I suspect they're crunchy but I may enjoy them fried so they'd be crunchy anyways.

Speculation with Eve Online is that some developers used spy accounts to make sure very large alliances were taken down from within. EO has a different system in that there is only 1 universe (thus far) so they can't have an all powerful alliance existing for very long.

@greenfox It's funny how you think beastman can't be killed on their own planet by humans, demons, and even other beastman. Since, you thinking the beastman's planet is a safezone when it isn't, and those silly carebears can still be killed in PvP. Since, there may be resources on that planet that the other two don't have, so humans and demons might go there and get the resources or raid your towns and or etc. So, yeah carebears can still get PvP'd and die.
Also, carebears aren't just PvE players but also PvP players who only target noobs to think of themselves good and get some easy gear since they avoiding the real competition.
good aligned players can't attack other good aligned players on Arboreus, they are protected from FF thus they can only attack other good aligned on Syndesia or Tartaros.
and it's been confirmed that at least 75% of Arboreus is a safe zone. At best there will be 5-10 invasion spots (speculation on my part) but invaders can only travel 30 minutes in any direction before being forcibly removed from the planet.
until they do a reversal on their credit card which hurts them. you want quality enough that they don't ask for a refund of any type.

@Greenfox don't worry we will have care bear hunting quotas, and will let them repopulate every once in a while, so that we don't run out of them.
i like this!
@terram
i meant Path of Exile, not pillars of eternity.. sorry for the confusion.

@jetah LMAO!!! I dont think thats your call to make... People who blindly support without offering constructive criticism probably arent the kind of people they need...
if they supported the project then they're happy with the current offerings.
@terram said in Character appearance:
@Jetah Not talking about eye color, as I've said what would be cool for example would be to change your horns as a demon, that'd be pretty visible. The point is to make you own your character, feel connected to it in some way.
Then clearly you haven't played the game. For human males for example you have 14 facial hair presets, 5 face presets and 19 hair styles.
I have played PoE recently and I didn't see the options. even a quick search didn't show anything.
@terram said in Character appearance:
@Jetah As I've said it's not a waste, it plays a part in roleplay and the feeling that you're a unique element of the world, not just another bloke. I do agree that it uses up ressources, which is why I also advised that the customization should be fairly superficial, like in PoE, which does have customization beyond armor cosmetics; you have different face presets, hair styles and colors to match.
MOBAs don't have character cutomization besides preset skins because roleplay is not a key component of MOBAs. It is in MMORPGs though.
but you aren't unique in a video game. your armor and cosmetics will set you apart more than eye color will.
I've never seen face, hair and color presets in non-china PoE.
the people that see a failed KS and look no further aren't the types of people DS want.

I don't see, if this fails, as a bad thing at all.
In the gaming community, once something has "failed" it gets a stigma attached to it. Rightly or wrongly. Perception is reality for people and if they perceive something bombed once, ie: couldn't even hit a TINY Kickstarter target when other niche games have pulled in a million, or multiple millions on Kickstarter, it sticks in people's minds.
and those other niche games had huge names behind them.
@terram
customization is a waste for a game like this. I could give in to fur, skin and horns for customization but that's it. the rest is a waste of resources that could be put into cosmetic gear or development. There's a good reason that MOBAs don't have character customization and instead it's put on the armor/skin of the model. PoE is a great example. they models are set and there are no customization except for armor cosmetics.
@althalus
Failing isn't bad! This isn't grade school. DS can learn from this and come back stronger the next time or skip KS and do everything from their own page or both. I have given feedback. I've posted pre-KS about KS. I don't see, if this fails, as a bad thing at all. I've never used a fail KS campaign as a reason to not be interested in something.
oh that sounds interesting!
well the game is presented in isometric view so you'll rarely see any face customizations. you'll be wearing armor/gear so I doubt you'll see your skin/fur that often. I can't see them doing much because you won't see that much of your character.
now, you could admire your character on the character select screen...
@zidroc
so i have to out of the game to watch a video? or do i interact with something in game which unlocks something in the UI so I can read/watch the lore?
personally, i ignore most of the lore. you point to things you want dead or that i need to click or follow.
@althalus said in Bit worried where the Kickstarter is:
@benseine just because some games had income without KS and this game will MIGHT do better in other avenues other than KS doesn't mean they should do nothing and let KS fail... if thats the attitude the devs have then why did they bother with the KS at all? IF the goal for starting a KS was not money but to get free promotion and hype out of it, newsflash a failed KS doesnt bring in good promotion or hype it brings in bad publicity...
I disagree. I'd prefer to see an attempt and fail than to see a success then fail.
KS still bring publicity which you can't really get elsewhere.

They can make the necessary changes when they want to run another campaign or bypass KS and just roll it from their store.
I do believe that running campaign on their own store can be more successful.
They will have more freedom (and room) as to how they wish to present everything (not constrained by KS format layout, or time constraint), they will be able to offer more package variations or custom purchases, and having PayPal as an option will be a big plus for the players that do not wish to share their credit cards with websites directly (or who do not use credit cards that Ks supports / use credit cards at all).
yes, but KS has visibility that their own site doesn't have. it at least let them advertise the game and people may drop in from it.
@axan22 said in Bit worried where the Kickstarter is:
yeah i'm not sire if this one gonna make it, i personally think its a great game but dont think its a great KS campaign, too much reliability on other sites etc. I mean one of the perks in the tiers in the VIP but just had a look on the KS main page and its not visible as to what that actually is, i mean i know but for new backers its just not a very good lay out multiple links to here there and everywhere and pictograph of what is in which tier would be so much easier, plus the lack of stretch goals even the first one gives no one anything to aim for etc. I hate to day this but i don't think this will fund this time, but i hope the devs rethink and come back with a much stronger and much more thought out campaign. even the vids are pretty samey you need to show the best of the game and variety.
pictograph isn't necessary though.
this is a great lesson for DS. They can make the necessary changes when they want to run another campaign or bypass KS and just roll it from their store.
