    • RE: Housing Thoughts

They have intentionally locked each Account to 1 house/citizenship per planet. That being said, you can grant co-ownership of your house to a friend/loved one who already has a house, and vice versa, so that's the only work around you'll have to this.

    • RE: store item exchange polisy

@ReRoll even if you buy as a gift, you have to give the account over to them right away. You can't log in with the key, gather resources and unlock knowledge points, then transfer the account. The account further is now in their name, linked to their email, so if they decide to stiff you on those resource demands, you can't do anything, because it is not a binding thing by the game standards. Want someone else to 'farm/gather' for you, then join a guild together and talk it out like adults, but your way isn't within the ToS either.

    • RE: Problems with everyone being able to gather, craft, tame, etc...

@ShadowLaw As @spoletta said, if your judging purely from Mage Armor, your not really getting the whole picture. 'Light' Armor is notoriously the easiest armor to gather with almost no real time sink.

Medium Armor requires tanning hides, which take like 8 hrs each, require a Tanning Tub, and currently run the risk of being swiped if you don't watch the tubs closely or have them set up on your personal parcels.

Heavy Armor takes at least 8 hrs to refine as well, and you can only refine 1-2 ingots per Smelter, and it carries the same drawbacks as Medium does with someone coming along and swiping your goods.

Add to this, Metal nodes are in specific areas of the map and can be camped and controlled by PvPers on Syndesia and Tartarus at least. They require a Wagon or Cart to move, and this slows you way way down. With no fast travel, that means very few people will invest in making the Heavy Armor and Metal Weapons that require ingots. When it comes to hides and Leather, again, different types of hide drop rates and spawn areas will be adjusted when the game goes live. They also weigh enough that people grinding out their KP will seriously consider whether to carry those hides around or leave them on the corpses of foes or drop them in the wilderness.

The time-sink system in Fractured can create a supply and demand situation to keep markets, crafting, and gathering relevant without too much tweaking.

    • RE: Problems with everyone being able to gather, craft, tame, etc...

I agree with @spoletta and @OlivePit on this.

There has been complaints about the time sink involved in some crafting, but when you consider that's the "investment" side of crafting, you come to realize it will keep the market viable in the long run.

As to gathering, remember also that in Alpha, the availability, or Saturation of some resources is probably set to a different level than it will be at full release and there are a lot more resources and recipes planned that haven't been implemented yet. Couple this with world specific resources and a higher stable population and the real value for crafted goods goes up considerably.

No shared bank means goods must be transported safely from one market area to another as well, so entire groups will probably be dedicated to just moving resources from one area safely to another, at varied risk levels.

Everyone can gather we r/craft/tame is meant to be a feature of Fractured, and putting that behind a class/build/archetype wall would defeat the feature element of it.

    • RE: Tender Subject: Kickstarter packs

This would more than likely not be allowed by ToS.

All accounts are generally considered non-transferable in such games to prevent someone from power leveling a character, then selling that character off as a method of making money off of the game. Granted, there is no leveling per se in Fractured, however, such an account could unlock all the Knowledge Points and gather up a bunch of in-game resources and gold and then be 'sold' which would be a 'Pay to Win' method.

Basically, this means that all accounts are generally non-transferable, period in such games, and that is considered an internet MMO standard, so I seriously doubt Fractured will be the exception to that rule.

    • RE: store item exchange polisy

They specifically don't want this game to become Pay to Win, so they make sure anything you get in the store is account bound. If they allowed you to sell it, you could use it to get way ahead of others.

    • RE: The Tutorial – To Add, Please Don't

      I second this.

That being said, upon launch, they could add an instanced tutorial for players to familiarize themselves specifically with controls, since some of them are not intuitive, like seeing the house claim icon show up...it is so easy to miss, and knowing to click on some of the building materials to switch them out for other materials. If you gave people the option to enter a tutorial instance...where nothing you got from that tutorial could translate over to the actual game, some might appreciate it, while others, like you and me, enjoy the whole going around and figuring it out routine.

    • RE: Second wind rework suggest

Although the first version matches the wiki entry, I don't think it's accurate, unless they revised it and left this off tge revision history.

As I recall, I couldn't use Second Wind when wielding a Mage staff. I could be wrong, itsbeen a couple tests since I had the skill, but I remember being frustrated by it.

    • RE: I love this game dev add more gear

@RoyalX Remember, we're still in the testing phase. They won't upload all the various resources/gear until release more than likely. They want to keep options down during testing so as not to muddy the waters on bug feedback.

    • RE: A simple yet powerful thing

@DarthJafo I agree with this and @OlivePit in this, ,@Cellticlink

having luck notifications after every action would grow to make the game so tedious most would give up on it. It is not like damage, your example, because damage notifications just come up in combat. Crafting notifications just come up while crafting, knowledgepoint gains just come up when new knowledge points are gained, but Luck affects literally EVERYTHING in the game and thus it would be non-stop luck notifications flooding your screen.

Luck works best when it is innocuous anyway. You never quite know if luck pushed you over, or something else. Let luck fade into the background and be as enigmatic as the concept implies.

    • RE: Feedback

      @Bullen couple things:

      1. They have no intentions to include a repair mechanic.
      2. Death HP loss is purposely tied to towns/buildings and not campfires. They tried it the other way first so the change was intentional.
      3. Alchemy hasn't been introduced yet so mana restore items may eventually arrive.
      4. They purposely keep total resources to build multipart construction unknown.
      5. Stone and ore nodes originally gave 2 pieces but they needed that.. may change again on full launch

    • RE: Improvements to the tutorial

      @DarthJafo

They do not intend c to make this a quest-driven game. Aside from the tutorial they don't really plan more quests at all.

As for horses, I don't see them placing a horses found here marker as they want horses to be a self limiting resource since they don't die.

    • RE: cd reduction doesnt work

@yneternum a 15% cool down wouldn't really show on any ability with less than a 7 tick cooldown as they don't round.

    • RE: Why no camera control ?

Camera controls is not set to be a feature of this game as of now. There are still a few people lobbying for it, but so far the Devs are pretty set on keeping the fixed camera position

    • RE: Alpha Weekend starts today!

@Jahlon this is a legacy typo issue. You used to harvest wheat for quest, but players were stockpiling starter wheat to quick upgrade their cities so it changed to Rye, but the tool tip for town wheat never got updated

    • RE: skill library

The game is not actively encouraging Alts. You can have them, but they purposely have them locked in certain ways so someone doesn't 'work the system' with alts. You can do a re-roll on your character in certain situations, however if you create an alt,, it starts from scratch except for 'protected' status and of course if on the same planet, sharing residences/city citizenship

    • RE: Item System

Also note, another hard line in the sand the Devs have drawn is that they won't have repairs for gear. They want a dynamic player driven economy where your gear wears out and you replace it as needed with new combinations of gear.

    • RE: Information and Research on gamigo

@Rungar said in Information and Research on gamigo:

nobody who plays mmos trusts Gamigo

I keep hearing this, but I've played MMOs since the 90s and have no problem with Gamigo...further, I talked to the eSports people at the local college and most of them have no issue with Gamigo as well.

    • RE: Item System

@Rungar The Devs have set out a hard line in regards to the item system being completely player driven and crafted. There will not be 'findable' full items, only materials and reagents for creating crafted goods with finite durability so that they will cycle through the economy.

I personally like a little bit of RNG, but the Devs and many of the player base shot that down completely when it was brought up recently as well, so don't count on it.
