I will always stick to the most populated server.

30 ms and 180 ms ping is the same in playing. As long as no lagspikes happen.
And that is the difference between my home >frankfurt>USA.

Under 300 ms is no real lag, might be bad for pro-pvp. Where a twitch ends your life.
But that's not my kind of beer anyways.

Hmmm... well splitting userbase is hopefully done after you know that theres enough to keep the server alive. Or you might need to merge these again, which would be hard with how citys and stuff work.

How will you handle the city perks and stuff liek statues?

AND most importantly... pleaes don't outsource it to a localicatuon agency. These are all crappy as hell.
Rather give the "crowd" ... us the usersbase the chance to translate it from one language to another.

It's free. Maybe a bit free dynamight gold or a nice handshake, so not fully free.
It's accurate. Not at the start, but the longer it's up. The more people will check over it.
It's barely trolled .. there's always a few blacksheep, but rather having an skill be named "Mr.Frog.Meme" and "spawn best meme" for a few minutes or hours. Then the crappy translation of agencys who take good money for it ... forever.

I had good experience with CrowdIn and similar databases with a few other indie development games.

      1. How do we craft, is it just dropping 3 iron 3 wood and a coal for a torch? Or is it skillfull, interesting and rewarding to experiment? (aka, blueprint craft or freestyle choice craft?)

      2. Will there be raritys for the ressources and crafted items? Rangeing from Common~Most Epic Legendary?

      3. Will there be a decent amount of "durability" which will be repairable, but lose some everytime ... until it breaks forever. Economy in games that have everlasting equips ... suck.

Pleaes allow for more questions next time. Or some people need multi accounts xD.

@sparky Cause, if and when someone goes onto the carebear planet. Things that happen like with wasp and honeybees will happen to the "PvP Elite Invaders".

Carebears will swarm them and kill them just by vibrating and generating heat ... i mean by sheer amount of mass of attacks.

When you poke the sleeping giant, don't be surprised by the feet.

      • Anyone invadeing "non-peacefull" into the beastman planet, will be subject to debuffs. If you manage to 1v1 a carebear in that state and run from the mass of people that smell easy prey, as the global beastman chat lights up with your location and presumed stolen ressources. I will invite you to a cold beer ;3.

Getting ressources will be doable. As long as your neutral or good aligned.
Getting anything, deeper then the portaling areas ... might prove difficult if your evil aligned.

@Greenfox don't worry we will have care bear hunting quotas, and will let them repopulate every once in a while, so that we don't run out of them. 😉

We may even end up forcing the crafting knowledge on some lazy ass demon so we don't have to worry about the swords either.

:3 I'm laughing so hard now.
Welp, don't make all the carebeas hide inside the beastman planet.

And seriously, you should stop seeing people as Carebears and Pro PvPers.
Anyone ... excuse me ... most of the "Elites" are worse then the Carebears.

:3 When you need 3 to kill 1 lone merchant guy, who's harvesting wood. You ought to think about ya skill.
And that's what the "Elites" in Albion did ... till the carebears quit to much and the Devs changed it to be harder to get ganged upon by an medium sized gangbang group.

The whole thing spiraled out of control and Albion died a slow death. Atleast if one looks at it's user count.
      (or is dieing still)

The three planets solve alot of the issue.
When you like to kill anything on sight (or be killed by anything in sight), you will either be Demon or Human.
Where Demons probably will have an advantage on the solar eclipse over humans and beastman.
And if you want to decide, when you will pvp and when not. You will be a beastman.

Most players will probably be beastman.
While a good bunch will be humans.
And mostly for the solar eclipse, alot of Alt Character Demons will fly into the human world for some beneficial pvping.

It's always better when PvPers gang bang other PvPers. Then two skilled groups can duke it out.
And not an non-pvper being reached around inside a group like a wet towel.

@greenfox said in Fractured Sprint 13/15 Recap (Feb 05, 2018):

@jairone The only good CC debuff i have ever seen.

After receiving an Stun. You will have an 20% chance to shrug off the next stun.
And this stacks and sticks with you for 20 seconds.

      I know, i know!
It makes it hard for cc spam to affect a fight if it goes on to long.
But as both sides have the same debuff going on, picking targets and killing them while on the first cc or second rotation.
Makes this more tactical, then to perma cc someone with a chain spam.

And if something is doable, people will do it.
I can remember a guild, that would abuse "stun" spam via a musical skill.
Anyone entering the range, would be stunned ... forever. They won pvp matchs non stop, till the devs added the stacking debuff. Which made pvp generaly more fun and fair.

      • CC resitance got added as a stat, derived from vitality. Tanks would be harder to cc then squishy mages or archers.

Again, my problem with that is that it only addresses the specifics of PvP, with a boring minor effect, that essentially destroys any chance of having something like controller builds that are viable in PvP (which generally means they simply don't exist). Which is why I thought of having something else.

I'm not suggesting something where people can be long term stunlocked. I know that isn't fun. I want something with more to it than "Oh, I got stunned before so now somehow I'm less vulnerable to it." There's a ton of possibilities out there, and a lot that can impact other areas of gameplay instead of being essentially just a PvP thing. In fact, I think that with some work the idea of having other effects tied to CC would make a huge impact with PvE content.

Yes, people abuse things. Which is why I was also open to the idea of having breakouts (basically a form of diminishing that isn't quite so obvious, so there is some surprise with the randomness of it). Because we all know that with d.r. in place people have timers running on how long it will last, and plot around that. It is essentially still stunlock and kill. Just with shorter stunlocks and downtime.

      Why wouldn't they exist?
      I truly don't get it.

Controller builds existed still after the "nerfs" to the supreme OPness. What was perma stun loocking, anyone and everyone ...

It just wasn't all mighty anymore.
      A stun, a second one.
      A slow or a blind.
These wouldn't "Stack" on each other, just the same kind of cc would inflict the deminishing return buff.

Peopel switched from makeing it an "totaly cc zone" too "clever cc layers, which worked well. But where beatable, if someone really made an effort".

... the moment someone can cc chain you for more then 3~5 seconds in one spot, for an 100% chance.
      It's not fun for anyone.

It's like how guildwars was a fun pvp game. Till you saw how high end people fought ... all stacking the same dots on the same enemy. And nukeing that dude with an extrem amount of damage. Or any extrem hard cc ... or other extrem nuke.

Pro PvP in guildwars ... was boring as hell.

And about the "somehow less vunerable".
You could say, that the magical stun. Works the same way like the common flu.
You catch it and the next month, you're less likely to catch it again after getting trough it. But you might catch it nevertheless if your unlucky...
And if you stand in a train with people with snoot dripping and coughs and sneezes flying everywhere.
Well ... the best luck not catching that flu again.

:3 they will make your sword too.
So if you kill all the carebears, you can't get a new one.

      • You won't have anything to use it against.

It's the nr 1 reason, pay to win or hardcore pvp games die out so fast ... so often.
As long as there's no underlaying "eveness" or a high " attraction of new meat".

      @gothix Beatman are carebears. Yes.

If you decide that for them, That pve mostly is carebear terretory.

But i think, most beastman will join fights on either side. They're save from being ganged too much. So the PvP will be more group fighting, then "Oh 20 man zerg of xxx ganged me again!".

I dunno what is so fun about killing someone that farms things. With a sheer overkill in damage.
1 vs 1 is fine, but most times gangers go in groups. So they can feel superior to the carebear they slaughter.

Generell sind nur zwei Dinge wie bei Diablo.

      1. Draufsicht

      2. Nur eine begrenzte Anzahl an Skills/ Fähigkeiten Aktiv auf einmal

Der Rest ist komplett unterschiedlich ^^.
Diablo ist ein "Mob Killing" game, while Fractured is more of an exploration and teamwork type of game. With PvP Elements and City building.

If you want to compare it to diablo.
It's like Diablo + you can now make a home with your friends and murder mobs in style of wearing your guilds banner.

    • RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is

@jetah Yup, one reason the miss out on alot of people now. That might buy into packs at the own official website later on.

      But you gotta all remember.
      Normal KS behavior:
      Day 1~7 = Spikes up
Day 8~25= Slow mellow increase, except when good news drop that people waited for
Day 25~9= Last slow rise of activity
      Day 30= Last minute spike

So far i have often seen that the last minute spike was about 50%~500% of the overall backers. That first day spike amounted to 10~30%. And the rest was mellowed in between.

I expect the count to go up in the end. Or rise steeply when people see what they want to see in an update.

PS: Alot of people still don't know this exist. Spread the word.
