      odds are we'll have abilities on those 2 buttons

      again, I've mentioned at least 3 isometric games with WASD!!!!! the WoW thing was an example sense i didnt know if you've seen the videos of those WASD isometric games.

      i'm not sure why but you remind me of Finland.

      @Darian
      yeah. combat = no interaction with the environment. only problem I can see is "you're in combat" but you haven't for the past 2 minutes =/

    • RE: 4th race ideas?

      we had plenty in other topics, here was mine as a reply to someone saying they weren't a developer (to think of a race).

      Beast style

      Naga
      Turtle
      Honey Badger
      Lizard
      Bat
      Rabbit
      Human is pretty used up to me. I'd prefer to not see humans but some other beast and demon that are neutral but it is what it is.

      dwarf
      elf (really it's over used)
      Giant
      Humans could even have half human

      centaur
      Demon

      minotaur
      beholder

      @Tuoni @Meiki

      it's based on the planet you're on and alignment.

      no FF on Beast.
      no party FF on human, otherwise FF can exist.
      full FF on Tartaros. (might be no party FF on Tartaros too but I dont remember it exactly.)

      the idea is if a beast wants to swap alignment they'll have to be on the human planet to do that.
      and it'll make invading the beast planet much harder for Demons.

      at some point we'll need to test it, of course, and i'm sure DS may iterate it a few times.

      they'll feel unique for sure although the areas where they meet might feel similar.

      the gear system may prefer you stick to certain biomes but the knowledge system may persuade you to explore!

      @Goemoe

      this game, having full loot, and friendly fire, will remove 90% of the population. I don't see DS wanting it to become a very popular game but to have a well established base.

      they're also hoping that the raids on the beast planet keeps some of the population that hates pvp.

      Before implementing FF, devs needs to ask themselfs, why they want this feature to be part of their game? And does it bring enough value versus all the balancing and exploiting problems?

      i'm pretty sure they've already said it was in the game. it and ability interaction with the environment is (a few reasons) why i've backed it.

      it's the click to move part that can hit an interaction. only games with a forced move (poe and Diablo series) or WASD stop that.

      WASD can have 8 directions. if you need more precise then you'd use the mouse. but realistically you'd never need more than that. even WoW has a turn option, instead of strafe, which allows the person to move the character with more precision (it's bad tho). it's really only good for out of combat.

      WASD could be WS for north/south and AD for turn (again i'd hate this) or AD can strafe if the mouse is over a target (of any type). but that's fail a little in real combat.

      The real questions has not been answered though. How bug is 'huge' in your terms? How many days/weeks/months will the really active players spend to visit all places of one planet?

      Tartaros is smaller than the other two. so it'll be much faster to explore. My Demons will take a while to explore the beastkin planet because I can only get there via invasions and am limited to 30 minutes. so i either explore or try to fight for that duration.

      When moving is with mouse, it leaves easier access to use abilities from keyboard. For example Q, W, E, R, T, Y, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Trying to use abilities with WASD is harder.

      false. otherwise wow wouldn't have done it. WoW has 12 keybinds "1 through =", plus any additional you need, and uses WASD to move, plus moving the camera with the mouse. There's also modifiers with shift, alt, control so those 12 can be 84! while still using WASD to move and holding the rmb to move the camera!

      False? If you use mouse to move with your right hand then you have your left hand totally free for abilities on keyboard.

      @Prometheus (this is feedback on the current click-to-move too) and i've clicked on trees needing to move while being chased by a bear. only to attempt to harvest then die by said bear. you forget this game will have interaction with the environment, rocks, branches, flowers, ore, etc. anyone of those can stop your character and end in death. WASD would completely prevent it. Even with WASD your hand is still able to reach all the actions you'll need for Fractured, which is much less than WoW. I'm sure people will bind Shift to at least 1 ability and 1-x for the rest. The reason MOBA can keep click-to-move is because the environment isn't interactable at all or much less than in a MMO.

      Yes, in WoW you have more directions because moving camera is supporting WASD, but in Fractured moving is not like in WoW. You do not have that chance to turn camera and because of that you can only go 8 directions. Still waiting example of isometric game where you can have more directions in use with WASD.

      8 or 16 or 32 don't matter. i'm not sure why you're so caught up on it. for long duration travel using a key will be more comfortable than holding the mouse button.

      What valueable WASD moving systems brings on table what current click to move can not already handle?

      controllers can be setup to play the game where disabled individuals would have access. if the game was on console one stick would be movement, it'd be no different in this situation.

      I do not know what you mean by this, but the game is not designed for consoles.

      point was (hince the IF part) the movement would be similar to a console. direction with WASD is no different than direction with a stick/d-pad.

      @Darian What an unnecessary douchy comment man... Genobee´s concearn is a valid one! There are many ways to give your opinion without beeing rude. Maybe the dificulty due to mouse movement is a nice feature to make Fractured a more competitive game prone to favouring the better skilled player! I actually agree with you =D

      it's been a year.. somethings you just let die.

      @Tuoni

      I have seen both moving options in isometric games, but what it comes to similar games as Fractured or which have quite similar combat system, then click moving just feels more fluid option. Generally WASD moving is too angular in isometric games, but way better in games where you can change camera angle.

      I personally support devs choise here. This click to move works really well and smooth in Albion Online and I am sure it will in Fractured too. And I do not personally want to see people moving with 45 or 90 degree angles. Moving will also effect to combat why it is better go just with one option.

      how does moving a mouse feel more fluid when keeping the mouse over your target while letting your character move freely is more fluid? the animation of either movement method can be 8, 16 or even 32+ directions. WASD would function no differently than playing WoW with the keyboard while keeping the mouse fluid in movement.

    • RE: Funding

      best way to get people to back more is to offer single cosmetics. Once someone buys a 200$ pack i doubt they'll spend more when the next pack might be 400$.

      however, if pets, skill animations, emotes, or other cosmetics were up for sale then it could persuade people to toss them an extra 5-15$. I believe skins for items, mounts, pets, skills, etc will be added so those could be sold too. I'd highly suggest having seasonal variation which are only sold during that time or are specific to the year and season being sold. I would offer that after a set amount of time those items could be put back on sale for a limited duration (optional of course).

      DS could issue dynamight coins if a player buys something but they don't like it (instead of issuing a refund). IE you see concept art for a pyro blast, you buy it for 1$, they make it a few months later but you don't like it, you could refund the item for dynamight coins to buy something else at a later time.

      @Prometheus i'm sure you know this but eventually people will get to a point where they wont buy another backer pack.

      if there was a release date, it'd be in a news section on the website, on the announcements on the forums, on twitter, facebook, reddit mmorpg and fracture subs, and on nearly every video game website. it may even be as a banner next to the FRACTURED banner on this page.

    • RE: suggestion on attracting huge mass of new players to buy FracturedMMO

      @Gothix

      but demo's are heavily restricted. if they offer no general chat, no trade then it'd curb most of the spam and 'free farm account'. IF the demo accounts were on normal planets then an icon on the nameplate would be needed so that the general public can know they can't speak in general chat nor trade. I'd even say limit PMs otherwise they'd become PM bots.

      another restriction could be the number of demo keys available in a specific time frame. like 5000 per month or 500 per week.

      it could be possible to place the demo accounts in their own instance of the planet.
