Hello Rusty.
Nice to meet you
I'm pretty sure it will lift off the ground.
Probably not in 2019 like planned, but who knows, the owner did seem to get 6 new employees hired with start dates in the first week of Jan. That takes them up to 58 (although I'm still waiting for the other 22 staff pictures on the website)
There are 5 more hired for start dates soon after that.
If they get the connection issue fixed, then they can get their BR and their Castle Siege Modes rolling out the door.
If I had Alpha 1 I'd be streaming.
But alas, I do not.
@thwunk said in Mentor system:
Although I would welcome some form of mentoring system, I would like it to extend beyond the basics of game play into wider dynamics of group/faction operation: including how to effectively use supporting mechanisms as discord: a platform I have only recently joined on finding fractured, but have yet to master. (Although I have played mmo's for a couple of years, for the most part it has only been as a solo player, or member of a pug.)
I find the best way I learn is through visual media: so perhaps as the game develops there could be a library heading, with video tutorials explaining such processes and would definitely appreciate an idiots guide about actually running a guild in earnest.
I will try doing a search through the previous posts to see if there is any mention of setting up a tutorial test area as part of future development, I.e. an area where newbies can try out and learn the basics of game play at there own pace without consequences in the real game.
Oddly that is why I do the Archeage 101 video series. I'll be doing the same for Fractured when I start.
Still waiting to see how the the leader board ferrets out for the rest of the month

I just hope they won't neglect the communication part of Discord when/if the store is picking up.
They won't...
It will give them more funding to do more things
With that in mind, we’ve created new revenue share tiers for games that hit certain revenue levels. Starting from October 1, 2018 (i.e. revenues prior to that date are not included), when a game makes over $10 million on Steam, the revenue share for that application will adjust to 75%/25% on earnings beyond $10M. At $50 million, the revenue share will adjust to 80%/20% on earnings beyond $50M.
Yeah, but I mean look at those numbers $10 and $50 for your tiers?
At $10M you've given steam $3M
At $50M you've given steam $11M
If you took 12% from Epic
At $10M you've given Epic $1.2M
At $50M you've given Epic $6.0M
I'll be honest, Steam hasn't convinced me to buy a single game. Ever.
Humble Bundle yes, Steam no.
I don't roll around Steam looking for games to play
Discord Store - 10%
Epic Store - 12%
Steam - 30%
Not too hard to see the future here. Steam will have to lower its cut to 18-20% if they want to attract games
Easy Peasey just like murker said.
System works nearly 100% of the time.
Since we can see screen names, I've not had anyone register and then not show up as one of my referees.
Nice.
Yeah this game has been promoted in several circles for a while, but because of the methodology of it, its going to be a smaller draw.
Since Blizzard dropped the ball with Diablo Immortal, Fractured suddenly finds itself in a position to fill a need for some people.
Not in the top 100?
That's ok.
Work harder
I'm still stoked for this.
Totally stoked
This will be my side game, so I'm hoping it is entertaining enough when I need to take a break from my main MMO.
Keeping my nose pressed to the glass.
