@Ostaff well, the titles I saw, on the kickstarter page were all tending towards the understandable sorts of things; nobility for humans, benevolent druidic for the beast races, and tyrannical for the demons.
It would be cool if there were actually different styles of government, namely that cities on Arboreus have some sort of communal structure with a leading 'wise-man/woman', while humans have a single ruler either elected or suffered by the populace, and the demons were kept in line (and from destroying their own cities 😛 ) by a tyrant powerful enough to do so.
I imagine this will happen to some degree, considering it is all up to the players and character tendencies will be reflected in race choice, but there probably wont be all that much difference between most cities, because, well, the players are all (relatively) normal people 😕

@Xzait that is a good point; will living space/habitations be different on the different worlds? and exactly how does a demon city work?

Are there still going to be land claims throughout the map? or is it just around cities?
I don't remember there being anything specific in the spotlights.

Also, what happened to the map? I assume it is being updated and will be back before the test?
Another map question, can you zoom out, or rather could you, is there any way to get a full view of the map on the website? It seemed a little clunky to move around, was there some feature i missed?

@Bernu sorry mate, i may be the master of a guild composed entirely of two brothers and a friend, and i may have to swallow most of my pride, but even alone, i will lead my own guild! 😛
Also, Crownless Order is EU based right?

    • RE: Nokes Folly

@Ostaff well, thats actually kind of the point; i realised i was trying to 'sell' Mythopoeia, and i didn't want to do that. As much as I really want to be the leader of a guild like that, right away, I guess I'll just have to swallow my pride and start at the beginning like everyone else 😕
I am admittedly bad at recruitment 😕 and wouldn't even be trying it if i didnt need so many people to claim a city.
Once again, a matter of pride; I want to have my own city and guild full of people that think my ideas are great, and do what I tell them 😛 I guess I'll just have to start out as the Squatter King and hope people join me over time 😃

Actually, I do now recall that I didn't realise the northern one was a starting town, I saw it, but I thought it was a dungeon or something 😕

    • Geopolitical Survey :P

I am curious as to which starting town players choose; I personally first chose the southern town, because the surrounding area looked nice, but afterwards always chose the northern because it was closer to enemies and resources.

      Anyone else?

    • Mythopoeia (modified)

Rather than my previous ideal of a city devoted to knowledge, artisanship, and peace (though these shall remain ideals)
which was, to be honest, more than a little pretentious on my part, I shall now be attempting, once again on the assumption that enough people join me in the attempt, to build a city, not at a hub of trade, craft and adventure, but close to the starting cities, where new players can safely find a stepping stone on their journey in this brave new world; whether to become mighty in their own right, or to join the ranks of a mighty guild.

A place where travellers can stop for the night, and find a smith to repair their equipment, an enchanter to make use of their hard won reagents, or a merchant to buy their spoils of war; a farmer to sell them food.

Blessed are the timid hearts that evil hate,
      that quail in its shadow, and yet shut the gate;
that seek no parley, and in guarded room,
through small and bare, upon a clumsy loom
weave rissues gilded by the far-off day
hoped and believed in under Shadow's sway.

Blessed are the men of Noah's race that build
their little arks, though frail and poorly filled,
and steer through winds contrary towards a wraith,
a rumour of a harbour guessed by faith.
      + + +
I would that I might with the minstrels sing
and stir the unseen with a throbbing string.
I would be with the mariners of the deep
that cut their slender planks on mountains steep
and voyage upon a vague and wandering quest,
for some have passed beyond the fabled West.
I would with the beleaguered fools be told,
that keep an inner fastness where their gold,
impure and scanty, yet they loyally bring
to mint in image blurred of distant king,
or in fantastic banners weave the sheen
heraldic emblems of a lord unseen.

We are the few, the humble.
We are the unlucky, the unskilled, the unperturbed.
We are they that greet our enemies courteously, and are by them soundly thrashed.
We are those who rush to the aid of our comrades only to have them defeat the enemy single handed while repeatedly reviving our sorely embarrassed corpse.

I have resigned myself to the fact that I am, frankly, rubbish at online games, and indeed only do reasonably well at single player games because I can exploit the coding of the NPC's.

Therefore, I wish to invite all those who, whether due to inexperience, poor luck, or sheer lameness, just suck at MMO's, to join me in a guild that has no drive to conquer this new universe, or to defeat all others, but simply to play the game, as well as we can, and see what happens.

That being said, anyone that is actually good at this game can join too, or anyone that isn't good at it yet, or who wants to play solo, but have a guild for the sake of the few occasions when it is helpful.

For myself, I am going to do some farming, build a city, maybe, craft some things, explore and see if I can help out some new players (though probably not so much until the finished game)

To brigand hall and dragon lair
Rides hero grim, and hero fair

From palace rich to tower high
The solemn sage bends wizard eye

The people crowd to see the face
of Pride and Glory, Charm and Grace

But listen; hear that laughing call?
crying "Blerum Blerum" to them all!

      P.S.
If anyone is wondering what happened to my previous attempt at a guild 'Mythopoeia', I will say only that Mythopoeia was a high and beautiful ideal, which, in my pride I thought worthy of leading, and which just didn't do particularly well at recruitment 😕

      P.P.S
The city of the same name, shall, should it ever be built, retain that name however.

    • Guild alliance: The city of many names

Not recruiting FOR a guild, but recruiting GUILDS 😛

This is for guilds, or solo players, interested in joining with other guilds/players to claim a city in the coming test, as described in my town planning post: https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/13407/the-city-of-many-names?_=1614474874364

Of course, anyone interested in joining my guild, Mythopoeia, is welcome to do so

    • The city of many names

Due to the changes made to the requirements for cities, most importantly the requirement of 20 citizens to claim a city, many smaller guilds, such as my guild, Mythopoeia, will no longer be able to claim a city for themselves.
Some guilds will likely take up residence in or around the city of a larger guild, and not mind much how that city is run, but I am sure there are other guilds, or even solo players, who would like to have the things a city can offer, but to also have a more weighty say in the affairs of that city than a mere squatter would have.

My suggestion is that some of the smaller guilds band together in a democratic union of guilds to appoint a governor and claim a city.

My first thought was that guilds of like interest might do this, but it occurred to me that such a union might in fact be better served from guilds with different, but not opposing, focuses; namely that one guild might primarily be in charge of farming, or crafting or PVE or PVP, and the other guilds prioritise the others, which would allow all guilds involved to pursue their foremost purpose, but be able to engage in the other aspects of the game at any time, as the other guilds have 'set them up'

      Two questions:
1: the palace blueprint mentioned in the founder packs; does anyone have any information on it? size? details? some pictures?
2:what background lore we know seems to be entirely from the forum ( https://fracturedmmo.com/feature-spotlight-1-three-races-three-gameplays/ https://fracturedmmo.com/feature-spotlight-2-universe-planets-travels/ ) there doesn't seem to be any lore, aside from creature knowledge, and the page things looted from legendary monsters (can you read those? it says they are pages right? how do you read them?) will the lore contained in the forum news, about the planets and the races and such, be included inside the final game? if so, how?
