    • RE: Would love to see mob loot drops tied to knowledge

Lower profession skill = RNG results (because you mess the things up often)
Higher skill results = RNG is non existent, or very minimal (because you are professional, who very rarely messes up)

Tools may be part of factor as well, worse tools, better tools.

Perhaps how well rested you are as well? 😉

      @PeachMcD

      1. Having to use another profession to help out, for example, book writing (or profession connected with writing documents, and map making or similar), you prepare materials (notebook to write your observations in, then having a specific tasks you have to perform with mob, while required to have those profession tools in your bag), this could get you knowledge on mobs.

How complex would that be to introduce, that's up to devs. 😄

    • RE: Your favorite Dailies, or what you would like to see them as.

In general, I would say that I personally dislike "activity timers" all together.

However, cool downs on professions are not so bad, because I can always do other things to get gold, and then spend gold to buy leather that I didn't get by tanning. There is always other options.

Daily quest rewards are usually soul bound in MMOs, and if you missed it you missed it. You wasn't able to purchase it or get it in any other way.

Now... IF daily quest rewards were something that wasn't soul bound, and there is economy tied to it, and you can do something else, and just buy "daily rewards" on the market, then it wouldn't be that bad.

But this mostly wasn't the case in MMOs, and this is why when players hear "daily quests" red lights turn on everywhere.
Which is not the case with profession cool downs for the before mentioned reasons. 🙂

    • RE: Ok, Bought the game after a 2 min video on youtube; was it the right choice?

Game is far from finished, so if you like what you see now, you will like it much more later.
A lot more stuff getting added, new lands, races, technology,...

      Stick in, and follow. 🙂

    • RE: [POLL] Guild tag beginning or end of the name?

I like it under the name.

When Im in town, i like to be able to find players by name quickly when I need to find person who wants to do a trade with me or similar.

Also i like to be able to quickly recognize known griefers out in the wilderness.

Character name being above and guild name below is nice tidy way of displaying players info, its why most MMOs adapted to that.

      Don't change what works. 😉

    • RE: Goodbye Grind?

There will never be any game in which you would need to "do nothing". What would be the point of a game then? Log in and watch the stars? 😄

The question is only how extensively you will need to repat certain activity.

If you take Korean games and see how extensively you need to spend your life, doing same action over and over... and over again... that's grind.

If you just need to get some coins for the house, and then you are done, your house was build. Thats not grind. 😉

Also for all repeatable activities, it's just he question how extensive repetition is, and is this activity you must do exclusively for itself, separated from other gameplay, or is it something that just comes along naturally, while you are also doing other stuff.

Many factors are involved here in determining is something "grind" or not, and how large of a grind it is.

    • RE: How do you think the Economy will actually function?

Items not requiring repair, doesn't necessarily mean items must have decay.

Perhaps there is no item decay, as well as no durability (so no repairs). And the way sink will work is by limited storage capacity players will have and will not be able to store millions of items.

Then players will need to dismantle items to percantage of base materials, because materials will stack and be usable to craft other things.

This percentage of returned base materials does not need to be high. It can be, for example, 20%. This will sink the materials.

Also perhaps re-enchanting an item will be so expensive that it will be more worth for a player to simply craft new, and enchant it from scratch.

Add loosing of gear, through PvP, people breaking stolen items, and you have efficient sink.

Item durability and decay arent the only ways to create that sink.

@Nekrage said in Info on Changes to Guild Cities:

I personally would like to see a LOT of control given to the governor. If they want to lock the city to guild only they should be permitted to do so.

However, to balance for that, by giving more control to governor, you also have to implement more potential ways for people to "dethrone him".

Otherwise game can just turn to governors dictatorships.

    • RE: Bummer for me: "Hello Governor! A few city-claiming tips for you..."

@Dordolio said in Bummer for me: "Hello Governor! A few city-claiming tips for you...":

i am a governor of nothing unless i find other players

Of course - and what's so strange about that?

You can't rule without support, not now, not later in game. If you don't have support you will just get de-throned and another governor will be elected. Or your city will get attacked, and without support in defense, you will easily lose it.

Did you just assume you buy governor pack, and you are governor for life without any support? Forget NPCs, this is not a single player game mate. 🙄

You need to activate yourself, find friends / citizens, and with their help and support, lead.

These are just hard facts, a little realism, that will hopefully shake you up, and put you on the right path. 🙂 Consider this as a practice for the real game later on, because that is exactly what this is.

    • RE: What is your biggest want in this game?
      • boats, ocean exploration and boat PvP, exploring far new lands, difficult and dangerous ocean fishing expeditions
      • weather conditions and disasters, influencing city management and PvP/PvE in open world
      • housing underground, secret cellars and tunnels (yeah I know this is not likely to happen, but since we are listing our desires here... 🙂 )
      • detailed marriage system, tied with resource sharing, and resource division after divorce (hmm, a contract system)
      • city (and/or guild) infiltration / spy mechanics, being able to be citizen of one city, but "fake" a citisenship of another to gain info, make subterfuge, etc. and with consequences if you are discovered

Eh OK I will not list anymore to not make Devs head hurt. 😛

    • RE: Flavour to Lichs/Non-demon evils

@LonelyCookie said in Flavour to Lichs/Non-demon evils:

The idea of summoning player-demons was meant in addition to the normal planet teleporting and strictly "player-player" interaction, not replacement. Except if summoned by another player, player-demon would suffer less debuffs, could stay longer, get a buff or something, while debuffing/hurting the summoner.

This ends up as likely P2W abuse. Players pay $$ for multiple accounts, and then summon themself, buffed to other world, gaining advantage, longer stay on the planet, more resources, more ingame gold, through longer stay on the planet (while also buffed).

    • RE: PvP Flagging Requirement

When game releases there will be 3 worlds with different rulesets.

Demon world, with free for all PvP, Arboreus with huge area completely protected from PvP, and Syndesia where you will be able to initiate PvP action, but then will suffer consequences, severity of which will depend on which guild controls the zone you are currently in, and what kind of rules they have set for this zone they control.

So there is no need for flags in finished product. 🙂

Right now there is only one world, being tested, so things are a bit different.

    • RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?

Limiting household in this day isnt an option, not only because of family play, but also because its so easy to fake where you are playing from. Abusers would simply pretend each their avatar is playing from different location.

    • RE: Alts

Yeah, I used to have multiple alts in many MMOs as well. Before when I had much more time to play.

Nowdays, I still play, but I generally focus on one character. It's enough for me. Several characters would just take bunch of time that I do not have.

There is a myth that a "life" is out there. I'm still trying to find it. 🙂

    • RE: The Potential City Problem.

Having PvP ability is not only about being able to PvP when you want.

The major part is the danger that is always present. It creates completely different atmophsfere while playing. Even when you do not aim to PvP, you still need to watch what you are doing.

Even if you don't meet anyone at all for a good period of time, just the possibility that you could and that it might be dangerous, is what makes all the difference.

    • RE: The Potential City Problem.

Yes, devs made really nice world design where every type of player can find a place that fits him.

This is what makes Fractured different than other MMOs and this will attract many different types of players to the game.

Why cater only to one type of crowd, when you can have multiple worlds and cater to everyone.

And imho people who would like to change every world to their own liking are just greedy and not worth paying attention to.

Fractured has a place for everyone and thats great! 🙂

    • RE: New Armors and weapons, how do you think will effect the gameplay and your build?

Usually meele has it easyer in these types of games, especially if there is plenty gap closers available.

Its much easyer to just swing your weapon, then manually aim your spells on targets that aren't non intelligent mobs. Also if meele can catch you easily, you are practically done.

Imho, playing a spellcaster requires higher skill cap. But in the end it will all depend on how the game is balanced.
