      Question about damage of pets / tamed monsters: they sure will be affected by passives ( for example Udoadra pack bonuses) and team buff abilities (like Inspire skill). But do bonuses increasing damage of the caster like Death mark do also apply (as it more looks like a debuff on enemy that multiplies damage, because you "put a mark on a creature")?

      no bonuse 'of the caster', aka self buff, should apply to other people. unless there's a debuff you place on the enemy but that isn't a buff.

      @Jetah I honestly see something like that being a cosmetic thing for the shop rather than a bonus for ftp players. character skins are rarely a ftp thing.

      true but there should be a handfull of cosmetic rewards for playing the game. i'd pick one for each play type: explorer, craft, fight.. (can't remember the last).

    • RE: Healing (spells / potions) with casting time?

      i expect most characters to have some type of self heal ability. either direct cast, self cast, leech, etc. unless you're always in a group you'll need some survival outside of (whatever camp or so).

      reading this and a previous comment I made.

      imagine alternative art for player characters! some could be in the style of the Angel, Lich and Abomination, where the versions have to be found (gives the f2p folks a way to find something through activity).

      Only Perception will give you bonuses to critical damage and critical chance.

      Are you sure, as with Dexterity at a minimum of 11, you also had 1% crit chance in Alpha 1

      Yes Yitra, we decided to make a change for a matter of balance, now only Perception gives you bonuses to critical damage and chance. šŸ™‚

      can we get a breakdown on the stats and what they modify before the next test? (and update any FAQ and NEWS if needed)

      @Jetah And Fortnite made a billion.

      they also had a pack that was hidden after you bought the highest tier. that's pretty shady. they also have lootboxes (or did) so they made it off the gambling instead of direct cosmetic sales.

      @Farlander
      between spell alternative animation, stance animation, weapon attack animation, alternative weapons (cosmetic), head to feet cosmetic, non-combat pet cosmetic, combat pet decoration, cart, house, house interior cosmetics, mount alternatives, mount decorations. this game can sell so much style!

      it's capped at 25 right now. who's to say in 5 years the cap wont be 50. i'm saying putting something that can be perfectly built with 1 stat is bad. once the min-max figures out if it's the best stat then you'll only see builds that focus on it. splitting them forces the user to make a decision if they want more hit or more damage or spend the points for both.

      i've played games where crit builds were the fotm/meta because the amount of crit damage you could stack was absurd. it was an rng built but when you did crit it was over for the enemy.

      i'm just saying i've seen it before so i understand how it can end up bad in a pvp game.

      path of exile had $100m revenue in 2017 so cosmetics as primary income can be done.

      That is literally the definition of convenience though. You purchase a frame to get it at your convenience while others farm

      if you spend the cash to buy the silver (cash shop currency) to buy the items from players, then yes. otherwise you farm items to trade for silver to trade for the items you want. the cash paid doesn't have to exist every time.

      @Jetah

      Both are still convenience items though. Buy a frame, or grind for it.

      Nowhere have I said either are pay to win. They just are not solely cosmetic operations

      the Prime frames are more cosmetic though. they look much better! there is a little perk of better stats and more mod capacity but they're available to everyone. The game is setup so that the frame parts are limited drop items (randomly in a lootbox type item) so when the void relics are removed they're gone (usually happens when the prime vault changes).

      right now anyone could get into the game and start to farm relics of current prime frames then keep some spares to sell when it's closed. they can farm ravins (think that's the name) and trade them for plat to buy blueprints of past prime frames.

      Path of exile sells convenience items. You can buy extra tabs

      Warframe you can buy warframes

      do you think tabs are their primary income or secondary?

      frames aren't more powerful though. they do offer a little boost, but usually less than 25% (same thing Fractured is offering) but the loadout can be better. again, anyone can buy them because you can farm mods or void relics.

      @Logain said in Is there a specific date for Alpha 2 testing to start?:

      I'm glad that DS won't mention concrete dates till they are very confident to make them. Game development tends to come with surprise and delays that annoys people when a company misses a 'fixed' date.

      yeah, praise for the date announcement then lots of pitchforks when it's a 'day late'.

      Just have some question regarding crits.

      So far Dexterity gives some minor bonus to crit chance and perception gives up to 4% (on per 18).

      Only Perception will give you bonuses to critical damage and critical chance.

      Will we get crit chance based on equipment (so far I“ve only seen crit damage on jewellery and helmet), through passive talents or buffs (spells / potions)?

      Yes, you will have crit chance based on equipment (some weapons will have more chance to crit), through your talent tree, with spells that will enhance your critical damage, enchanting and probably also with potions.

      Or will skills offer +X% to crit chance to crit / will every skill have its own chance to crit?

      For damage balancing logic, it will depend on the spell, probably quite all the"skill shot" spells will have a chance to crit (like the fireball).

      Also will there be way to reduce opponent“s chance to crit me ? It was stated, that dexterity should help, but in tables i“ve only seen bonus to evade. Will luck be involved in both crit chance and crit resist ?

      Evasion will increase the chances to dodge an attack (so also a crit one), luck works the same way. Apart from these statistic things, there will be some spells that will allow you to decrease/cancel the opponent's crit chance.

      you dont see a problem with putting critical damage and chance behind one attribute? because it will be a problem later on when gear stats start to climb. Perception could be increase crit chance but crit damage should be another stat. this also deters single stat stacking which was tried in other games and didnt work out. even Luck, if a stat, could be used for Crit Damage.

      My favored alternative is the one planned here. I prefer no sub with micro transactions for cosmetics. Cosmetics are such a huge thing for most players. I would expect this generates decent income for the devs. They are easy to introduce because they cause no balance issues with the game itself.

      yeah i've been saying this quite a bunch. it leave any power or convenience out of it and just lets the people dress how they want. I can see character slots and what not still there.

      @Pluto
      Path of Exile. their whole crowdfunding was only cosmetic. I've even been arguing Warframe only because any player can not pay and still have access to the whole store (steam fan made cosmetics aside) just by trading items found in game.

      @Tuoni said in Lootable Corpse?:

      @Jetah Yeah I can see your pov, and as much as I would like to see all of this too from real life perspective, It is starting to push the whole flagging system to weird direction. It is totally fine to have a rules in games without need to rationale everything with RL argument.

      it wont be RL association at all. the gods are the ones to let the others know even if the player is killed.

      i'd like a system where i can kill someone and take their stuff and not get any negative karma for it but i know it wont happen and as a demon it wouldn't be a bad thing either.

      Yes, karma and alignment are related for the gods, but thievery and murdering are more like judgements and rules set by humans. There is no reason to go further with the real life argument and think every detail of the flagging system from that aspect. Otherwise we could use RL in everything and end up to have a pretty shit system and game with permanent deaths and life time sentences for example.

      but we're talking about theft, not a hardcore-no-respawn-system. i just like the idea of theft happening but without witnesses there's no proof who did it. that could open up a profession to find thieves.
