    • RE: B2P vs F2P

There were a ton of players during the open test, did you not see the chat? Not enough houses, no branches on the trees, all the spawns already killed, people fighting. I don't know where on the map you ended up being, but the game was busy.

As for f2p, that's too damn expensive for me. f2p easily heads into 5 figure territory for a lot of gamers.

old, but good explanation of why there will never be WASD in Fractured. (tons of discussion in the forum, but never found a better answer than this one)

    • RE: Travelling&Exploration

I can appreciate wanting some kind of fast travel skill, that we can learn by traveling over and over again to a particular location, that might allow us to learn how to travel back to it quicker. I know we won't be able to travel between the worlds without learning a skill first in order to open a portal to do so (forgive me if I'm forgetting the correct wording on this one) so I think it could also be possible to add a way for us to learn how to open a portal to a far away city once we've visited it a few times? Certainly it would have to be as hard to learn and expensive to cast as traveling off world would be. Or add in some alchemy potions that allow for increased movement speed?

@Kralith not sure, if they do, they can look at mine, I made 3 carts, yet I have 4.

@Kralith yeah, just read that, also quite likely, either way, there's some kind of calculation preventing some of the spawns from generating loot and/or kp.

That's cause your place is perfect and doesn't need rearranging.

    • Can't grasp items then disappear, no way to logout

Sometimes the game connection has an issue, and I can't interact with any of the environment. Eventually, I will become invisible, and so will anything around me other than the ground I'm standing on.

Thing is, there's no way to log out of the game, and the game itself just sits here, without disconnecting on its end. I end up having to close the program from outside of the game.

I did end up with an extra cart one time when I had this issue, I was pulling one, so when I reloaded, I suddenly had a second.

Here's some vid of it happening.

    • [FRAC-1903] Rotation of items only offers 3 instead of 4 choices

When you choose a blueprint, you cannot rotate it to place it in every direction you choose. As you can see from the video, were I to try to place the alchemist's table with the post along the side of the house, I cannot. I can put it to the left, to the right, or against the fenceline, but not facing towards the house. Other items are simlar, I showed the crafting table as well.

    • RE: You have no right to loot this.

I've been getting this once in a while, it's almost like there's duplicate animals. You'll find a fox, but there's a second one with it too, you get kp and loot for one of them, but the other says you have no right to it, and no points.

If you happen to just see the one mob but not both, and kill the one but not the second, then you get nothing. It's possible that someone else already killed the one that had the loot and left the one without it. First two days of this test, I didn't see two of every animal hanging out together, just one, nor did I see this message ever, but maybe they increased the number of animals for the stress test, but never increased the loot and kp for the added ones? I know yesterday all day I searched for bears, never found one, searched for black widows, found 3... so there is a definite overhunting of some going on, yet when you do find one, you find another right with it now.

Take deer, herds had just one stag running with them, now they have two. Direwolves, same, now they run in pairs.... So did they just add the animal but no loot to try to keep up with demand? Seems likely to me.

Holding spot for information on other blueprints once we know them. Also, please move this to a game guide section of the forum once we have them.

    • How to Build a House and How to Abandon a House.

This is for the "Rustic 3x3" blueprint, as other blueprints become available during other testing phases, I'll try to update this tutorial. For this particular house though, you'll need a total of 25 stone and 75 wood.

First, you need to find a plot of land, which might take you some time. I ran around for close to 40 minutes to find an empty spot for a screenshot, during the open weekend stress test in Feb 2020. There were no town spaces during this test, though I expect houses on the different worlds to look different, I'm sure the basic methods of collect, click and collect and click will follow this example.

Here is what an open spot looks like by the way, you can see this in the mini map in the upper left corner. If the square is yellow, no one has claimed it yet.

      unclaimed.PNG

Click the ruins, they look like this:
      unclaimed 2.PNG

You'll get a popup asking if you really want to claim this area. This helps in case you're running through an area and not intending to claim one. I suggest you find an area with a lot of resources nearby. (Hint, you need a lot more wood than you do stone)
      abandon 3.PNG

Once you have claimed the spot, the ruins disappear and the land is plotted out with markers, it looks like this:

      claimed.PNG

Then you can click "V" to choose your blueprint, this is the one we're using for this test, though there will eventually be others available in this list.

      choose blueprint.PNG

There will be a blue grid marked out at this point, upon which you can lay down how you want your house to be placed. If the house turns red, it's not able to sit where you want it. Ensure that there are no carts, or items in the footprint of the house. Once you have it where you want it and facing the direction you want it, (use q or w to rotate it) then right click to place it. The blueprint shows the fully built house.

      lay blueprint down.PNG

The foundation pillars are the first layer, they require 12 blocks of stone.

      first layer.PNG

You'll see an animation of your character building as you add to each section.

      building with stone.PNG

At this point, if you haven't already, you may wish to grab a cart to collect building supplies with, get used to this view:

      go get some supplies.PNG

Once the footings are complete, the next part of the foundation becomes visible, it requires an additional 11 blocks of stone.

      first done.PNG

The next layer is the floor, and it needs 2 blocks of stone, and 15 blocks of wood.

      layer 3.PNG

After this, there are wall struts to place, requiring 12 more blocks of wood.

      layer 4.PNG

Next come the walls, they take the most of any section, needing 33 blocks of wood. I actually ended up using 2 carts to build with before I reached this point.

      layer 5.PNG

Lastly, the door takes 5 blocks of wood.

      layer 6.PNG

The house then completes itself with the addition of a roof.

      done.PNG

This one took me around an hour and a half to complete, though I already had the carts made, and some supplies collected... because I already had a house, but wanted to make a tutorial for those who keep asking how.

Here was my first house, you'll note I changed the orientation for the second, because, why not.
      abandon 1.PNG

So, this is how to destroy a house, and yes, you do lose everything, even the items you place outside, despite what the warning says.

First, click the house button at the bottom of the screen, you'll get this popup:

      abandon 2.PNG

And then it will return to ruins and be available for someone to claim again.

Goblins did that to me, as seen in this video, they throw a net immediately upon reviving. It respawned me in my other character's house.

    • RE: opinion on most recent alpha test

A craft all for making food and other items would be nice

Monsters could do with some blood on the ground when they die maybe even look a little damaged

If you are left click attacking a mob it will try loot the dead mobs mid combat and put a big loot box in the middle of the screen

I especially like these comments in particular.

    • RE: Too much mouse clicking; hello carpal tunnel

Both keyboard control and mouse control are incompatible with carpal tunnel syndrome, due to the pressure of the wrist on the desk top. Lots of people will use a controller for gaming instead, xbox controllers are quite ergonomic and mitigate issues from this type of injury.

    • RE: Handcart multiplication

I also had this multiplication. I made one, dragged it to a stone deposit, collected some stone, started dragging it home, game froze, character turned invisible, assets in world turned invisible, I closed game, reentered and had two carts holding the same amount of items.

All items usable, still have both carts.

    • RE: Alpha 1 Testing Town A

So as alpha approaches, anyone in place to join in this town, I'll plan to make it US based as Kralith's will be Europe based. If any of you want to jump onto my discord to start planning who's going to have what role, please be my guest. Just let people know you're there for fractured, I'll set an alpha role up.

In fact, if you're not on this town but still want on the discord for when alpha starts, you're more than welcome to, I have an open room which I'll add you to.

There's a couple general chats for non game related stuff too, can be pretty crazy in there some days, but the more the merrier.

Also any language welcome, there is a privately owned translation bot that works really well, if English isn't your first language, it's pretty easy to use, and a spam room exists for which to do that.

Just let the people there know you're there for fractured alpha, and they'll grant you access to the game based rooms.
