that's why i asked the question, which I think was answered during the Q&A last week.
I didn't want to spend 6 months earning these Foundation rewards to just have them in a low 25-100$ tier. I want someone to see the mount or pet and it drive them to engage on the forums to get it themselves.

the company needs revenue. your guild can select from the basic tier of icons and colors or you/them can pay for a tier 2 or custom icon and colors.
the store will have account items too, including race change, sex change, maybe even character slots and inventory slots.

They are making the game solo friendly, so it will not be as difficult as you would hope.
However, I do hope that at least a part of content will be difficult and require well organized groups, and player skills, so that only like 20% of player base (on average) is able to do it.
Not everyone should be able to do everything, otherwise whats the point if there is no competitivness. Competitive crowd will just leave and play something else.
Solo for most PvE but not PvP.
Why would developers create content, spending resources so 20% of the population can see said content?
Why did vanilla WoW have Naxxramas? (that only like 5% of population could do, and only 1% of population could clear it)
Because competitive players want to have something to work for, something to strive for, something that takes time and effort and isn't just easily doable. They want something that when they finally succeed to "have bragging rights on", to have accomplishment not reachable for everyone.
Competitive crowd is seeking MMOs like that, and if some MMO is made so everyone can simply do everything, then whats the point?
Of course, developers can chose to make MMO like that, but such choice will send a bulk of competitive players that like the challenge away to play something else.
PvP will of course be challenging - if care bears don't get their way and it ends up punished
however there should also be a part of PvE not doable by everyone and his mother.
At least I'm hoping for such MMO. I don't want Farmville 2.0 with upgraded graphics.
and they stopped doing that when they noticed that only .5% completed Sunwell. They opened Wrath up for more of the population to see the end game and their numbers skyrocketed (which might not have a correlation but who knows).
now they offer different tiers so everyone can see the lore (even though mythic tier has a 'different' version).

RE: An MMO Free of Levels and Classes?
I'd like to see 1 physical weapon created but ingredients change the looks or a cosmetic skin could be added pre or post production that changes the visual.
This allows the developers to balance 1 set of numbers per weapon.
IE: you use copper and you get a copper weapon. use iron get an iron weapon. the stat difference is nothing just a visual difference. If gold is used then there's gold trim. This would allow various items to be used (iron+copper+gold) to give a completely 'unique' visual.

so you're saying 1 minute isn't enough time to rez, heal, loot and vacate the area? because it is.

if you know there's a time limit after the boss dies, you don't waste time. your loot master loots, then when you exit and get to a safe area, you distribute loot.
you shouldn't be going to a dungeon with full bags as you could have been killed while going there. everything you carry is something for the enemy.

the boss would be dead for a whole minute. that's plenty of time to exit the dungeon.
the reason for the entrance/exit opening is to prevent one group from farming. it allows groups outside the entrance to fight for the next attempt. I thought I made it easy to understand, guess I'll go and edit it.

there's a reason I said relative to the system security and not an exact copy of.
if your eve character is -10 standing you aren't safe in "safe space".

- What's the difference between a VA and a regular voice? There are many VA's that use their normal voice for characters.
- I'm sure if DS wanted volunteer VA they could get some from the community. I wouldn't mind trying it even if I have to buy a better mic for it.

Killing them just for staying behind sounds a bit too drastic, I still like my idea of giving them huge debuffs to make sure they can't defeat the boss again more.
That last one wouldn't really work in an actual MMO. Imagine you start playing after a year, only to find out all the dungeons are empty.
how? a boss is spawning, it's their spazzy entrance which kills everyone in the room.

I'll guess you're one of the people that believe humans can't see beyond 60 fps.
Mice, mouse pads, frame rate, refresh rate, input lag all make a huge difference in the competitive scene. Sure your average (or below) player wont notice it but it's there.
you don't have to continuously hold buttons down in click to move, so your hand won't get tired and you won't suffer any pauses while moving
i don't have that problem with my Orbweaver.
You can play Spiral Knights, if it's still running, to see how an isometric game with WASD movement works
. I didn't have problems with aiming where I wanted and moving with ranged or melee.like I said it's been answered
