    • RE: The arrival of KS boyss!

@blob The crowdfunding will be continued on the Website later, they need to insert the shop for it first.
Packages and stretchgoals will be available there, except the kickstarter only goals.

      Hallo Selly 😉

    • RE: [Discussion] Ingame currency system, what we want to get?

      Exactly @gothix
Also to mention, that the planets are not really disconnected from each other. We live on a fractured planet system, where all mights want to get the absolute might.
So i still prefere to let grow up special resources as our „currency“.
I‘m quite sure, that rare metals and cystals and magical elements will become the most valuable ones and for this reason the currency we pay each other.

They all can learn from this.
I am quite sure this business will hit again in some kind.
And i also see very possible ways for a real support by Unity.
      All depends on negotiations.

...and how their own platform will running.
A good Engine developer don't has to be a good network developer too.

      @myux Gear is not worthless.
They never said a new player can be same good everywhere on the world as an experienced player.
They just say, in 1to1 they are basically same.

You will need gear and gear is much more important as you imagine right now.
Simple examples they gave us while Q&As: If you want to go into a very cold area, you need to wear warm clothes otherwise you will probably die.
This example is portable to all other examples.

Also the Skillsystem, an experience player will lose against a new player if just by chance its abilities counteract each other. The BigSuperFireMage can easily defeated, when the new player has fire immunity.

In this system it is all about knowledge.
And not just knowledge you earn ingame, also about figuring out how synergies are work and which combinations of skills are best for the special situation.
      Thats a huge longtime motivation.

    • RE: Alpha end of 2018?

Prometheus said in his lasts posts they expect the Alpha at the end of the year and i think thats a good timeframe.
Nothing to blame about this 😉
And i think we all are excited, what will come.
It takes the time it needs, better we get a good developed alpha later than a too fast too much unfinished game.

Thank you Jacopo for the Update.
The things we have to expect for Alpha 1 are quite good.
I don't think anyone expect a finished game, so i think we know what we will get 😉

must've felt good when you found out the Unity Fiasco was a big scare!

But we could have renounced it all.
On the other hand, it was an important step for the gaming industry to solve that on their level.
And we never can be sure, it not can happen again.
Gaming Industry is the same black business as others are.

    • RE: A Point of Concern: "Horizontal Progression"

Yes @therippyone, thats the point, Jacopo said in the past, that they carefully read the suggestions and discussions.
So we should assume, think, imagine and talk about, that they are able to polish their own vision about it.

I saw in many answers, that Jacopo has a clear view to the vision of Fractured, but is also thinking well about the input of all the ideas.
Even the Roleplay themes, that he obviously not targeted much. 😉

    • RE: protecting your settlement

@chrightt To restrict building just in special housing areas would be against the sandbox they mentioned.
Housing areas are great for Themepark MMOs, because the world itself is static.
But i bet most player who are attracted by the sandbox element would drop the game if the sandbox is not a real sandbox.
And if we get a real sandbox, then there is a must have for defending elements for building.
There can be a claimsystem, that secure the space for the owner, but even this claim should be possible to siege.

For me personally it would be a totally minus for Fractured if the sandbox will be just instanced and seperated from the world we walk through.

@muker Thats okay, because it does not need for every news a newsletter.
Even people want to get more points to reach the rewards, it would be very annoying, if there will be an email for each news as @Logain mentioned. But who knows, maybe Jacopo just forgot about it and will send one before he is going to his vacation. 😉

Well, restrictions are okay. Just let hope, the limits are not that hard, that the world is empty, because player just st sit in their houses somewhere in the nowhere-housing areas. 😛

    • RE: protecting your settlement

@chrightt Yes, i know this systems, but the fear about seperated housing areas/places are the not social acting community.
I know especially in Archage, where the housing spaces was hoarded by a few player and new player had almost no chance to get a free space.
I would suggest a more opposite system:
The devs should create restricted areas around their own settlements and places they don't want to get changed and the player can build outside in the world wherever they want.

I can just take again Salem as an example:

      • Maintown of Salem is an restriced claim by Devs, also all traveling points are restricted, so noone can build there anything.
      • Outside of the world it is possible to build at any place your own settlement. When you build a settlement, then you claim an area depending on the ingame money you wanted to spend. Between 2 claims there is a non claimable area of 3 tiles, so you can't overlap claims and it is always possible to travel between them.
      • There are some bigger towns in Salem, but not "one mega town", because the player itself regulating the placement. Especially the bigger towns don't want another one next to them, in reason of free space and ressources and the possibility to expand the town later. So they questioned the too close settlement owner (if they was lucky, they did it friendly) to move elsewhere.
