I disagree with Tartaros competing with Crowfall. Crowfall is setup so that the worlds die. Fractured's worlds don't die, they're persistent.

when it's up, they'll tweet it, post it on kickstarter as an update, send an email, and post it on these forums.

It very much does change the enjoyment of the game for a lot of people. Being a female, I really don't relate to male characters that well.

If I'm playing the story of someone else, a game about a specific person, I could care less. That is their story that I'm experiencing. I love stories, and if it happens to be about a specific male or female or other, I'm completely happy experiencing the story through their eyes.

If I'm playing an online game with a character that is representing "me" - a character that I either get into the role as playing or simply just the character I am building the story and life for - I relate far more and get much more enjoyment out of playing a female character.

Feminine or masculine characteristics are something you can see. They absolutely do have a gender one way or the other (and yes, there is gender neutral as well).

This also was a simple playful question someone was messing around with just asking people which they'll choose. There was no reason for hostility levels to increase or debates to ensue!

I said gender doesn't change performance in a game. what you wrote is all "feelings" unrelated to your characters performance.

i don't know if Fractured will offer a LFG option.

it's easy to have it setup so a group could go to that place. The LFG doesn't mean instant port to said area. it's just a tool that gathers people.

I personally think Discord. Because it is new every gamer will take a look at it. Especially every mmorpg player, since almost every mmorpg player comes in contact with Discord if they want to play with others. On Steam, Fractured will just be another title in the jungle of thousands of games that get published there.

you have a point, currently, that the Discord store will feature less games and would be more noticeable.

Yet another installer? I don't mind paying a few € more when I can get a game in my steam library.

you want valve to take 35% of each purchase from DS? because that's what valve gets every time you make a purchase on Steam.

and many people already have Discord installed because it's a superior communication app.

it'd be interesting for launch but i'm not sure discord or DS wants to be on that store pre-release.

at best, DS needs to know what Discord will take for their cut. If it's cheaper than Steams' 35% then it's worth looking into.

sounds like other attributes should be used for certain magic groups or do what Eve Online did and split all spells/abilities between 2 attributes. So that your magic that requires INT could also require CON or it could be CON as the primary and INT as a secondary. With 2h melee STR could be how hard you hit but DEX could be how many times you can hit. So a high STR low DEX could be 1 or 2 hard hits but then you're waiting on resources to regen. [not exclusive to these 2 stats but something I thought of.] Staves could be CHA as a primary or secondary.

90 day raod map would just be developing.

it would be sweet to see some art dev's streaming something, some animation dev, sound effects dev's, etc. I loved it when Crowfall did it.

rewards are the same, gear from the loser. I'd say an experienced player will know the land better but it's still possible that a new player has spells that the experienced player can't counter.

i don't see 1 guild dominating a whole planet (remember there's 3). cities can be sieged so there should be some constant fighting, however, the beastkin planet won't have that-iirc.

if certain mechanics are in, then yes. otherwise you can't. if alpha has just 6 abilities and you want to try necromancy and it isn't any of the 6 then you can't get a feel for it. the economy will not be there during alpha either.

just fyi, alpha won't be a game but more like testing specific mechanics.

It was confirmed in a Q&A that food gives buffs.
