    • RE: Easy respec for test.

      @Turrug Actually, they barely added the respect feature as it is, and said they were putting those limits in purposefully when they did. They will more than likely make those limits even longer on game launch, and also include an associated cost to respec, not just free once a week.

      The Alpha has gone through a few permutations now...so they really aren't catering to people wanting to try out the multiple builds (unless they want to dedicate time to that) as they already have that kind of data. They introduced the new builds and new skills, but they still want feedback on how people react to their initial choices and being mostly locked in. They are being quite generous in allowing respecs at all, and not just telling people to delete their character and start fresh.

      @Shivashanti Ahhh, I see, looks like it is related to how many smelters and tanning tubs are nearbye and they are causing an asset rendering lag.

    • RE: imbued chipped diamond can't be socketed to scholar boot bug or not ?

      @grofire As with many aspects of this game, instead of telling you which enchantments go with which item types, it is now a trial and error thing.

      Prometheus, in the video introducing the new imbuing system, did mention that you now imbue the gem with the feature, and then socket it into an 'appropriate piece of gear' As we already knew from before, each gear type has a different set of things that they can be imbued with, so, now you need to match the enchanted gem to the type of gear that can take that enchantment, through trial and error, and the message is the part that tells you it is on purpose.

      @Clinion Would be helpful to know which mobs specifically you've noticed this in. For instance, Dire Wolves and Worgs always seemed to have a huge Aggro in previous tests.

    • RE: Stutters

      @Leonmitchelli Stuttering would be an issue with your system/internet, not the game servers, unless there is an unusually high population in game at a given time, and I don't think we currently have that many testers.

    • RE: Some suggestions and fix after this test

      @Meziljin said in Some suggestions and fix after this test:

      Delete time on wagon and charts: GREAT IDEA, but 24 hours seems a bit low, maybe we could consider 48, just to avoid someone lose materials for a day out of game, which could happen maybe during weekend or for some trouble with internet or private issues

      The delete timer stops of you leave your wagon/cart on your own plot. I also think it stops in town, but could be wrong there.

      A lot of your other points I can get behind, however, you do have to realize some of these things are reacting to other players requested fixes, and so they are experimenting to see what works. The Timers for Ore is something others have asked for. They decided after that one test with the ore nodes being connected to the cities, that it made more sense to make ore nodes open to the world, and then cities would have to monitor the nodes and get to them first if they wanted them all to theirselves.

      Arrows: As they have the exact same stats, Stone and Bone arrows should just result in 'Basic Arrows' so they can interstack with each other. I'm okay with not having a counter, because one of the things a warrior in battle has to deal with is not knowing for sure how much ammo they have left, unless they periodically check, just like a gunman with his/her clip.

      @Meziljin said in Various bugs:

      Brazier in my house is set to only co-owners using, but every stranger can come into my house and use it to rest, is it normal?

      Yes, this is normal. Fireplaces can be used by everyone to sleep, but not for things like cooking food (I think) although that might be usable too. Really, setting it to Co-Owner only allows you and the Co-Owner to modify it's position, and that's about it I think.

    • RE: First time playing fractured! Some notes/feedback

      @PeggyHill said in First time playing fractured! Some notes/feedback:

      starting city needs an icon on the map

      Agreed, no issue with this

      cliffs run for far too long making it very annoying to travel at times

      This is actually the point of the cliffs. They want to make it extra annoying for those who try to cut across land instead of using the roads. Totally intentional, which is why they stopped teleportation powers from bypassing this.

      enemies often get pulled from off screen making farming very hard at times(I was fighting one guy at range but now I'm fighting 5!?).

      I can see how that is annoying. Especially with no way to pan the camera around.

      ice arrows mp cost is very high, mp potions would be acceptable fix

      They are constantly balancing costs like mana. Don't expect any mana potions or the like, however, until they get their balance correct. Even then, the mana and/or health potions will by game design be character created.

      (as an archer) kiting is janky because if you mis-click you are suddenly running towards the enemy instead of shooting

      This is an intended drawback in the combat system. They want the mouse driven action system so that you can sometimes mistarget and end up running instead of attacking sometimes.

      more gold bearing mobs are needed in the open world (not just at hot spots)

      They pretty much only want Gold mobs near POI. It has already been noticed throughout the previous alphas that there is soooo much gold available, and not enough gold sinks, that gold is already losing a lot of its value. Adding in more gold carrying mobs would only make matters worse in that regard. If you want gold, they want you to have to venture into the POIs, as an incentive.

      need autorun so my carpal tunnel doesn't kill me

      There has been talk about adding an autorun function. They don't want WASD movement, but they have agreed that autorun might be a good thing to add, but it is a QoL improvement that you probably won't see until Beta.

      without gathering/refining/crafting xp requirements (like other games) the economy might not scale well with larger player base

      Agree to disagree. I think the economy as they have it mapped out is looking pretty good so far.

      not enough horse spawns

      It may seem this way, but then there are an overabundance of horses out there in the game. Especially as your horse cannot be killed. It respawns with you so you can just catch one and your golden.

      finding (the incredibly rare)small stones feels bad. would be less bad if you needed only 5 for campfire or when destroying a campfire you get some/all of them back. Or if you could mine a stone node and get some small rocks as well as the big block(maybe smash big block to make small rock yea?)

      I could get behind this!

      if wagon is parked on my plot it shouldn't de-spawn

      According to design, if it is parked on your plot, its despawn timer is reset. This means carts are supposed to be safe on your property, if you have noticed differently, make sure the cart is all the way within the property line, and report the issue to Prometheus.

      way too much of the map feels the same (endless plains)

      They've already explained that a lot of the biome artwork is still in development. They are more working on the mechanics right now, with some fleshing out of art here and there, but nothing dedicated. Expect most of the sameness to slowly go away, but not really any major changes until Beta.

      plant spawns feel very random, would be better if carrots for example spawned more in groups (stone/ore spawns feel a bit better)

      Because of the whole food and reagent thing, plant spawns are purposefully randomly sprinkled around the map. However, a place where you find a patch of carrots will respawn carrots eventually not something else. They don't want wild patches of heavily grouped gather items, as they want to encourage you to explore as much as possible.

      art direction/lighting need more attention. Feels a bit bland.

      See above comment about art and biome work. Expect this to change by Beta, but only gradually in alpha.

      not being able to join a good player's party if you're neutral doesn't feel right and is an inconvenience to travel back to town to change it.

      Having remained Neutral, I haven't experimented with this yet, however, the restrictions on Good, Neutral, and Evil are being experimented actively right now to balance possible PvP on Syndesia, so expect this topic to be in flux as they work on it.

      losing max health when being knocked down feels meh, I'd rather lose equipment durability

      You do lose equipment durability whenever your equipment is used. However, the loss of permanent health until you go back to town was implemented about 3 tests ago to depower campsites and stop them from being exploited so much, and to make it incentivize players to go back to town periodically and not try to stay out and grind for several hours even when dropping multiple times. They want even close to deaths to truly mean something and that's why they have it this way.

      Good list of Likes and Dislikes, but thought, as your new, I'd address the dislikes with some of the feedback that has already addressed these issues.

    • RE: Few In-Game Suggestions

      @BECKFAST

      1. They have said that that is one system they definitely DON'T want. the whole primary goal of Fractured is to be a Horizontal Progression game, not a Vertical Leveling system with Experience. This they have said was a hard line, and you definitely won't get. To give this to you would be to violate the promise they made during Kickstarter.

      2. Actually, even on your own plot, you pay a gold cost for things.

      3. They purposely don't want people to be able to transfer houses. They want every home-owner to have to go through the build process. At least other players can help you build, but if the plot of land goes to someone else, a whole new build phase needs to happen.

      4. The Cart system fits exactly into the planned gameplay of Fractured. They want to have some 'tedious' things in the game, and they want to differentiate between light load items (gathered reagents, food, rope, clothing, etc...) and large construction items (Ore, Stone, Wood Logs, Resource Stacks.) This is purely on purpose, so don't expect it to change too much. They have made some small adjustments, and I, for one, would love to see something where you could take like 100 of a light item, bag it at the bagging station, then load it into a cart or wagon.

      @Fizzbob Yes, this is intended, as Prometheus alluded to in the last video. That's not a City Tax as much as a Game Gold Sink, although the city your attached to might get a cut.

    • RE: Cart handling improvement

      @Selfish part of the goal is to make things take a little time to do, so as to make the overall game last longer. They don't want players just zooming through all the planned content, so they have added steps and such to things just to slow this down a little bit. This game is horizontal, not vertical in progression, so you can't eventually build up your character to solo a Legend, let's say, you will always need a raid party. In other games, eventually, you can level up to the point that most mobs can be taken on solo, with maybe a little risk, but that's not Fractured's goal.

      They also don't want instanced content (except maybe the asteroids, they haven't said yet, but I don't think that's the intention) and they don't want non-player designed gear, so there needs to be things in the game to slow progress down and make the game seem more full.

    • RE: campfire changes from previous tests is bad IMO

      @grofire Although I agree with most of what you say, the HitPoint Debuff from dying should still require going to an actual fireplace like in a home or a town, over just a campfire.

      Yes, Campfires should fully heal you (minus the debuff) and restore your mana, allow you to swap out Talent and Skills, and cook food, but not get rid of the death debuff..that is sometimes the only thing forcing people to take a break, otherwise they set a strategic campfire and just grind for hours

      @Leonmitchelli you're free to have your opinion.

      All I can say is, you've got a decent graphics card, I'm using the 2070, only slightly better and mine is just fine. Just having worked tech support for so long, I've found Windows 8.x to have issues with a lot of programs because of being a memory hog. You didn't mention how much RAM you had, though, so who knows. Could just be a rendering error from something else. Try repairing your installation

      @StrainInevitable

      1. Seeing a terrain line at this stage in the game is a non-issue, and
      2. When reporting a bug, they generally want more information than that. Just a screen shot isn't good enough. I had to zoom way in to even see what you were talking about, as it is.

    • RE: SephGamesTV - Bugs, issues and feedback

      @sephgamestv

      Re: Primative Dagger is probably meant to be that way. Your first upgrade isn't necessarily going to increase Damage range and things, shoot, a jailhouse Shiv can do relatively the same damage as a knife really.

      The main advantages to the other daggers is the ability to add enchanted gems to them, add other advantages based on the grade of metal they are made out of, etc... The Primative Dagger is to get you into battle with a decent enough weapon before the forges have been built.

      Re: Resistances in Talent Tree, they are playing around with different talents, trying to find the right fit. Right now, magic is limited by the extremely quick mana cost, and slow regen rates associated with it, so they probably figure the balance is there.

      Regardless, they only have so many Talent Branches, and they are trying to find the right mix of talents to make the Talent grid the best it can be, without causing a major imbalance in the game.
