    • RE: How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?

It's been my experience in most mmos that is someone uses vulgar or hate speech those are bannable. Vulgar usually gets a warning and hate speech is usually auto. It's not hard for a gm to pull speech logs either.

    • RE: Upgradable Pets

@Nyquil44 There are both cosmetic and combat pets from what I understand.

I saw some mention of collision between players. Hopefully cosmetic pets will not block movement. That is as much a concern for the person with the pets as the ones around them. I always hated having to command the mule to move in UO so I could move through a door lol.

@Yitra I expect the pve areas to be overpopulated for this reason. It has been my experience that most the pks do indeed search for easy prey. They speak about the fun of fighting other players when in fact what they really mean is the fun in beating down kills that have little chance of fighting back. I've seen many a new player spawn with pks trolling. They aren't there for the loot just to get some easy kills for the sheer fun of bullying weaker players. I detest this playstyle. To me the form of pvp that should be emulated in a game is organized pvp or specified pvp zones where everyone is actually there to fight other players.

It's been my experience that the more stuff on the screen the more lag. I would like to see pets that are cosmetic in nature be limited to 1 and pets that can actually do damage be limited as well. The more pets allowed to fight with you the more unbalanced it will be for every other class.

This happens in every mmo. I remember I had this awesome spot in UO farming this particular dragon with my bard/provoker. I literally made millions there. One day comes along a bard/dexer who just started attacking everything I was killing. He was able to put out more damage faster so every time something died he got the loot. When he was around I had to leave and find another spot because the guy had no online etiquette. That's just how people are. No amount of rules are going to fix bad people. They will always find a loophole. The devs will end up putting more time and energy into it than is necessary never pleasing everyone. Players might as well learn that when you are in a pve area the real monsters are jerks playing other characters.

If we had a cure for assholes the world would be a great place, unfortunately the world is full of them.

    • RE: Enough attackers / defenders during eclipses

Also have to remember that forum population is a very small percentage of how many will actually be playing the game. Only the devs will be able to give us the actual numbers by pulling data when the game goes live.

    • RE: This game will it be free to play someday?

I prefer the model it has now; buy the game and then you play for free. Free to play means tons of microtransactions all throughout the game. I don't mind cosmetic purchases but anything else will ruin the game for me.

It's amazing how some of the you tube people have turned their platforms into huge money making ventures. I've been backing D&D 5E books on kickstarter the past year. Matt Coville made so much on his first book he started a studio to make more. There's definitely potential there.

    • RE: Player generated quests (work orders)

I like the idea. As long as players are generating all the transferred items and not the game then I don't see a way to scam the system. Crafters could generate orders for materials. One way I could see a problem is if these items were transferred to another area. This would circumvent the idea of having to manually transport goods to a civilization unless the player had to drop them off where the order was placed.

    • RE: Houses in the wilderness

I think you guys are really overt thinking this. This all sounds like making the game more complicated than it needs to be. A house should be a house no matter where it is located. I also don't see a need for a building to have a quality rating. The devs would just be making their jobs harder if they had to track such statistics. IMO houses should all age deteriorate the same and refreshing them should be easy. If players have to spend a ton of time, energy and resources in the game to keep their houses from vanishing then where is the time to spend having fun in the game exploring?

    • RE: Houses in the wilderness

Maintenance should not be to the point that you feel like you are playing to keep your house. Personally I like UO's system where simply logging in kept your house secured. What about when you have to take an extended time away from the game such as for a vacation? I know we have the carpenter option is there anything else? If that costs real cash I can see people quitting over being forced to pony up money to keep their house from disappearing. I also don't feel any houses of the same type should be more expensive to maintain than another.

I do believe there was a thread trying to band the governor packs into forming something. Might check it out.

    • RE: Is Fractured going to be as grindy as say Wurm On-line?

Oh man nothing compares to grindy building like Life is Feudal lol. There were tons of resources that had to go into each wall segment. Before you could even start you had to level your ground. That even required moving dirt and rock. Some resources had to be moved from the mountains which meant alot of travelling. It would take 100s of those trips back and forth to the mountains. Resources were finite so if you ran out in one location you actually had to survey where you could find the resource again. Sometimes that meant building a new mine to get to the marble, stone, ore etc... We started out with about 8 guys working on the project of building our castle. A month later with guys working 4-8 hours a day we had about half of it done but were down to two of us. We gave up lol. Keep in mind you had to constantly replace tools which required our blacksmith making them nonstop. There also was no carts or magic to teleport around. You had to load up what you could carry and run with it back to the construction site. That in itself could take 10 minutes of just holding down a key. With that said I wouldn't complain about 2 hours. Sounds good to me 🙂

@Roccandil I would argue that crafting is going to be grindy lol. From what I could tell from building a house it seemed rather click intensive.

Isn't knowledge going to increase your stats? I thought I saw some bonuses from knowledge unlocks. However, the stats are capped at 25 right? That includes all outside bonuses from gear and knowledge? The knowledge to me is what sounds like the grind.

@asspirin Underground to me means something like the Underworld in D&D. An entire area that can be settled.
