RE: When does the BETA start?
@Tajger considering we have a single continent in a single planet out of three planned planets.
Considering we have one race out of three races planned, plus sub-races.
Considering a lot of intended mechanics have probably not even seen the start of development.
I wouldn't hope for an actual beta too soon. -
RE: New center map tooltip + colourblind-ish
@CoachFubar as a colorblind myself I agree on the risks of putting certain shades of red on certain shades of green.
(To a lesser extent females too can be coloblind)

RE: Respec bug
@OlivePit never thought about that but in fact it's an interesting exploit.
I suppose that if you change your talents preset it should reevaluate skills one too. -
RE: New here
@lunaticedit welcome to the forum!
Sadly wanting to play games on Mac is what force developers to put extra developing time for deviced that are becoming every day less compatible with the real world. -
RE: Death by the Underequipped?
While I agree that it could be intentional that two naked guys tear down a full metal buddy, maybe it would be best to tune down the cost of crafting metal stuff, since it's so unefficient in the end compared to a friend.
I mean, ok if gear is not all, but it also can't be nothing. -
RE: Bandage Hotkey
The current state is clearly flawed since bandages can be used from inventory so putting them into the hotbar is just a shortcut.
A choice must be made about this kind of consumables.- Make them part of the build, so only usable from the hotbar, with the disadvantage of making builds less varied, since everyone is probably going to have bandages available
- Make them part of a consumable slot section, where you put your consumables without breaking your build
- Remove them altogether because you must rely on your skills, but this means to tune down a lot mobs too, since a new player could have a hard time fighting mobs without bandages
- Tune them down a lot so that they are not so viable in end game builds

RE: [Suggestion] Center on your map location when you press M
While it's clearly a QoL that can wait for a while, I second the suggestion, when a map opens it's normal for it to be centered on the player and not on the last spot you were viewing.
It's not a matter of too many keyboard commands, it's a matter of how a map is supposed to behave when opened. -
RE: Warfare
@rgarrett I think this comment was totally unneeded here.

RE: Monster corpses
@Vonegram well on that I agree too.
It seems that currently corpse despawn corresponds to mob respawn.
It would make sense if the corpse was lootable by anyone (after an initial priority lock time for the player who killed the mob), but the fact that you get a lot of "You cannot loot this stuff" or "This has no loot in it" is kinda annoying.
Better if they despawn right after they have no loot in them, or kinda fast if they are not lootable anyway by others than the killer. -
RE: Hey! New Player Here -
@Adawson1 welcome to the forum!
On one hand this game has a lot of potential, if the developers can deliver what's in their mind completely.
On the other hand, like you say, being an alpha the product will feel unfinished and the sense of accomplishment is not really there yet.
A story is not really needed, in my opinion, if a game will stale it will stale, story or not, it only changes after how many hours it does it.
In the alpha you have an initial set of quests to guide you on your first steps, and since they've build up a complex cosmology with shattered worlds and stuff I suppose lore will be heavily implemented too, but of course now the focus is on game content and bug fixing.
The road is long and many thing can happen during the travel, I'm often cautious with crowdfunding, but this time I went in and I haven't regretted it, yet. -
RE: New inhabitant ~~ Hello everyone!
@Tajger welcome to the forum!
It's normal to get disappointed in Albion Online now, it started very good and it's ending up very bad with the business model they've in place.
As for alpha keys, I've heard that near alpha ending they open up for stress tests, otherwise you must find someone with spare keys, but I thing they went off already in the first days. -
RE: Fast travel between main cities
@yneternum ah you mean the two starting towns, I see!
I don't know if it's intentional that they are inland and not on the coast.
It might be useful if they were coastal now that you mention it, so you could already have a fast travel between north and south, of course always at a cost and even if player drive cities are not developed yet.
But now that I say it out loud (or write it down, in this case), maybe it's intentional that you cannot fast move in the initial phase of the game, and maybe it's intentional that fast travel via harbor has to be earned. -
RE: Long time lurker, first time poster.
@Neonis welcome to the forum!
Whenever I read the word "lurker" my mind flies back to Brood Wars... -
RE: [suggestion] Pvp zones
@TheLichKing yes a system like that could work indeed and I would agree on that.
Giving warning and time to people to move their stuff to a safer place is a good thing.
