      STEALING 1:

      If you are killed by the mob (or by environment) you drop your stuff on the ground. You can resurrect and reclaim it if you are quick enough. However, if someone else is quicker he can also loot it from the ground, and in that case THAT is stealing.

      STEALING 2:

      If you killed a mob you get loot permissions on it and you can loot it. Someone else can loot the mob too if he is quicker than you to its corpse, but in that case THAT is stealing.

      Those were 2 cases of stealing that I think devs were talking about.

      OTHER:

      There was no mention of pick pocketing of any kind, but who knows. Maybe we will see that in game too, there is still long way to go.

      Problem is that some people consider RP only when you go "deep in character" and use all the "rules" of speech and everything.

      Which is kinda "dumb" (to think that way).

      I mean, as long as you are playing your character, doing quests, PvP, gather resources, and you are immersed into game enough, you are already RP-ing. You are not doing your RL anymore, you are RP-ing by being immersed in that character in game.

      I'd say person should carry banner. It would be both more entertaining, and make more sense, due to most of the fights being mobile and not sticking around the same spot (unless in sieges, but even then the bulk of action moves around).

      I'd also say that anyone should be able to carry a banner, but the effect of banner bonus should depend on CHARISMA of character carrying it.

      So groups should chose a player with higher charisma to carry it for them to get better bonus.

      @Finland none of which tries to see how alignment correlates to schools.

      I'm curious to see if there is a correlation between playing mage and being good / evil, and for example playing a healer and being good / evil.

      It would be curious to see if people playing evil tend to be certain schools more than others, or if people playing healers or support roles tend to play more good than evil, and similar.

      So no, there aren't similar threads up. 🙂

    • Correlation between School and Alignment (Poll)

      I'm curious to see a correlation between school that people want to play (primarily / most of the time) and an alignment they want to be (primarily / most of the time), so I'm creating this poll.

      I would make more options for more specific answers, but unfortunately this is maximum poll options that I can add. Thus I also had to skip neutral alignment options. If your goal is to remain neutrally aligned, write this as a comment (together with magic school you will be).

      @luccheno well the restriction/delay should be influenced by the alignment/karma and not the race. The guild will be mixed but restricted under one alignment so the best choice would be a long queue if you try to change from evil to neutral or to good.

      There will be many factors and many circumstances. To be safe that any circumstances aren't abused, there should just be CD on re logging of ANY different character, regardless of race or alignment.

      Either put CD on any re log, or don't put CD at all anywhere.

      Thing is if beast men could just gather full time safe on Arboreus, and gather everything, full time without risk, they will gear up and skill up their professions MUCH faster then any other race, and thus become unfairly advantaged compared to them.

      You need to travel to obtain knowledge, yes, but you only need to do this ONCE. When you obtain all knowledge (skills) you are done and you have no reason to travel anymore.

      There should be more reasons to keep NEEDING to travel, due to that.

      Perhaps, pick pocketing could be a special knowledge skill that needs to be unlocked among the rest of the skills. It would get unlocked through some subterfuge or similar tasks in the world.

      You could only pick pocket from stealth and if successful you would steal a small amount of currency from another player. There would also be a CD on using the skill, so it's not abused.

      Also if you are spotted (regardless if that is short time after pick pocketing, or while doing it) you would automatically get aggressive status, same like if you attacked player.

      You would also be aligned properly to be able to pick pocket (same rules as for being able to initiate attack on someone).

      There should be sieges vs guild settlements for sure, so settlements on Arboreus aren't OP (protected/safe) compared to other settlements on other planets.

      Perhaps during a siege there would be no standard limitations that would port other races out of the planet, but a siege time should be special occasion where standard de buffs and limitations do not apply.

      Should the banner man be able to fight while carrying the banner?

      In RL old time wars, banner men could not fight due to banners being large and they needed both hands to carry them.

      But in game, I guess carrying the banner wouldn't be much fun for a player that would just carry it and couldn't do anything else, so we can't go in too much realism from this aspect.

      Perhaps, limit the ability to carry banner to support role players?

      Implementing delay could be a reasonable choice, so people aren't able to just quickly spam relog button to spy on other race PvP movements.

      In one spotlight it was said that there is an actual buffs and bonus change, and likely a visual transformation too (at least it is planned). It just wouldn't make much sense playing an angel that looks like a demon. 🙂

      I don't understand people that "must have" steam.

      OK, steam overlay is useful for those that use it, but those that don't, why have steam? It's just another middle layer, and you might have issues with playing (or at least shopping) while steam is down. Another used layer means another extra chance for things to go wrong in some way.

      If you want to have games in one place, just add them to same HDD / Folder and same folder in Windows start menu. xD

      Not everyone wants to PvE also. 😉

      It's why game should be a mix, but system has to be made in such way so it incentivizes both PvE and PvP, but not punish either.

      Sadly many devs now days, just implement PvE in classic way but then punish PvP with various punishment mechanics, and then call it PvX.

      It is not easy to incentivize both PvE and PvP, without punishing either. But I think Fractured might be on the right way.

      • you need to PvE to level up your professions and broaden your knowledge of skills (professions help with currency gain, and making gear and consumables)
      • you are incentivized to travel and explore, because not every planet will have all resources, also for knowledge
      • you are incentivized to PvP for resources, as you are not allowed to stay on other planets and just grind safely and infinitely
      • you will also need economy (which can be a way around PvP, to get resources, for those that do not want to PvP "too much", so they will be able to offset a part of PvP time with economy, while still not being immune to PvP thats happening around them)

      A really good system I think, as long as it stays this way.
