    • RE: Firendly fire?

Perhaps during an invasion time period, FF is activated for beast men as well.

Explanation: due to panic caused by imminent danger (demon invasion) beast men loose part of focus, and now can hit non guildies / non party members with FF as well.

This could add balance so that during invasion time all factions can suffer from FF.

    • RE: Let's pray for sick Blizzard :(

      @zidroc

I played on 2 servers back in the day, simply because I had too.

I played on PvP server with my first main (undead mage). I played in one of the better PvP guilds. Organized matches with teamspeak and people knowing not only how to play their own class, but also how to play as a team, was super fun.

However, most of people on PvP servers were focused on, yeah you guess, PvP 🙂 so there weren't any super successful PvE raiding guilds there. PvE raiding there was mediocre at best. So I had to have another main (nightelf druid) on a PvE server, enlisted in a raiding guild that raided the high end content.

That is how I was able to have the best of both worlds, raiding with PvE guild when raiding days were, and rest of the days, having real PvP matches with a PvP guild. (PvP matches on PvE server happened, but they were mostly PuGs, and organized teams there, honestly, just weren't on the same level as teams on PvP server).

So having characters on both (PvP and PvE) servers was a must back then, if you wanted to do both, top PvE, and have an actual challenge in PvP.

Now days, at least on private vanilla servers, people are all experienced veterans and know how to play both PvP and PvE, so you can have it all by playing just on a PvP server, both raiding and PvP.

    • RE: Whats your favorite character Class to play on your first Character

@Miffi As I wrote before, I will be playing in guild, and I don't mind either way. 😉 I'm actually advocating solo players here (for a change, lol) for the reason that devs mentioned that they wish to make Fractured more friendly for solo players than Albion Online is.

If that is the case, they will not make it impossible for certain characters (based on their attribute point distribution) to have certain mobs impossible to handle, even after switching their builds.

Also take a special note that when you start playing, you do not have alternate builds to chose from, and you gotta make do with what you have on start. So unlocking knowledge points can not be an impossible task, specially since solo players should be able to do it.

This means that solo players with 0 INT, and starting decks, should still be somehow able to handle physical immune mobs (even if it will be hard).

But, as I said, anything is fine by me. I actually prefer MMO to be extra hard, and not appropriate for solo player. I will be playing in guild, and I love challenging content, so... all good. 😉

    • RE: Guild and pvp questions

It would make sense that guild members and party members can not attack each other while belonging to a same group.

Fractured, being a sandbox oriented, should leave a freedom to guilds to decides what happens depending on what their members do.

So for example if you are running a good guild, and a member turns bad guild has a choice to kick the said member, and then attack him. Guild should also have a choice to keep the said member and support him, or do whatever else they want.

@Miffi We are all solo players from time to time, sometimes when grinding, or solo PvPing, not always doing it in group. Sometimes playing solo can be quite fun. 😛

That being said, I do prefer group content and a social atmosphere, organized group PvP, etc. The harder the MMO is, the better (imo). 🙂

    • RE: Dungeons

Perhaps they could have dungeons like in Age of Conan.

When you reach dungeon entrance you would be able to chose if you want to enter a "solo version" of a dungeon, or a "group version" of a dungeon.

Group dungeon would, of course, be harder. All knowledge would be obtainable even from a solo version. Group version would be optional and provide a bit better loot to reward the effort.

    • RE: Will there be raids?

@Dagimir There will be hard world bosses, they may require raids to fight.

What you probably meant is will there be an instanced raids? Fractured MMO is not focusing on instances, it's focusing on open world, full loot open PvP, which could also include hard monsters that will require many people to defeat.

The only possible connection with instances would be asteroids, that will be proceduraly generated content. They could come in form of "classic raids", although we don't have many details yet on how they will work, so we don't know if an asteroid will allow everyone in who wants it, or will some asteroids allow only single group of people (raid) to enter. It's quite possible some of the asteroids will allow everyone in, and some might be designed as "classic raid" events.

We need to wait to get more info on that.

    • RE: Dungeons

Perhaps instead it can be done with managing loot rights, and per player.

A player that killed boss X, now has a cool down on loot from boss X for some time. He can keep killing that boss when he re spawns, but it's worthless for him to do so until cool down period expires.

Cool downs are saved per player for each boss. For example, a character screen could have a tab where player could see his own loot cool downs for each boss he killed, and a timer how long till each cool down expires.

    • RE: Switching Characters

@Crache I am hoping for some cool down before you can switch to your different character.

So if you log off, you can instantly log on to character you already played before log off, but if you log off and want to log on to different character, you have a cool down and you have to wait a bit. This could prevent players switching characters quickly to abuse situations.

    • RE: Dungeons

I'd assume bosses will (due to them being a more difficult to kill) drop a more rare resources, so farming them will likely still be beneficial.

Otherwise, why would anyone go to dungeon? Would be more effective to farm normal mobs.

@target I would like to know how guild territory works, I do not think people can attack all the time, but maybe @Specter know better?

We know that you can not attack a player in a good controlled city unless it's a siege time. I forgot where I've read this, but it was a dev post. This means that obviously if you can't attack players in a city at all times, than control / ownership of the city can't change at any time. So this means sieges will have time windows when they can happen.

In evil controlled cities you can attack player at any time (assuming you deal with the city guards as well), but these cities will logically also have siege time windows of their own where control / ownership can shift.

We do not yet however know how often will these time windows happen, and how long will they last.

Cookies make me quiet. When I'm eating cookies, I'm mmm omnom, and I do not speak. 😉

In forums, if thread posts become circle and repeat of same things over and over, I usually give up posting there at some moment.

When I will drink Shroffee, I will enjoy the taste and be quiet. 🙂

or stay half an hour off the game?

      You miss understood.

You do not need to stay half an hour off the game. In such scenario you could log on your other character instantly and play it, but your previous character would stay in the world unresponsive and risk being killed. You would already be playing your second character.

There must be a trade off in some way. You should not get to just quickly switch around in completely safe and quick way to escape any danger.
