Fog could make gear with +light highly sought after because it would extend the los.
but i also see it not having it. it was a weird thing i thought of while reading another post.

I posted a twitch link to how the camera could work, as it works in another game. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/230118435
that sounds like the map not the view area around the character. i was thinking more in terms to RTS that have fog of war. you can see clearly within your los but outside you can't.
yeah. even if there wasn't a cure, per say, but more of a reverse mechanic.
Over time a cure could be found by exploring the game, crafting, digging around, etc. maybe some rare resource could be found by someone rotating their camera and they bring it to an alchemist where they 'study it' over a few game days or months and then experiment on a few infected. This could be a mini-game, even though I don't like them, where the alchemist has to try different inputs to and see if they work. Maybe the resource is rare enough that some type of research has to be done first.
but that's a bit to code but it could be used for future events!
I'm curious if Fractured would have a fog of war system in place.
thought about it a little further. In RTS there are towers that extend los and dissipate the fog. These could be player built structures. a basic form could be a crows nest (similar to ships) but placed on a tree. an advanced version could be a lookout tower or even a light house.
this would give the local population an advance notice if hostiles are near and could help prevent an instant attack.
the fog could also be used to hide.
professional gear could have +light (or other los attribute) that increases the LOS to see further.
@vengu wow, kind of surprised it lasted that long.
so long as there is a 'cure', either temporary or permanent then it shouldn't be a problem but there are some people that do want to say pure.
sk is free. and i'm not sure where devilian is at. it was good at the beginning but something didn't work well with me so i dropped it.
Wolcen is in early access and isn't bad but has limited content, a few hours of story and grinding if you want to reach level 20.
could be a small hp damage over time so they cant stay permanently.
depends if the objects are fully rendered. diablo 3 only renders 3 sides.
it's better to not mention the persons name and keeping a suggest/request civil than to use a name and have a big argument over who's right or wrong.
It's in poor taste to snitch. the OP just wanted the ability to mute a user, nothing more, nothing less.
Anyway you should stay out of this, no point to lose time. Friendly suggestion.
that statement isn't keeping the chat civil, by the way. it could be interpreted as a threat. We don't want threads being locked or deleted. Discussion on these forums have been great so far, let's keep it that way.
it isn't about being a beastkin, it's about overcoming the handicap being a demon on Arboreus.
RNG is fine so long as it isn't a 1:10,000 chance. Criticals are RNG. most loot is RNG.
I don't understand why stats have to do something other than what's described in the spotlight.
Attributed have a cap, also.

Don't make me laugh and don't think to be onest/civil talking that way! Neither looking smart.. Considering the times you were arguing my english for no reasons there is a big chance that you were talking to me. For sure I was not harassing you
uh, not naming the person is being civil. the OP didn't call anyone out which is the best way to handle it.

One thing I don't understand is, why do so many PvPers here have such a big obession with Arboreus? What does Arboreus have that Syndesia and Tartaros does not? The devs have said multiple times that no planet has resources that are strictly better than the other planets, so it can't be about resources. Why would you want to fight a bunch of peaceful PvE players over more PvP oriented players on Syndesia and Tartaros. Prometheus has also said that you generally can't destroy player-owned structures except during city sieges, so you're not going to be able to destroy many buildings either. Heck, many PvPers in here sound more excited over attacking Arboreus, than the eclipse mechanic on Syndesia.
it's a challenge to get other there. it's a challenge to have lower stats to fight them, demons are given a handicap. and there's the 'why not' part.
@tulukaruk said in Google Auto Translator:
There are 2 basic ways of implementing auto-translation.
You can just send the chat as it is and then the client translates the chat if you choose some options.
The other option is that you type the message and auto-translate it before sending - then everyone sees the same translated message. This option is easier to implement I think and doesn't cause problem with known languagesAnother thing is - do all races speak the same language? Can a demon understand beastman without any problems? Or do they need to learn the language?
there's no need to translate it on the users end though. If I can't read a language then seeing it wont help.
the other option is having some pre-translated words and phrases where the user can select and it's auto translated in other clients' chat. I see the english they see their respective language. This what Sony did for FFXIV. as shown in the wiki link I provided.

So it kinda sounds like the 3 planets are like the 3 security levels of space in EVE.
Where Arboreus is high sec, Syndesia will be the low sec and Tartaros will be null sec.
Basically in null sec you can attack and kill anyone without repercussions. In low sec you can also kill anyone, but by doing so you will lose alignment, having your alignment too low pretty much gets you killed by NPC called Concord (space police) when you jump into high sec. High sec is high secure zone and if someone gets attacked the Concord will also jump to that location.
That said, quick strike forces can attack people, loot and jump to safety before Concord gets to that place.Weirdest thing about this all is that null sec is in a lot of cases safer than the other 2 area's as the areas there are controlled by big alliances and if someone flies around that doesn't belong there the intel chat channel will be notified and that person will most likely get destroyed quickly.
yeah it's just 1 system for each where the whole game playerbase will be in 1 of 3 systems.

@jetah And it will. Due to the popularity of this topic, the next spotlight is going to be about this topic instead of town building.

it'll be good to know how invasions will work. what the limitation will be, if any, and what areas (even if it's a percent) will be protected on Arboreus.
I think the current problem is everyone is interpreting the highlights differently.
sounds like the spotlight can't come fast enough.
@finland said in The PvE vs PvP Thread:
@phaethonas You are prolly following another game ;). You will invade and you will suffer the planet ruleset you can't bypass that
the eclipse event will remove any penalties on the human planet. I'd assume it also works so the humans can invade the demon planet without problems also.
@Phaethonas yeah, but i'm still thinking it'll be 50% of the planet so if it's less I'll feel better
