RE: Opinion on Monsters after the alpha
@Specter said in Opinion on Monsters after the alpha:
@Jetah Cities on Arboreus can't be conquered. I don't know how the devs will deal with the limited city spots on Arboreus if they can't be conquered but they're safe from PvP.
it'll get stale over there and people will quit.

RE: How does this compares to other sandbox player driven mmos such as EVE, Albion, Runescape, etc?
my replies are also in that thread and the search bar will open more conversations about it.

RE: Opinion on Monsters after the alpha
you do know that the beastkin planet will be invaded by demons, right? they will have forced pvp just not nearly as much as the other 2 planets. there has to be a way for cities to change hands. they'll need some type of pvp system for that.
i wasn't speaking specifically about any planet. i was speaking in general.
the developer already stated the game will be solo friendly and that very little content will need groups for. that means what i stated above.
i promise you the pve group wont keep the game alive. they're pretty finical in that they'll jump games to something else when it releases.

RE: Opinion on Monsters after the alpha
i dont think there'll be much coop pve here. maybe a few raid bosses but Prometheus already said the game will be solo friendly which means it'll be boring for many of the groups. unless the mobs scale based on how many attack i dont see groups being needed outside of pvp.

RE: NPC Age
@Roccandil said in NPC Age:
I'm used to Might and Magic's age system (and it's been a while, so maybe I don't remember all the steps!):
- Young Behemoth: pretty easy kill
- Mature Behemoth: not too bad
- Old Behemoth: now it's getting hard
- Ancient Behemoth: run for your life
i'm thinking more in terms of Eve Online asteroid system. The asteroids gain resources the longer they're alive. you can mine them, leave 1+ and they'll regrow. or you can harvest it all and another type of resource may spawn. it's generally better to keep the valuable asteroids.
NPCs will mostly drop material so i'd think letting them mature would mean more resources per kill but you're deciding between now or later. i do like the idea that their stats increase the longer they're alive. maybe have a small chance for one to upgrade ranks until it's a boss.

i didnt attack them. i pointed them to previous post already made about the topic.

RE: ETA on developer forum?
@Specter said in ETA on developer forum?:
@Alexian @LilCassiopeia @Eurav @PeachMcD
Prometheus wants to add the developer forum but he's so busy right now he's unable to make time for it. In the meanwhile, maybe we can discuss what you would like to see in this developer forum. Many questions are already being answered in the other parts of the forum by Znirf and me, and updates are already being posted in the Fractured news section. What could the devs do to make this exclusive section unique and valuable to backers like you?
developer reasons or thoughts behind mechanics or the general reason why a thing is doing the thing.

RE: What challenges should guild alliances face?
combat will/should have a first contact, first damage. it was mentioned in the KS that a tank could intercept damage destined for other players. IF that system system is setup and the friendly fire has a limited amount of friendlies (lets just say it caps at 5 players in a party) then any other 'friendly' will get hit by said abilities.
when you bowl you can't hit the back center-pin first. you have to hit the front row first, either center or left or right. by these assumptions, it's logical that a group of 200+ can't attack a single wall or player. they'll have to attack the closest object which will be their own guild/alliance members. we may see more small group fights than zerg fights.
when i say abilities i also mean spells. i just didn't want to type it every time.

RE: NPC Age
young mobs - strong but naive, tend to be more aggressive, bigger agro range, follow you for longer distance before going back
middle age mobs - strong, more wise, more tactical, better AI, balanced agro
old mobs - bit weaker, but advanced AI, most tactical, playing defensively
old doesn't mean weak. many 40 year olds can beat 20 year olds. there's a video on a old giraffe that kills a young one. it wasn't about strength but experience. it happens in other animals too. i'm not talking about 'old age' like the last 15-10% of an animals life.

RE: Is this game similar to Albion Online?
you know it wont stop. someone next week will ask it again.
if you're offended and think i'm this way then that's on you because you didnt use the search function. I'm impressed you even made it to TF#5 before asking when you've been here for almost 1.5 years. you've been here long enough to know i'm not always like this. you've been here long enough to know how to use the search feature.

RE: Is this game similar to Albion Online?
@Tuoni
maybe people can't see the icon that allows them to search. maybe not hold everyones hand by giving them the answer when you can point them to answers that have already been asked and answered. -
RE: NPC Age
seems odd that it's younger mobs with better loot because if you're farming an area then you're naturally killing younger creatures.
seems to me the older mobs should have better loot and higher stats. they should be 'earning exp over a lifetime' and getting more loot (but really it's just crafting materials) over time too.

@Jetah getting mad at people for using the forum for what its ment for is pretty weird, it's not like the first page is full of is this game like albion posts.
Makes us look unwelcoming, complaining at a guy when hes just asking a question, hes not trying to be controversial, and hes not being rude. I dont see a problem with OP personally
i'm not made they made a post. i'm mad that they didnt bother to use a function of forums that have existed for two decades. there will be many more post about this too and i'll just point them to the search bar unless they mention they've already searched. which i've already discussed. i dont have a problem with the person, just the question they asked (without a simple search).
https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/post/124944 posted almost a month ago. nothing has drastically changed in the past month that would make the previous topic irrelevant.

RE: What challenges should guild alliances face?
i also think the whole isometric view will be a problem for zergs too. Only so many people can fit on a screen, thus only so many can attack an object. then add in friendly fire with no-clip with line of sight projectiles hitting the nearest object, it'll be pretty hard to blob things.

RE: Is this game similar to Albion Online?
@Medic said in Is this game similar to Albion Online?:
@Jetah is that necessary? Just wanted to ask the question for myself
it's been answered at least a dozen times. nothing has changed since the last time it's been asked.
in the time it took to get an answer (approx 2.5 hours) you could have just used the search bar to see if it's been asked. I would have not made a comment has you said something like "I searched and found a few post about this game being close or similar to AO, but I have these questions which weren't answered.".
The question you asked was "someone do the work for me" the one I mention is "I did some work but still have questions".

RE: Becoming an angel
@RNGinxed said in Becoming an angel:
Yeah I just usually don't play with an alignment as "evil" as the name sounds, more complacent most times, so I'd like my alignment to be positive even with a "demon" so def a goal to become an angel for the quest of it all, sounded like a really cool idea
in video games, it's a matter of perspective. 'evil' for one faction is 'good' for another, which can be 'neutral' for another.
if there are no rules then there's no 'evil' and no 'holy'.

RE: Opinion on Monsters after the alpha
already mentioned that the game will be solo friendly. very few mobs will require a team to kill.
