@benseine i guess it will be a long way to balance PVP while Alpha and Beta... that will be our task to give DS response about it. But i think it is simply too early to state anything out of a simple screenshot with simple imagined values.
Yes, we see this values, but i think they are not even that what we get at the end.
And i agree i see it same, fair fights, good designed sieges and other interesting competitions is, what us all leaded to Fractured. Just hope DS will follow this path. -

@gothix i have VIP and i did not voted, because some reasons.
For first, i am not able to pick a point, since i don‘t know how much the skillsystem will affect in real the gameplay. As we all don‘t know and i am sure the posted values in the screenshot will not be the values that we have at the end.
Second, because i am a very bad PVPer, even i try it, but i will be the first who will not like a overpowered Rul0r who spit and laugh at me when i bite the dust.
Third, not every VIP will have a real advantage out of the possibilities, since i know for sure, that we have people in the community who don‘t mind the advantage of a VIP nor will use it to its most effective way. Some will maybe just use the advantage of Carpenter NPC.
Fourth, we discuss something that we don‘t even know how it really will be ingame. But i think you are true if you want another form of spell in its higher level than just increased DPS. But even with this, there will be so many skills that you can use, just a single DPS skill is nothing worth against a player who chose wisely counterspells.
And last, in evey game the veteran who „mastered“ the knowledge about a game will be better than the newbie who first has to learn, how to handle the mechanics.
I don‘t think the newbie will say „oh there are still so many veterans, there is no point to start that game“, because he/she will know, if he starts later, there will be people who simple know more about the game and how it works. Someone who really like the game concept will have way more advantage in the first days than a veteran ever had, becuase there will be much more informations/guides be out there that will make the newbie life way easier than our first Fractured steps will be. -

You don‘t buy Knowledge points with VIP, you just earn them faster. So it is just a time saver. And they stated just such points from unlimited sources, that means, you won‘t get more possible KP than others and its made for people who like to be completionists.
But i‘m sure we will soon know what DS is meaning with different Knowledgepoint gain. Because if they say, there are KP out of unlimited source, there will be limited KPs too. -

I can understand your thoughts about this and the fear behind it.
But for first, they just said a new player is equal to an old player and i was interpreting always this way, that it is meant into pure character stats, means, if you compare each character „naked“ to each other with same skillset, they are equal. Not like in other games, where a level 1 character is more weak than a level 20 character, because it‘s character values raise with each level.
So DS never lied in thi case.Also they said, that Knowledge makes you stronger.
That makes much sense in my eyes, because why we should collect knowledge if it does not give us advantage?
So it will be so, that an old character with more Knowledge will be stronger than a fresh player.
Also not lied about this case by DS.And then, they also said, that theoretically a new player can defeat an old one. This is caused in chosing the right skills at the right time. Especially since DS said, that the first level of skills are easy to get.
My example was always if a new player chose fire resistance, then an old player with super hot fireball but no Armor can do nothing against him and the new player just can hit him down with his Axe.As for the values, we not even know how it feels ingame or how they will solve not to give a too high gap between player.
For Balancing discussions we really should wait till we did first steps ingame. -

I would like such system, where social interacting give you some in advance.
Like if you are running a tavern you get a temporary barkeeper buff for an special amount of visiting player, while you are there and giving out beer and wine and food.
Or as a barde, if people tip you, you get a special „Well played“ Buff.
Also i can imagine a special mentoring program.
Or or or... -

Well true @Gothix, but just for this kind of fast throw on market games. Even big studios needs years to develope real good games and they will have same „problem“ with used engines. Except they develope their own engine beside the game and can update the Engine and game at same time.
