    • RE: Ok, Bought the game after a 2 min video on youtube; was it the right choice?

@Girlxs To be brutally fair and honest with you: no, it was not the right decision.

Pledging so much to a game after watching just 2 minutes of gameplay and seeing that someone said that the game is promising? This is how you get early access baited for a game that is never coming out. It's the recent trend in scummy dev strats and a gamer nowadays should be very vigilant with what they buy in to.

But Fractured is not that. I, as well as hundreds others, believe in devs' vision of the game and trust that with our funding they can truly create if not outstanding than at lease an above average game.

You simply got lucky. In the future please do your research before making such decisions 😄

TL;DR: wrong choice, would've been right if OP did their homework and researched the game before buying it

    • RE: Is there planned any "CD reduction" in case of spell saved?

@asspirin Getting a reduced cooldown on a resisted spell would essentially increase the power level of all mages by default and on top of that it would essentially make opyimizing your defense before fighting a mage almost irrelevant: this would simply overtune mage powerlevels. It was never meant to be an easy plug-and-play class: it provides a higher skill ceiling and potential power level in exchange for a higher skill requirement in order to be effective. This change would decrease the minimum skill requirement in order to be effective and increase the winrate at top performance. I simply don't think that it's the area that should be adjusted.

    • RE: Looting? Pickpocketing? Or Lock picking & Burglary

@Peter No, it's not that terrifying really. The ability to loot makes the economy much more complex and interesting: this implies that moving the goods from one city to another has a risk factor involved which means that there wouldn't be a global price tag for most items, this allows for much more indepth political experience for the guilds and another way to make some quick cash for the individual player. If implemented correctly in such a game this mechanic can really spice things up and lighten up the social aspect of the mmo.

      @Nekrage Welcome and have fun!
If you're just starting exploring Fractured concept ideas, then I'd recommend you start with reading all the dev newsposts: you can finds them in the News section of the main website.
After you're done with that watching the last 2 QnAs is great fun, but after that you're basically done: they best source for new info is dev posts/replies on the forum or in their official discord.

    • RE: Other types of "consumables"?

@asspirin Well in my opinion this crutch that's being used in other games to allow the player to obtain new abilities from a public pool would be completely redundant in Fractured. This would simply not achieve any goal and be an exhausting way to add new abilities to your roster.

However you're dancing around a really interesting and related topic: what if these items are quite powerful and rest above the power level of a median ability? I completely understand that this might go against the whole "horizontal progression" idea (which I still don't think the game should be 100% horizontal) and would be imballanced in PvP (which can be limited by some sort of a balancing tool, just like OP pointed out). This is the conversation I think could be had.

    • RE: Looting? Pickpocketing? Or Lock picking & Burglary

@Farlander I don't know how to feel about Dynamight not being open enough about such a crucial design detail. I guess we just have to wait and see what comes out of it. I really hope they scratch this or that gear progression won't be as extremly flat as they make it seem. 😞

    • RE: Looting? Pickpocketing? Or Lock picking & Burglary

@Logain This is actually quite frightening ngl. Horizontal gear seems like an all around terrible design decision. If all gear is pretty equal in it's rarity and median effectiveness then there are no endgame goals and endgame PvM content would just rely on the quantity of the dropped items. I might be overlooking something but from what I can tell such game would not be very fun at all. 😕

    • Suggestion: Currency names

      Dear Dynamight,
I think it would be reasonable to suggest you reconsider how you call either one of in-game currencies, because currently they sound pretty similar and to a player newly introduced to the game "Gold" and "Dynamight Gold" may look exactly the same.
You can see how this would cause unwarranted drama and misunderstanding and harm both the community and the game in general by spreading factually incorrect info.

    • RE: What is the main reason why you want to play Fractured?

@Luckycharms I mean I wanted to go in deep on my #1 but if you want top, here you go: 😄

      1. Complex social gameplay: towns, guilds and so much more fun stuff
      2. I think endgame PvM should be fun given the MOBAesk mechanics
      3. PvP, this kinda ties in #1 because how many PvP opportunities arise from the different social elements and mechanics
      4. Just the room to min/max your characters with all the racial specifics and transformations, different stats, skill trees and the variety of abilities
      5. The community. So many great people all in one plays waiting for this one single game. I just love this community. Even though we are small (which is temporary, believe you me), it's the quality that matters. 😉

    • RE: What I "DO NOT" want to see in this game

@PeachMcD If isolating and only Considering Syndesia the comparison becomes pretty trivial as Syn is basically the Royal continent on Albion from what we can gather right now, so it's not that much of a stretch that Fractured might fall for the same things Albion did/did not.
I think just considering the other alike games and learning from their experience is just something one has to do in order to decrease the probability of failure. And Albion offers quite a volume of said experience 😄

    • RE: Looking for PVP guild

@islesofurth Hello, I believe that The Shadow Empire just might be the guild you're looking for!
We currently have over 200 members whis is almost 4 times as much as the top2 guild does.
We will be present on all 3 planets and a lot of us are planning to main human characters on Syndesia.
As we are so large it is virtually guaranteed the GvG, seiges and other PvP activities will be happening constantly, so you won't find yourself bored to death 😄
I can not guarantee that you will be taking a commanding/higher role, but if you really are effective at what you are trying to achieve, making us stronger, and most importantly enjoy it yourself: your efforts will not go unnoticed.
Apart from PvP we are also going to do a lot of PvM and skilling/gathering, luckily we have the numbers to afford doing so. 😉
If you have any further questions or just would like to discuss the matters more timely feel free to join our discord server by clicking the link in my signature and scrolling down a little 🙂

    • RE: relocate

@Denyde I think this might be an intentional game mechanic that raises the skill ceiling by rewarding percise movement and clicks. And even if it's not intentional right now I think it would be a great addition to the game that makes player's mechanical skill level more meaningful. 😉

    • Item economy stuff

So how exactly will top-tier gear get into the game? Will it be represented only by unique drops from high level PvE stuff or will it be craftable like all the other gear in the game? It's obvious that one wouldn't be able to craft a, say, "Supercool godsword of megadeath" right from day one, so will the restriction be applied to the materials needed? Will it require some rare skill or something? I think it would be really interesting if one could obtain a high level crafting skill either by grinding skyrim style or by doing some sort of quest or something.
TL;DR - speculation on how will top-tier items be introduced to the game economy
btw feel free to post your takes on the stuff in this thread, i'd be really interested in reading'em
