items could have a base stat then have a magic profession, usually something like enchanting, that adds magical attributes to it, which can be RNG to an extent.
I like Path of Exile where any common item could become a well crafted item.

@Pwnstar
i like the work order list, but i'm assuming that was for crafting dailies or similar. it would be amazing to have that for request for players. The player heads to your shop, chats with the NPC on the order they want, deposit the materials; if any, then the item is made when the shop owner is online. Since the player put the order in they can remove it after 6-24 hours, incase the shop owner is offline for an extended time.
@Tuoni said in New Race Idea:
Lets say a player starts to play as Erwydra in mind to play as a caster. What if he wants at some point try out tanking.. Okay he could, but then he would be quite squishy one. DS advertises Fractured to be classless system where you can knowledge everything. I see here a contradiction. Even you have the freedom of choise, you are still somehow locked to focus certain strengts you choose at the character progression. Many new players can later regret their choises what they have made at the beginning and I dont personally want to see that. These are the reasons why I want to see as less as possible any race differencies, and it does not matter if its related to combat or professions.
At the end this is just my opinnion, you have yours and others have their own. I truely understand your point of view as well and I can imagine how some people agrees with you. I will still stick with my POV.
Fractured says it's classless but never says you can be a master of everything. It only says there are no limitations on the knowledge you can learn (karma aside). So you can learn everything but you'll never be the best at everything.
You want to pick a race and be the best at everything and that wont happen (with the current design). DS needs revenue and selling character slots is a revenue point. It would be better from a min-max point to have each of the races and gear them appropriately for their strengths.
Maybe in the future they'll allow stat reallocation but as of right now it's locked in and you'll get a few points from somewhere as I forget the exact place.
@Tuoni
you aren't designed to master every part of the game. you need to focus on your strengths.
I'd love to see races which excel at certain gathering, certain races excel at certain types of combat, certain races excel at certain crafting. while each race is open to whatever you want to do, it would be pretty bad to get a high strength race and decide to only cast spells with them.
@Tuoni
it depends on how the attributes affect crafting.
but if combat races gain advantages with attributes then professions should too! you could have a blacksmith (high strength) which might be bad at precision (cloth). etc.
did we mention non-cosmetic rewards, because i don't see it mentioned.
but the combat people have advantages over the professionals.
there could be a Beastkin that better for finding animals (high scent animal). one for minerals while another for crafting. Humans are meh, jack of all trades type and they have technology. Demons could be the similar as the Beast.
example:
Rat race (like Kobols, for Tartarus) have been miners for centuries. thus they get a bonus to harvesting and/or locating ore.
it'd be more of a wish list than a builder though. as you dont know when you'll unlock a certain skill for your build.
yes it would be nice to have the knowledge tree outside of the game.
so why do combat progression get advantages whereas if you're interested in a profession you get nothing specific for it?
@Meiki said in Will there be fast traveling?:
@Tuoni With the exception of Eclipse, when demons have nearly no-effort access to Syndesia, it requires to find the gate and activate it. Unfortunately details are unknown to me, but it has been said to open a portal between planets, you need to have a group as it is a group-effort activity and that demons have easier time doing it due to Babilis' blessing.
I watched Stargate. we need a computer, coordinates and too much power!
I hate fast travel but i do love teleport pads. Diablo and Path both have them but it could be cool if the players had to build them. The system could be setup similar to Eve Online Stations. You need lots of materials. Real craft time of 30 days. Then it has to be activated. Restrict them to only being Cities of x size which would give an incentive to upgrade the towns to something bigger.
snitching on the bugs and them being fixed are completely different.
races with economic advantages are perfect targets for my demon!
but if some races do focus on certain combat styles, why can't certain races focus on certain harvesting or crafting styles? Camelot Unchained will have classes specific for crafting and they'll need a solid guild or protection to head to areas needed to craft. I really like that even though I'm trying not to be a crafter/gatherer in games now.
@Tuoni
exploration aside, combat and crafting should be pretty obvious how to gain skill points and knowledge.
@Gothix
most of the time the guild unlocks it and everyone member after has free access to it.
@Pwnstar
it's the high end pack and includes all previous packs. so you're getting 4-6 packs worth of cosmetic content.
and i haven't even started on Star Citizen...
@Genobee
I haven't seen any higher recently, although i've only played in the last 2 leagues recently so it might have been when I was taking a break. But I do remember the $10k 'create a monster or item' tier packs.
explore and travel is a repeat action though. they have to program the knowledge somehow and it's usually done via nods (World of Warcraft uses invisible bunnies) which the user has to find. Once located it could be possible it's the same for everyone and that location can be sold.
it'll be interesting how it works out and who's to say those bars aren't invisible to the user so it seems like gaining knowledge is 'magical' not 'methodical'.
@VyrVandalous
too easy to exploit as a guild perk. just charge users to join so they get access to them.
@Tuoni
do you know it's possible to read old content and not respond to it.
@Tuoni
when you've been here long enough, you see the same questions being constantly asked. it's better to point them to the search bar.
