i'm not here for the pve though, i can get that in thousands of other games.

There are more sandbox full loot games around than pve games (cooperative/single-player games not conisdered, we want MMO). But remeber that the game (Fractured) is not only PvP so It's cool to suggest things also for the PvE side. The idea could be good or bad but we are here to argue.

i have no problem watching you lose against an immunity mob then kill you also.

@chrightt, @Jetah I'm assuming that if they put creatures with physical immunity they will also include reasonable way to get a weapon/skill to fight them. And that's why it might be better to have immunity then resistance - they have to include a way for you to fight them.

And random immunity is a plague and nonsense πŸ™‚ Only reasonable and explainable immunity should be included IF ANY. If it's included it should be very rare.

It might be a fun quest for example to get your Warfare to max level you'd have to beat some physically immune creatures that are of course immune to your lesser Warfare and you have to figure out a way to fight them πŸ˜›

wouldn't it be better to have high resistance, lets say 80-90%, than full immunity?

In diablo the immunity is random and isn't connected to mob type. If you were going to go to a graveyard knowing that there are ghosts immune to physical attacks you can prepare or not go there at all πŸ˜‰ If they are rare but reasonable and obvious then it should be ok. I hope nobody is expecting to kill fire elemental with fireball.

if a character doesn't have spells (and scrolls don't exist) then physical immunity will suck. i'm not here for the pve though, i can get that in thousands of other games.

then you have the people that pick fire and have to fight a fire immune boss. the qq will be loud on the forums.

Since you can select and change your skills any time you rest, I'm sorry, I'd feel very little pity for that kind of fools.

You assume people will have all abilities. When I venture out I don’t want to see 100% immune mobs. I played against that in D3 and it sucked.

    • RE: protecting your settlement

I played a game where roaming npc monsters would destroy the housing areas. it was great because it could cause players to band together to defend housing areas and it helped the crafters repair houses.

the housing areas varied between 10 and a few hundred plots. there was lamp post, trellis and other cosmetic items that could be repaired. Roads could be repaired so the +10-15% speed bonus could be applied.

    • RE: Guilds and guild masters

      GM's can have it rough.

You have to recruit. Do you spam invite and see who stays or do you invite those you grouped with or do you have an application to get to know the person.
You have to deal with drama. at some point drama will happen so you should know how to deal with it. Some guilds have a no drama rule and can kick people because of it.
You have to deal with clicks. certain people will group with certain others. this could be good or be bad.
You might have to deal with guild mergers. I haven't seen too many of these working out well.
You have to deal with people not logging on. Real life happens but usually the first month everyone is excited but it's the second month that you really see who's interested in the game.
Keeping the guild alive. It's best to have some guild event ideas handy when people start to get bored.

@jetah It's your point of view. Neutral and good alignment can coexists. Sanctuaries could be limited for "nice" people by npc guards (like bodyguards) kicking evil ass out. Take is as a lore solution. But I really don't mind. I have no problems to share pvp-off spots with evil people like in wow.

so long as the evil can invade! cause that totally what they'd do. so many targets in one place.. mmmm

i'll say that i hate the idea of a sanctuary. to me that isn't in the spirit of the game.

Not correct! Is not the spirit of a game you wish. This game as said will target both pvper and pvers so I think it's legitimate to give something for both sides. I think pvpers are just scared to have not enugh players to fight if we get enough safe spots. But I'll tell you a secret: the problem are not the games but the play style. Mostly players prefer to play safe and forcing pvp is not way to have more players to fight. It's just a way to get a niche game that could die.

a game like this shouldn't have a sanctuary in it. a place where evil and good coexist can't exist.

Scrolls could have different tiers which bypass the int requirement.

Tier 1 could be a low level spell
Tier 2 could be a medium
      Tier 3 could be high.

This could correlate to the spell tiers also. If I have a spell at level 3 I’d want the option to craft a tier 1 scroll.

so you'd spend 600$ for nothing in return? Because I want something within the video game to give them some money. I'm not a charity and don't give companies money because I believe their vision of a game is good.

people will pay 1000USD for internal testing. Crowfall had Alpha 1 testing at 500$ and pre-alpha for 5000$. Camelot Unchained had alpha at the 110$ and internal testing at 180$.

So yes people can pay a bit to test the game. Oh, and 500$ isn't enough for round trip to Italy (where the development studio is located).

It seems Path of Exile went another route and just accepted donations direct to their website.

gratz on some funding \o/. Will Kickstarter still happen or has that been removed as an option?

@prometheus said in Major Milestones Approaching! (Or: Why We've Been So Silent):

We’ve seen you defining Arboreus as a β€œPvE planet”, Syndesia as a world with β€œLawful PvP”, while Tartaros features β€œLawless PvP”. This definition, although correct at large, is far from complete, and let to a plethora of questions such as:

If i'm not mistaken, it was you or another DS personnel that said that and we went with it.

The demon society arisen over the years on Tartaros is a brutal and lawless one, in which criminal actions and murders are committed aplenty on a daily basis.
Banditry is a plague against which the forces of law and order have to fight every day, and it’s a well-known fact there are entire guilds fully dedicated to unlawful activities on Syndesia – one just needs to know where to find them.

I'd venture a guess that scrolls have the power inscribed into them. otherwise a scroll that requires intelligence wouldn't work for a dex or str based person. It wouldn't allow a common person to use it.

I was watching Overlord II anime on Crunchyroll and it has a few scrolls being used by those without the skill. It allowed one of the characters to instantly contact their boss. Also there's one character that purchased a scroll from the mages guild. which sets up an economy for them.
