why can't the merchants fight back?

Only issue with that is that I need far more infomation fed to me lol
yep.
I'd like to know more specifics on their intended monetization. Examples would be great.

Not all the developers are coders or art. Znirf first post said he is a CM, nowhere does it mention he codes.
That is just an assumption on your part. CM is not his only job in the team: link text Just as Prometheus is not only playing boss
dude could be cleaning toilets then grabbing latte's or lunch from the local cafe (after washing hands of course).
@Farlander
I like that the Foundation gives rewards for being simi-active on the forums. So I give DS a 5/5 stars on that one, right now I'd be Reddit or not paying attention to the game, otherwise.
@Farlander said in Fractured - a living world?:
Just as long as you can't kill important npcs that generate quests, sell items etc... Otherwise you will have players going around and killing them for the fun of disrupting the community. Read here about something in WoW that happened lol
iirc only quest we can get is the angel/demon/litch quest. those specific npc's could be hidden to everyone else.
that i'm aware, only players can sell stuff. we haven't heard officially, or at least i dont remember, if players can put a npc seller at our house or in a city.

Feature Spotlight #7 - Towns, Governors & Politics Jul 20, 2018, 6:25 AM • Prometheus
spotlights are in depth details about a topic. we haven't had one in over a year.
again, Znirf doesn't code. they could be writing the spotlights and let Prometheus sign them to be published. or Prometheus could post them after Znirf writes them.
we still don't know much about crafting or the expected systems.

(...) I'm not sure they have time. Actually another spotlight is due! the last spotlight was july 2018...
I'd much rather they focus on development right now. The recent conversion was a massive step for them, but one that threw their schedule out of the window.
If they dont communicate ideas they're working on then why would someone join if the last spotlight was over a year ago. we're (the forum community) is at a point where nothing new has been talked about.
Not all the developers are coders or art. Znirf first post said he is a CM, nowhere does it mention he codes. So they have 1 person who could be writing post, letting Prometheus
sign off on it, then posting it. Having Prometheus take 30 minutes to read over the post is much better them him spending 3 hours writing it up.
I backed for certain stated ideas. If they revert no lootboxes, for example, then what else would they revert? What if they revert the 'no P2W' statement and start selling grossly OP weapons and armor specific to counter those weapons? What if they revert the 'dress for your destination' by selling gear that works everywhere? What if they revert the 'travel takes times' by selling teleport stone(s)?
I backed because of the statements presented pre and during kickstarter. If they renege on that they I'm out.
@Basileus
Eve has P2W as one faction can buy more ships and gear for alliance wars. There was one guy that spent $70k and his alliance still wasn't winning. which could mean the other alliance spent more.
One counter is how fast you can earn ISK vs using a credit card.
We're wanting weapon cosmetics, in the similar idea behind illusion magic, where you can physically equip a caster staff (and thus those spells) but have a cosmetic skin of a sword (example).
@Xzoviac said in Fractured - a living world?:
Are the npcs, in fractured going to move around, hunt eat kill monsters near there citys, maybe join the local king/tyrants military.
Even if we are not getting many quests, it would be nice to get a feel/connection for npcs.
Be like oh shop keeper Eric had just died, and his shop has shut down, or his daughter has taken over, and said npc is sad about the loss of her father...
I like npcs and I feel like they make a world feel alive, I hope fractured npcs are not just shop drones with no feel movment or memorability
Not just town npcs either, maybe goblins for example speak goblin (and you can learn the language?)
Hear a plan to raid a town, over a period of say 2-3game days the goblins from nearby tribes will come together and prepare to attack said village, players could sell this infomation to the local lord (player who owns the town), or set up traps and try protect the civilians, or even wait till the goblin ambush is over and loot the corpses and ransacked village..
What is everyone else's thoughts on this?
so long, as a demon, i can join the goblins in the raid!
@Volrath said in Karma and Friends:
What do you mean with „difficult proccess“??
not easy. very difficult. you wont become an angel. it wont be easy to switch your karma.
for the angel there will be a long quest chain to become an Angel.
@Gothix said in Dual Wield / Fist Weapons:
sword = 10% chance to pierce armor
mace = 10% chance to stundual swords = 20% chance to pierce armor
dual maces = 20% chance to stun
sword and mace = 10% chance to stun and 10% chance to pierce
honestly it should only be against certain armor. sword isn't going to do much against chain or plate, whereas cloth and leather it could.
you really can't double the bonuses like that either. usually the offhand has penalties for damage and bonuses. I'd say 15%. but really the 10% is pretty big for 1 weapon.
@Kralith said in Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience":
@Jetah i get that, don‘t worry about. I don‘t need really a proof.
We just can tell them, that we are here because of their statement about not to like p2w and gambles.
If they follow that line, we will see in 2 years.
it would be neat to have a confirmation from @Prometheus or @Znirf but I'm not sure they have time. Actually another spotlight is due! the last spotlight was july 2018...
@Kralith said in Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience":
problem about development is that things previously stated can be redacted.
i was looking through some of the videos but I can hardly hear them and they're all 1h long and I wont watch 5+ hours just to find it.
i'm trying to understand their desire for an optional subscription. there are games without it that are doing very well.
Dynamight stated clearly, they don't like P2W and gambles.
but p2w will still happen because trade exist. it wont be from DS to the players but via 3rd party.
I did find this where Znirf says "No, you won't be able to pay for speeding up processes in Fractured." so that's good to hear.
this is when cosmetics could just change the weapon without really changing the game.
i'd imagine no real limitation unless the weapons have stat minimums.
karma isn't static. it's fluid. your actions determine where your karma is at.
you could become an angel as a demon!
I'd hate to see someone drop $5k (or more) into the game to speed up crafting or gathering or other time duration because a siege is going on. it should be fought based on what resources were gathered and produced during peace.
eve online already has this. i posted in another thread that someone spent $70k and they weren't even winning the war.

I can hazad a guess you do not deal with customers/clients/consulting?
This was pretty tame all things considered lol
"you're in my pond, you play by my rules" is how i see it. i'm here playing by DS's rules. i have limits and will back off when told to.
@Pluto said in Where is the news of the next test phase...:
I think he was being facetious
there was no reason at all to say it.
