing I really want is the ability to 'tag' a non-infinite number of spots on my map for personal reference. Hoping that's one of the 'eventually' QoL things. 🤞 🙏

      I get this problem pretty much every test at some point, esp when the servers are busy - the first day I often just skip.

      It often happens that the world will load and then drop almost immediately back to the character screen with an error msg that the IoS server didn't like me for some reason. I have an old 'ThinkCentre' PC running Windows 10 with a factory GPU.

      Things improved a lot after the first alpha, but the 'Loading World' problem still happens occasionally.

      @Buc My workaround has been to start loading the world and go get a beverage or snack. If the world doesn't load by the time I get back, I try again. After 3 tries I go do something else and try again the next day or in the evening. I usually get in one one of the tries tho.

      I play in Tacoma WA (Pacific Coast US). I hope to upgrade my GPU before the game launches for real, but a new PC isn't a realistic possibility.

      Definitely a 'cosmetic' and not a tactical advantage, so right in line with the dev's vision for the game, and I'd definitely pay for that.

      As @FibS said, it may not happen for a while, but it's a great thing to have in our back pocket! I'd agree w FibS that battles should either have a common theme or nothing but the battle sfx to avoid distraction/advantage.

      Hoping this, and the ability to mute/ignore in the global chat, will be among the first of the QoL fixes once the devs can find the time. Probably the two most requested things that can and must actually happen eventually.

      I know, unloading a wagon IS work, and it's meant to be realistic, but the way it's set up now is just silly. @Kralith had a thread about this in the last full-length alpha.

      • It is one less thing to code
      • Towns will be sieged and food usage could matter
      • Not all towns will have easy access to food, and as such will be encouraged to trade with a farming town
      • If you want to semi afk chat with your friends, do so in a tavern/bar and make an evening of it, eating and drinking in game too
      • Resource sinks can be very healthy for the game
      • It is currently very easy to stockpile food, and if you are in town, you won't be far from a chest full of it
        • If food spoils in future iterations of the game, then it could be more bothersome, but probably wouldn't be that bad
      • If you are afk, you won't be needing to move around and can quickly eat something to jump into any random pvp
      • It is one less thing to code, break, and be exploited

      Lots of smart stuff said here that I hadn't considered. Glad I voted no!

      I really like the idea of being able to sit/lie down and recover endurance points a bit more quickly than just walking around but not as quickly as at a campfire. It would definitely be more realistic.
      Carrying around the makings of a campfire is how I've been rolling, but 10 stones are some real weight. If players could choose btw a campfire that instantly returns endurance OR a nap under a tree while they go pee, that would be awesome. HOWEVER: a napping person who is afk would need to know they are vulnerable to attack, unlike the campfire sleeper who logs out to stay safe.

      RE creatively prepared foods: the devs have told us there are plans for this. It's going to be way fun, I think! You can already boost the satiety % of several gathered foods by cooking them. One pumpkin, cooked = 4 wolf steaks. NOM

      As long as a person can limit/select accessibility for hearth, crafting stations & chests, I wouldn't have thought a door lock necessary... but a wagon in the living room, ffs? really? yeesh. Kids these days!

      It seems realistic to be able to lock/bar the door of a private dwelling, if one so chooses; but I notice that the first move @Zards makes is pondering how to pick that lock or any barriers a homeowner might want to erect to secure their abode. <deep sigh>

      This looks great but I think I'd go with the Ice AOE spell instead of the Shockwave. Maybe try both and see which works better, but I love to ice gangs of wolves. They go right down.

      In just a few game-hours, I think I talked 3 or 4 new players through the 'how to add a talent preset and memorize it' procedure. That's a clue the devs should be hearing. That said, the tutorial is way basic at this point. It doesn't tell a new player HOW to do much, it just instructs them to try to do things - not even rewards for figuring the things out and doing them. Not sure whether that's the plan for the long run, but I'd be all the way down with working on a real tutorial w/other players tired of answering basic Qs in chat.

      The melee mess is definitely a 'it is known' sort of thing. Complicated at the moment by the fact that close-range/unarmed mechanic is so buggy. Hoping they've have this straightened out for the next test. 🤞

      As far as being able to rebind hot keys goes, I wouldn't hold my breath. Devs have resisted every suggestion of that sort so far. I'm not an experienced MMO sandbox player, so I don't know why the WASD movement thing feels so important to so many people. I just roll with the game as it is. 🤷
