    • RE: Where is Fractured advertised?

I don't want the devs to spend any money on advertisement. That's just a waste of money. They should spend time on reaching out to the community though, when they have more to show. We'll need people playing this game on youtube, twitch, ... to get people to know about this game.

Ha, the new Spamengine is working well, when i wanted to change a just posted entry, because of grammar, it was flaging my post as Spam 😄

Same thing here. I don't call that 'working well' though. I'm going to have to learn to proofread.

Right now, on the bottom of my screen there is a red text-balloon going round and round. It drives me crazy!

@nightcoder said in Whats the game engine?:

That's not good news. Not having to waste previous dev time dealing with lags is exactly the reasons to opt for such a 3rd party platform in the first place.

I'm not saying that Spatial OS is causing this lag. Before today I had never heard of that game. It's the only game I found when I googled for "Spatial OS MMO". I haven't played that game. I don't know how big the performance issue is or how long they have been having it. Maybe it's just one of those - oh so common these days - we're out of money, we'll release the game.

Years ago, I backed a kickstarter campaign for a MMORPG that used Hero Engine. A few years ago the devs of that game switched to Unreal Engine, because of issues with Hero Engine. Those devs didn't have enough money, so they used all the assets they had created to make a survival game and put the MMORPG on hiatus. Recently they sold the MMORPG to the owners of Hero Engine. That MMORPG will probably be finished at some point in the future, but it won't be the game the original devs promised. Of course Hero Engine and Spatial OS are two completely different beasts.

I've had some disappointing experiences with all kinds of games I backed on kickstarter or purchased in early access. These days I back merely because I want the devs of a game to have a chance at trying to make the game they want to make. If we don't do that, then all we'll ever get to play in the future will be cheaply made one man indie games and big budged games made by economists/psychologists.

    • RE: Suggestion: Disable ability for fresh accounts to post

I haven't seen any spam threads/posts at all. So whatever the mods are doing now, works fine.

I recommend against any kind of quarantine. I only created an account when I wanted to post something. I had been lurking around here before that. It would have been a real bummer if I had to wait three days or if my post had to be manually approved. It's treating everyone as a potential criminal.

    • RE: Whats the game engine?

Unity is used in many games I've played, from Hearthstone to Cities:Skylines. Unity is for the client side only. I've played great looking games, made in Unity, Cryengine and Unreal. As a player, I've never noticed the difference.

SpatialOS is more obscure. I've only found one MMO made with SpatialOS: Worlds Adrift. The steam reviews are 'mostly positive', but the game has lag problems.

I listen to the ingame music. It's made especially for the game and adapts to what's going on around you.

@warpuppy said in [Discussion] Ingame currency system, what we want to get?:

In a way, I actually prefer the thought of a barter-ish system. It makes gathering resources that much more impactful.

It makes getting the items you want a lot harder. The devs have said that they don't want a grind to get items.

we are in a fantasy word, everything is possible.

Oh, I got one of those in real life. I can magically spend money I don't have.

@suruq From what I know it's not that simple. The whole system for sending newsletters needs to be fixed and I don't have an ETA on that.

Can't you add poor @suruq to the mailing list?

i just looked through albion online and i find it hilarious that people were lugging wagons around as they walked...

In most games we walk around with a lot of items, that somehow are invisible and don't slow us down. That is convenient but weird.

    • RE: NO tank mages

I'm going to play a mage that wears a light robe and caries a wooden. I'm going to walk in front of you, knock on the ground with my staff and say "ye shall not pass". Then I'll die.

I just hope that we will be able to pick the things we like and not have to pick certain builds because they are better than others.

@jetah said in Kickstater backers vs Fracturedmmo.com backers:

      @00
I'd suggest they raise the prices

Buying alpha 1 access once alpha 1 is live, should be either more expensive than the current price of €150 and tomorrows price of €200 or the packages should contain less than the current Knight package.

The price of the base €25 tier shouldn't be raised in a few months, that should only happen closer to launch.

and remove some of the top tier packages.

The €5000 tiers won't be there anymore, they have already sold out. The €450 and above tiers will still be available for purchase, but they are limited, so at some point stock will run out.

    • RE: Fractured illusion?

Obviously the Fractured game isn't real. There will be a game called Fractured in a few years, but there isn't one know. It won't be the game I made up in my head though. It won't even be the game made up in the devs head. But, we all hope it will be a great game.

    • RE: When does Foundation end?

The devs want an active community. Not everyone will be in the alpha-test. So I doesn't make sense for them to turn it off completely. They will probably change it at some point, because https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/274/daily-message-posting ...

    • RE: Holiday in-game events

Yes, the devs should make some holiday recipes and store cosmetics. I hope we'll get a lot of possibilities to make our houses and towns unique. I dislike games where all houses look the same.

    • RE: Kickstater backers vs Fracturedmmo.com backers

If I remember correctly. All non-early bird packages will be available for purchase after the kickstarter. All monetary stretch goals will continue after the kickstarter, but the number of backers stretch goals won't. So let's hope we get another 92 backers in the next 23 hours, so we'll get the unique spell effects. Don't know where I read that though, I did a search but couldn't find it.

@randalf said in Backers/founder rewards with little very soft slight effect?:

an almost unperceivable bonuses (0,1% in something) totally unable to have real effect, so completely far from effect interaction between players

If the best weapon in an mmo is 0.1% better than the second best weapon, all players will want the best weapon and the second best weapon will be something for noobs only.
