Instant teleporting has ruined many games.
It also allows for massive pvp groups to float around to easily after being beat or to gank.
It ruins the economy.
It makes it harder to secure things (resources, Mobs) -

@Farlander I should have commented on this yesterday.
A lot~ and I mean alot of people in TSE are married and playing the game together.It would be unthickable to disallow groups of people from playing from the same place in this day in age~

I have a game called haven and hearth.
Character progression there is progress thought "study objects" what take time to study~ because of that the game is geared to pumping out as many study objects as possible and having as many alts since an alt can only study a few "study objects" at a time.In general it leaves a real bad taste in my month~ I use about 80-100 alts in that game.
-Alts for watching monster spawns (about 30 alts are used for just this)
-Alts for crafting (tailoring, mining, fighting, farming, butcher, cooking, ect)
-Alts for transporting (about 2 alts are used for this~ since its faster to teleport stuff back to home using an alt)Just to sort the alts I have to have account for each job (mazefarmer, mazewatcher1, mazewatcher2....)
It's become such a chore but to stay competitive you need to do it...the people resort to botting to keep track of stuff and have bots do small task...then more alts/bots are made....My point is alts will be used for small to great task regardless. the best you can do is reduce the need for them as much as possible.
rare monsters are camped by alt/bots in a lot of games.
I found the best way to protect rare mobs was place them in areas were people can't log out in. or get kicked out of the area. -

Think this might help narrow down the bug for magic shop @Prometheus
When trying to place Enchanting tables or wizard's bench the text will display
"This blueprint can only be placed in: Personal Land Parcel,"
it's missing that i can be placed in a magic shop.
This might be the same error that wont allow chest to be placed in the magic shop -

Deathmarks are already being added.
Make sure to always visit (sleep in) the nearest inn to where you'll be hunting.
The Valley of shadows is the hardest place and recommended group play~ -

Eastern Canada.
But I play mostly Solo and interact with people who are working on the wiki, Game websites and spreadsheets.
Pretty much just gathering all the necessary data.
A bit of scouting of the world to see if anything is snuck in.Then I mostly log off and work in the spreadsheets for the rest of the test~ with a once a day log on to test or see something.

This Alpha was to test talents and Citys~ But also to work out some bugs.
We're missing a lot of things that make citys~ citys.
A few more updates will come out this week and there is plenty of bugs the devs are still working thought.
The game was not meant to maintain players atm.The best solution to possible even try would to put in very hard world bosses, or a dungeon/raid.

RE: Enchantments 1h weapon + shield vs. 2h weapons
I currently don't see the problem. 2h has higher Base damage, they are meant to be DPS weapons.
Shields enchants don't have any damage modifiers on them. -

@Razvan Poison statues Immunity. It means you can't get the poison debuff. You can still be hurt by poison skills.

the spear node "Pokearm mastery" Might include quarterstaff~ not sure yet
But I was trying to only comment on the current alpha.Comparing 1h vs 2h weapons~ Shields does not have weapon damage bonus.
The new bonus from wood- I admittedly didn't think of~ but would not give a larger boost either, at the most 30 damage.I would like to believe there is no overall best weapon, but at the same time that is unfortunately not true.
During these current test there is so little to divide the classes into anything other then DPS.
As for most one handed weapons are just subpar; you normally end up taking more damage since you can't burst the enemy down in 6-8 secs with spear/quarterstaffDagger is my favorite weapon, it has been driving me nuts how under powered they are to everything else.

I both agree and disagree with somethings in this thread.
Namely locking people into a trades does not seem effective in games.
People will make alts to get around mechanics- ie to do all the trades.It would defiantly be better if we had a system inplace where you would need to put time and effort into any profession you're doing.
Research, Quest, Blueprints/recipes, protostypes, rare resources, and so on.

Playing with melee~ possible new meta
Just doing some testing with some of the weapons with the new talents.
the range, the aoe and damage. seeing how the weapons work in the current alpha.
I didn't add any enchants mainly because there was no point. testing them at base gives the same effect.The results I found; with the new talent's:
Quarterstaff with the talent "Shield Breaker" This boost DPS and gives you a free stun randomly.
On top of it's already passive of to Stun.
5% seems tiny but it happens way more often; and in group mob packs you'll see the mobs get stun very often.
With the new armor update crushing has become even more powerful. every mob currently in Alpha has low Crush armor.
So you'll be seeing boosted DPS hit with crushing + "Shield Breaker"
After more testing I was able to burst most mobs down quickly and keep a few mobs stunned locked.I think we'll be seeing more Mace/ Quarterstaff builds because of this talent.
We already do see people stun locking mobs to death. this talent just added to it.so that's my conclusion for now~ Quarterstaff is the new king of melee.

spear has been king of Melee for along time. Namely for its high base damage, it's extra range the ability to hit all enemy in front of you.
The spear only benefits from a few melee talents.
it's damage is the highest (during the video we saw crits of 500)
it's speed is average (out of the 3 melee speed slow, average, fast)Dagger

The dagger has long been the underdog of the melee meta.
We'll likely see it more in the future when enemys have much higher armor.
It's group clear is the worse of the melee weapons.
it's new talent "Swash buckler" can be a hit or a miss, I find it's very bad compared to "relentless"

I find not a lot of people use the axe.
It's damage, damage type and speed are the same as the Dagger.
The Axe is also considered a light weapon, so you can pick up all the light weapon damage talents.

I'll be fair. this one surprised me.
It's Aoe is the same range as a spear, maybe a little wider.
It's damage, we hit a few 500's in the video, it cleared just as fast as the spear.
it's speed is average again same as spear.
But the game changer was the talent.
we picked up the "Shield breaker" talent. what gives us 5% chance to use the skill bash a good stun.
It went off a lot more then I expected it to and dealt a lot more damage because of it.Club

This one felt weird it; it was AoE but it stop hitting the enemy randomly sometimes.
it stun from "Shield Breaker" talent went off A LOT.
you could likely make a guild called the billy bat police, go around waking people with clubs and perma stun them.
It's damage largest crit was 350.
It's Fast attack speed.

RE: Talents. limit of 60 points.
I do both group and solo play. Currently 60 feels like I have to much.
But I also don't like the current talent tree~ it feels to small and to little options. -

The Talent Tree is currently in alpha and a lot of work should be expected-
I feel the current style of the Talent tree both lacking, unrefined and hard to expand on.Talent tree points is capped at 60 and gives you a limited selection of nodes and some of the nodes are much more powerful then others making a "meta" of chooses.
One of my proposals is to make each node have a cost of points rather then a single point; this would help future balancing with some nodes being strong and others weaker.Going down a path
Inorder to get the "titan fighter" node you need to go down both the PERC and DEX tree.

to make a more simple talent tree that can be later expanded
it would feel much more relational to unlock other tree's once you invest 5 points into a tree.
say you put 5 points into "DEX" then 5 points into "Perc"
You then unlock a new page "Critical Opening" and so on.
I'd still rather the current circle tree~ but more of path of exiles like (https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree)
With tons of micro stats, little nodes that give a small bonus and then major bonus more spread out.
rather then being able to build off more then 1 direction. I rather see it only being able to start at one of the major starts then.
with a larger tree, and many more micro nodes we'd see many more personalized builds.Another problem i find with the current tree is perc + Int tree. it's just a mage tree and for staffs only. This is one of the reasons I wanted to make the feedback of the talent tree. these branches just feel weird.
"inevitable" this is a very powerful talent. Any skill basically never misses. I find this might get out of hand with other skills in the future.
"Swashbuckler" This feels under powered. Mags get power caster while dagger what are already under powered get a chance to avoid armor once 30% of the time. I've been able to hit more damage with spears then with daggers with swashbuckler activated.
"Martial Artist" + "Master Pugilist" these feel very underpowered in the current meta ontop of it being the weaker version of "Shield breaker" talent
"Relentless" feels like the better swashbuckler skill. stack attack speed
"Mongoose Kin" immunity to Poison Statues. I'm not sure why this is a thing. it feels weak as poison can be cursed with Herbal Remedy already....not to mention there is a skill that does this even better.
"Sage" this is a pretty powerful talent. simply can use 3 focus skills.
"Power caster" another very good talent for mages. It's a always get for magic users.

So many recruiters have just been straight up spamming that is driving people nuts.Global chat needs to be refined, and muting needs to be added.
Faction/ town/ guild/ party chats need to be also added.
