You cant move chests after you have placed them but hopefully in the future you can as it's nice to remodel

Not only remodel, but a multitude of people will just place them incorrectly at start because of recklesness, negligence, cus mom interrupted them with vacum cleaner, and multitude other reasons. πŸ˜‰

"Demo planet" could be a world that already exists in Alpha, that we are testing now.

Just keep it on separate instance separated from real game world (and of course polished up with all the retail fixes), and use it as demo. πŸ™‚

    • RE: How is the Development Team going to solve...

Fractured has an advantage that it will give players "the old school MMORPG feel to it" and players are here because they want that. So Fractured does not need to include "super ultra 16-D multi laser sun translucence support that will come with DirectX 16".

Isometric MMORPG only needs "so much" in graphics department for it to be wonderful. Graphics that we have seen in videos that already exist, are already awesome, and they will be more than good for decades to come, for this type of game.

Yeah I was annoyed by the same thing, tab moving away to whole another section, instead of to next field (password).
Then I realized I can use enter key to go to password after I typed in my user name. πŸ˜‰

Yeah, tab would have been more convenient.

@Jetah said in Houses in the wilderness:

      @Gothix

maintenance should really depend on materials used. cheap and easy materials should cost more to maintain but hardy and expensive materials should last longer.

Sure, but then, wilderness should only contain "raw materials", that you need to process to get the better quality materials. And then best quality processing should only exist in cities. So therefore, most houses in cities would require less maintenance.

You could of course drag these materials from city to your house far away, but that would then require some effort since your house is far away, leading to houses far away require more "maintenance / crafting effort", thus such houses in wilderness being more rare.

You can't honestly expect to get same conditions in city and in wilderness far away from everyone. This would then lead to the mentioned problem of "wilderness" being super populated with house... which in turn will make it ... "not wilderness".

Demons will solve disputed by murder (PvP).
Beasts will solve disputes by agreement (PvE).

Demons with low PvP skills will stay poor.
Beasts with low politics skills will stay poor.

For combination of the both, roll a human. πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Social interaction buffs

Hmm visiting a barber shop (shaving) giving you a slight temporary charisma buff could make sense.

Visiting a gym, doing some workout, giving you a slight temporary strength buff (and temporary character build visual muscle boost).

Visiting a library and reading a book for a while giving you a temporary INT buff, and some mystic glow around your hands.

      ...

But all these visual changes (and buffs) would only be temporary. The permanent cosmetic changes would come from other standard sources and wouldn't be connected with buffs in any way (to avoid P2W).

Mmmm... a mini zones of influence around guild created cities on Arboreus that allow an optional rule to be set by leadership allowing only guild members to farm in that area.

Attacking the mobs if not member of the guild would then lower your karma.

Maybe they’re bards and can be on the battle field. It’s already been proven that music can change someone’s emotions.

It’s a neat concept that you take some mental damage and need entertainment to repair it.

Or maybe you will need mental repair after hearing the bards song. πŸ˜›

Usually what MMOs do is following:

      1. do not react to initial whisper content, because you are able to ignore player if you don't like his messages
      2. if player is going around ignore mechanic (remaking new alts to re-whisper you), then GMs intervene and ban the player

    • RE: Power gap between r1 and r3 spells is too big (POLL)

@warpuppy said in Power gap between r1 and r3 spells is too big (POLL):

@jetah I gotta agree. If the mana cost dropped, THEN I'd say it was a bit too much, but unless your amount of mana increases in proportion, I don't see an issue.

Player A and player B have equal gear giving them both pool of 600 mana... (and for example 1000 HP pool).

(new guy) Player A has R1 spell, (veteran) Player B has R3 spell. (They are supposed to be competitive).

Spell (both r1 and r3) costs 120 mana, so both can cast it 5 times.

Player A can dish out 520x5=2600 damange in 75 seconds (CDs)... and then goes OOM.
Player B can dish out 780x5=3900 damange in 45 seconds (CDs)... and then goes OOM.

Player B has done 1000 damage (taken all player As HP pool) in 11,5 seconds.
Player B at that point has received less then ~400 damage from player A.

(I'm averaging this, since obviously cool downs are fixed numbers and it will take bit longer but end result and comparison between player A and B TTK remains the same, player B having a lot faster TTK.)

Player B is alive with 60% of his HP poll remaining.
      Player A is dead.

This is full loot PvP MMO promoting horizontal progression and new players being competitive vs veterans.

Who sees a problem with this? πŸ˜›

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

If it's channeled spell with fix channel time, then attack speed isn't a factor.

Or if it's somehow capped how much you can maximum drain in time period. For example, life can be drained only once per 2 seconds, and if your weapon attacks faster, then hits that land in between those 2 seconds do not drain anything.

Or if weapons drain based on attack speed, and faster weapons drain less per hit then slow weapons, so it's balanced.

So for example, if draining is a spell, it could be channeled and drain a fixed amount, during channeling time.

If draining is enchant on weapon, then it could drain fixed amounts based on weapon attack speed, with each hit.

    • RE: Social interaction buffs

Examples of temporary bonuses (from social activities) I would like (they would not be too OP, just something minor, and nothing directly affecting PvP efficiency):

      • your resting phase (near campsite, in the wilderness) will be 10% quicker (2 hours duration)
      • you can see fire type (X type) monsters on the mini map (2 hours duration)
      • after you are killed, your bag with dropped loot will remain on the ground 20% longer (unless stolen of course) (2 hours duration)

Stuff like that, utility bonuses connected with PvE, not stat increases, and nothing affecting PvP, and nothing too OP.

    • RE: How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?

To make it simple, when sending a report you are usually able to select a cathegory, like cheating, spam, abusive chat,...

If these cathegories are well made, there can be a cathegory "real life threats" under "chat" main cathegory.

GMs can then deal with it as they wish (according to TOS policies) and those reports do not mix with other reports, thus not wasting GM time while they are solving other report cathegory.

@genobee said in Social interaction buffs:

@gothix I still feel like this would become required for certain types of activities. Needs to be even more minor in my opinion. Otherwise it's going to become something you constantly run back to refresh every half hour or so. That's tedious.

Not half hour, because I suggested 2 hours duration. πŸ˜‰

And, imho, these buffs I wrote aren't OP at all, or really required. Rest phase lasting just tiny bit shorter, or seeing certain type of monsters on your mini map (not main map) so that means in your closer proximity - you would run into those anyway while moving just few meters around... that's imho nothing that would be "required".

I mean, I certainly wouldn't be arsed to travel back to tavern just to refresh those, unless I'm really close to tavern in the first place and it's on my way.

    • RE: This game will it be free to play someday?

If the model ever changes to "free to login and walk around" there will be some other monetization system involved. You will never get a MMO that is completely free because developer time and server costs have to be payed somehow.
