It's because so many games end up being pay to win and it ruins good games for anyone who can't afford to spend hundreds on bonuses.
name 5 that aren't asian games.

@jianzen
so you're ok with no pvp, no invasions, nothing just harvesting and building? if enough guilds band together they could stop all pvp (unless you're anti-pvp). the game would lose part of it's core.
search bar, we have had at least 10 topics created asking the same thing, saying they all hate it.
@jianzen said in Strength of Player Factions?:
I guess it comes down to whether the devs would prefer to see a more organic environment, where the world simply grows as the player sees fit, or whether they’d be willing to create a more equal playing ground for smaller or newer groups.
in eve online the developers use non-admin accounts. they add in drama or whatnot to get the big alliances to break up. they may spy for other alliances so things can not go the way the big alliance wants. then again it's speculation unless the developers have admitted it.
[e] Can the question be overlayed on the video to the left/right, so it's easier to mark the video.
@jianzen said in Early Player Protection:
If a player has just joined the game, I’m thinking possibly post-full release or late in Beta stages, and they might not know the way of the game mechanics etc, say they chose human. Would there be anything stopping other Humans / Demons from immediately attacking them and possibly scaring them from the game?
there are starting areas where pvp isn't possible.

i've learned through Eve that people will join the bigger alliance instead of trying to fight them. They do what's easy and as closely guarentee's a win.
Then be it. They deserve what they get. Why would devs interfere?
why play a game with 1 major alliance? if tartaros is owned and there are anti-pvp rules then some people will not play.
@grofire said in Strength of Player Factions?:
@jetah no hard cap.... we in a sandbox...
i do not mind the upkeep will personal to every player in guild/alliance
sandboxes still have limitations. otherwise they would be limited to a box but a desert or a sand planet. even then there's a limit.
@grofire said in Strength of Player Factions?:
@jetah that why we said that upkeep for guild and alliances are important.
that doesn't really stop it. the alliance will just require members to farm. there would need to be a hard cap on members in a guild and guilds in an alliance. Sure multiple alliances could work together but it would be harder to communicate in game (if there are no custom chat channels).

After the game has been going for a while, if and when clear, large factions emerge, perhaps from massive guilds, who control large portions of the three planets, what would be the response from the devs?
Hopefully no response. Because then this game wouldn't be a sandbox as devs promote it.
It is up to you, as a player, to work on opposing these factions, by helping an opposing groups. If you can't, well tough luck. The better will win.
I can only say that if I would see devs interfere in this, I would quit playing instantly. No doubt about that.

I think it's amazing how people actually won't pledge to a Kickstarter if they don't think it'll get the funding.
Not only is that why it won't get the funding, but you get all of your money back if it doesn't meet it, so you have absolutely nothing to lose, lol
you never really spend the money until it's successful.
@konstanz said in Haven't pledged? Want to upgrade, but not sure yet? Tell us why!:
@jetah if 1 server only then it's probably going to be east/central US, otherwise europeans would experience very high latency. guess it's a no go for me.
I've never seen a central server. it's either west or east.
honestly we dont know what the latency will be like for this type of game.
@sharo said in KS 72% someone bought the highest peaks:
@highlander you know what would be sceptical, believing that the devs purchased the packs themselves to close the gap and get more people to donate. Would be pretty smart actually haha
in most places they pay taxes on the earned KS income.
@konstanz
US but i don't remember which side. they're trying for a 1 server similar to Eve Online.
they'll invite the number they need for testing. it could be 100 it could 100k. it might be 10 batches of 10.
Someone can squat it too. They might not have any intention on paying.
@baconbr
I'm assuming Governors can hire guards for their towns, yes.
@zidroc said in Lore or snore...:
@Jetah
reading up on a bunch of lore can get pretty boring. But sort of, SWTOR videos were about background lore that led up to the conflicts that you play in the game. They were all pretty cool, and gave some neat glimpses into the Star Wars universe. With Fractured, I'd like to see videos about the deities and the conflicts that arose between the families on each planet. I don't want them to ultimately just tell us how the planets split up, I'd like for that to be the story you try to piece together as you run along in game.
I see a game's story more from the perspective of common knowledge. Common knowledge would be how it split, maybe it's taught at home or some type of education, or maybe it's passed through genes or songs.
My problem with videos is they can be boring and expensive. I could see Fractured doing the still animation similar to RWBY lore videos.
@gibbx
it's ok to agree when it's correct.
I've heard from a German/Austrian speaker that the Google Translate for Douche is pretty spot on.
I'm all for flags for each News item that uses a community translator. As much as I'd hate to suggest but even some Foundation Points or Dynamight Gold for the task.
