      There is a good bit of land scape and enviroment variability. You just have to travel there.
      The small stones problem is partially enviromental. Go to the Creeping or whispering woods and they are littered everywhere, while they are less prevelant in other areas. Just as certain trees / plants / animals / mobs / ores are regional.

      Developing the habit of carryig 10 stones and picking them up when you see them generally fixes the issue.

      Having low strength definatly makes this harder ! but that is all part of the stat and equipment/ talent choices which have consequences mentality of the game. As the tank I would carry 20 stones for the party of 4 to compensate for the weaker allies.. Again, the game is group oriented highlighting how diversity of allies is valuble.

      As a past solo mage I feel the pain, but even back then was able to keep 10 stones on me when adventuring... I just didant get to keep as much loot as everyone else XD.

      The cliffs are very intentional. Probably to guide player movement to make it more predictable for other players to set up ambushes - like bandits- and further encourage group actions for defense and offense. We had a teleport spell that you could use to go over mountains... it was patched fast, repeatedly, and hard. You can still go up and down some of the cliffs if you know the trick, but is a hassle.

      Right click attacks are your friend.

      There is a modest amount of player support from players via the wiki and the forum. We were hoping that Gamigo would pick up the work and make it all shiny and nice... they have not yet... Mostly people are unwilling to look, which is sad.

      the practicality of being able to leech of of towns is too high to instead have some hermitage.
      Also many towns have house spots that are far from the town, like in this picture:

      each of those brown squares are potential houses, all connected to the city, but all a good distance from it.

      country or 'wild' housing has been mentioned and used in past, not much action.
      The governors dont get to set the house price outside of town, or the upkeep price (1k/week currently). They just get half of the proceeds.

      AI 'guards' have been talked about a lot, said they would be implemented, but not high on priority list.
      Mostly as gate or mining node deterrents.

      Make it cost 20 logs, 20 cloth, 10 rope, and 10 stone blocks (for the fireplace to heal death debt) and I could see it being reasonable.
      Not too cheep that people just do it all the time.
      Not so expensive that it would be unreasonable for a group to gather or travel with.

    • Forge placement bug still

      The forge can still be placed such that part of it is outside of the claim space and it obstructs player movement. If neighboring players did this strategically they could block off the cobble stone roads into a town.

      Rather disappointed that no skills or equipment will be given to players... especially since it takes so long to build a city up to get access to them. Sigh... So we are just going to be running around in rags and hide for the test?

      And the Fleshing beams are down by the river or behind some of the buildings and look like this:

      And when crafting an item, realize that there are multiple resource options, not just the one shown by default;

      This same pattern works if you want to use different hide/wood/cloth materials for an item.

      Wait and see for some news post.
      Likely options are:
      they unlock all skills, give everyone max talent points, and a chest full of generic items. They did this last pvp free weekend alpha.
      they give you the standard starting situation of 5 unlocked skills and needing to learn/hunt/craft everything from bottom up. Which would kinda suck... But if all they care about is testing servers under load and the new basic mechanics of ranged and melee attacks... it'll do.

      It would be really cool !
      but also difficult to code? for the motion of the players + motion of the ship + projectiles. And then to have some sort of collision code to stick the ships together for boarding actions.
      Underwater would probably also have to be instanced, involve 3 dimensions of movement, and a new stat 'breath'... So, unlikely...

      Glad to hear some of the major issues were patched and ready to be tested.
      Some gaming will be very welcome ! It will be interesting to see what kind of population we can get to with the gamigo presence boost.
      I really hope that the 'toggled combat mode' includes a freeze on opening the inventory. I am worried that it dosent as you did not specify that.

      Will we be getting all skills unlocked and all talent points known ? For testing? And access to all equipment?
      Will we be able to claim city spots?
