    • RE: I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

If I go to any website for any game, I can pretty much navigate and figure out what this game is about. This website does not provide that.

I agree that on websites of other games you can find a lot of information "easier", but this game is currently in Pre - Alpha, nobody could care less about how the site is set up for the moment. When you go to it you get a very basic overview and you can then read more in the news section, which should not be hard to find once you realize there is not much else.

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

The wiki is non-existent for mechanics

hm? The wiki is not really a thing yet, because it is community made, but the game does not have players which are allowed to say / publish anything about the game yet.

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

The About -> Company is barebones with no reputable sources or projects ever made

Maybe because this company was created just for this game? 👀

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

The FAQ is completely demoralizing by 'promising' things that it isn't going to be(P2W)

In my opinion the FAQ holds every information you might ask a game about which is in it´s early stages.
Well, I guess a "timeline" somwhere would not hurt, but other than that.

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

Both of the Gameplay videos look like ass and show off nothing unique and lack any creativity

Well because they are only there to show the very basics of the game 👀
This game just startet out, what do you expect?

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

The screenshots showcase very rustic graphics, like really rustic, like 2006 games graphics. And- I don't usually care for graphics, I'll play 07Scape because it's a good game and the graphics match what I'm doing. But it's a big yikes from me when the game is looking to be a competitor with another game when it's 10 years in the past.

Well it´s a sandbox mmorpg created with Unity, all I expected where similar grafics as Albion Online, and we got that. Exceptional grafics is not what this game is about.

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

It looks like the ONLY thing that has any attention to it is the Leaderboards aka who spent the most money on a product that isn't even in Alpha yet.

Like @Jetah said... The Foundation is a system which rewards people who support the game, not through money, but with time and invenstment.

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

If you're actually serious as a company or dev, you can't be lazy

So... just because the website is not setup the way you would like it to be, the wiki is "not complete" and there are not any gameplay videos about a game that is in Pre - Alpha where the players have singed an NDA and the devs dedicate their time to make the game more enjoyable for peope in the Pre - Alpha / Alpha instead of needlessly investing into things which can be attended at a later date you think they are lazy / this game won´t turn out good? interesting 🤔

@shillver said in I want a new MMO to play and saw a review on this game.:

I shouldn't have to do massive research for what looks to be a $20 game. And just by doing so I've learned how this game is going to completely flop- because there are people out there with less time than me to go through the bullshit hoops to find out any mechanics of this game.

Well if you don´t even have time to read some parts of the News... what do you expect? A complete explanation of a game in one hour? What a shallow game would that be?

For me... for a game that is still in development, I am amazed at how much News (information about the game / where the game is heading) there are, which are much easier to find, than some other games which might even already be in beta.

Honestly I would count all current mobs as "normal" mobs, since you can easily kill them. At least bears, the black spiders and the black wolfs are easily soloable.

    • RE: Developer updates regarding game status?

@Tuoni said in Developer updates regarding game status?:

People are not discussing about anything which personally worries me a bit. Have players lost their interests or are they waiting for start of Alpha 1 to get more information about the game?

Well, I can´t speak for other people, for me it is just that most things have been discussed. I don´t have anything I want to talk about, if anyone else opens a nice / intersting post, I will take part, but other than that, I will just keep quiet until new info pops up.

Its hard for us to tell how many people are interested / actually active (people who may be interested but only make their daily post)... I guess most people are just waiting for Alpha1, which has been postopned a lot already, so I guess people being kinda inactive is not something to be surprised about. There also has not been "any" new information since like summer 2018?

@AfloatNeptune said in Plot Me System?:

I am sure that everyone who reads these forums has played one of the tests, and have experienced the issues with finding a place to build their house.

I have played in almost every test, but have not faced the issue with not finding a plot 👿

As this issue only is present because of the open test, of which there probably won´t be any more coming soon?, I don´t think anything needs to be done.

For possible upcoming open tests, or other big player increases like beta 2 and 1 I would guess additional continents / planets or the town system will be implemented by then, so that problem should not appear again.

In case the problem does arise, your idea sounds great! 🙂

    • RE: The current stats system is a turn off for the non dnd players.

Also in character creation you can already see which stats increase / decrease by adding / removing points of an Attribute.

It is the same as in the TSE character creator.

I have no information about D&D and was never involved with anything like it, but I have no problems understanding the stats in Fractured.

    • RE: Concerning Knowledge

      @Farlander said in Concerning Knowledge:

You are referring to the attributes, correct?

The link you posted is from the talent tree. You can unlock everything in the talent tree once you unlock enough talent points. You gain talent points by spending a fixed amount of knowledge points, which you can do at any point in time. You can read more about this in the Fractured Spotlight #3

Knowledge points are also used to learn new skills. Every character, independent of class, can learn all skills!

You can read detailed information about attibutes in the Fractrued Spotlight #5, in short...

There are the attributes (there are currently no plans to add additional ones):

      • STR (Strength)
      • DEX (Dexterity)
      • INT (Intelligence)
      • CON (Constitution)
      • PER (Perception)
      • CHA (Charisma)

There is no detailed information on what stats each attribute gives yet, but in the spotlight you can read an explanation and what you can expect to gain from each attribute e.g.: 497101ee-9c12-4478-9983-c927660de855-image.png

On character creation, as others have said, you will have to invest your so called creation points to level up specific attributes. Your character starts out with all attributes level 10, but you can lower the attribute to level 6. (If your attribute level is under 10, you start to suffer from some disadvantages e.g. STR increases your meele damage, so if you go under 10 we can assume your character will get some -% on meele damage as well as other deficits).

Leveling up an attribute does cost increased creation points with increased level, which you can see in this table:
      07028591-7ad3-4c33-bfaf-65cb2f189703-image.png

As you can see, attribute score / level 10 and 18 are marked. You already know why 10 is highlighted, 18 is highlighted because it normally is the max. level of the attributes. This cap can change according to your race and sub race:
      116a604d-e8fd-4882-b077-9cf4bd9b2450-image.png

Every race (except humans) has an affinity for a specific attribute, those are the attributes hightlighted in blue and with +3, which means you can level up the attribute to 18 + 3 which is lv 21 😉 . Leveling up an attribute your race has an affinity in also does cost less creation points (as you can see in table 1).
On the bottom of the table you can also see the amount of creation points you have. Since humans don´t have an affinity, they have additional creation points, so while they can´t be as good as other races in one specific area, you can make your character good in multiple areas 🙂

After you asign the creation points to attributes in the character creation, you can´t change them anymore in game, there are however possbilities to increase the level of attributes in game as well e.g. the talent tree, maybe from gear / consumables (even humans can reach the magical number of lv 20!).

    • RE: Concerns related to the attributes

@Manaia Let me start by saying my only post in this thread is:

@Eurav said in Concerns related to the attributes:

Pretty sure Jacopo mentioned in the last Q&A (or maybe the one before that), that everyone will get a free Attribute Reset and that Attribute Reset will be content of the Cash Shop. There will be a decent cooldown on the usage of that though 😉

We will be able to get additional Attribute Points through gear and the Talent Tree but I think they hard cap at 25?

The only concerns I currently have about the system would be wether it is too simple and that the Attribute Points one currently gets might be a bit too many.

And I voted in the poll for a "More sandbox based" game, so I don´t know how you came to the conclusion that I support your view 😄

@Manaia said in Concerns related to the attributes:

You've clearly not read my response I made to Tuoni regarding mega guilds "forcing" you to respec to how they want. Or peer pressure amongst any group of friends to have someone fit the role they want. Tuoni basically said "I don't care, so it's not a real issue." Are you saying that too? That if it doesn't impact you it's not a real possibility?

What I don´t really get about this, and what I think @Tuoni also already said... if there is peer pressure from the group / guild it does not matter if you have attribute respec or not. You can "respec" by simply creating a new character. So if a guild only wants "properly specced people" having Attribute Point resets or not does not matter, they can still pressure anyone for going for a good specced character... If anything it makes it easier to respec, so that you can join the guild you want without having to throw away all the progress you made with your first character.

Coming back to the poll, I don´t like it. The poll seems laid out to "trick" people into picking the "More RPG based" option. Character choices, immersion, consistency... are important, and they can exist in a "More sandbox based" game as well as in a "More RPG based" game.

I have seen you arguing about the ability to respec multiple times a day / respeccing to specific situations and that that would kill that the joice of Attribute Points matters, that it would kill immersion and I totally agree. I don't think anyone argued for having that.

I want to have Attribute Resets, but in a way that it does not destroy the game. So I think the one we get for free at the start is good, because nobody knows what he is doing then and would probably like to reset later at some point and I also think we need respecs later on. I think getting one respec for every significant patch could be an option, or just having it in the Cash Shop with a long enough cool down like two months e.g.. Then they could ofc also have a limited time of usage, so that you can´t store / collect them and "abuse" them. Although that would probably be a very minimal problem, to "abuse" that mechanic every six months or so :D. You could of course also have a limit of how often you can respec your character. There are many ways to prevent a "daily / situational respec".

I think having the option to reset the Attribute Points in Fractured is pretty important. As people already have said, it is important if specific playstyles get nerfed, or you just want to change your playstyle to something else, because you got sick of your old one. I think creating a new character in that case would not be an option for many people. The devs already said that gathering knowledge about skills will surely take multiple months. Having to throw away all that progress and create a new character (I am sure some people would not have problems with that, but I think most would.), suck it up that I can't change my playstyle or maybe even quitting the game seem like rather bad options to me.

    • RE: Trading As a Skill

      @boogis

First of all I want to admit that I did not 100% read and thought about everything you wrote, but here are my thoughts neverthenless.

@boogis said in Trading As a Skill:

How it work? Say you have 20 teirs of resourses of wood for example.

Resources don´t have any "quality" or "tier" system in Fractured. Resources only are either easy to get or rare to find. Also in crafting there is no tier system. If you craft a longsword with iron, you get a longsword whith properties from iron, if you craft it with wood you get a longsword with properties from wood (the quality or tier or whatever stays the same).

So, as far as I know, trading with other cities / player / guilds whatever is a necessity, but when you want to sell your resources, you sell them do an NPC, which then selles them to another player.

So going with the current system, a Trading skill, could maybe reduce the tax cost, maybe there is a limit on how much you can sell, which would be increased with the Trading skill, maybe something like that is already planned anyways.

I think there currently is not enough information yet on the trading system. I think your idea is very intersting, but wether it is worth considering or not, I think we should wait until it get´s more clear how the trading is currently envisioned in Fractured.

    • Will the Demons take over the Human world?

      Hey all,

In a Q&A it was said that it is planned, that Demons can join a Human Guild. So if a Demon gains enough Karma to be Neutral, he can go and live in the Human World. Can even join a Guild there.

As the Demon race is the PvP race, and generally Demons are meant to be stronger (not related to Fractured) than Humas, I would expect Demons to have better base combat stats then Humans.

So now... since Demons can just go and live in the Human world, while also having better combat stats, will there be Human Guilds, full of Demons, which win PvP events (sieges) because they are just stronger than Humans? Will we see Demon Guilds, (or Guilds led by one Human, full of Demons) dominate the Human world?

    • RE: Mail & COD

For me, sending items through mail does not fit with Fractured.

If you want to give an item to an alt / twink you can probably just put it in a chest in your house. Since the house is shared for all your characters I guess you can retrieve it without any problems.

Mail as in only text messages... I don´t know, I actually have never used the mail system in any game for that. Would not mind having it, but since the game has survival mechanics and is as realistic as you have to carry heavy items per hand, the mail would maybe need an actual implementation as well (letters bois, which then could also get lost during delivery... a heavy system for something probably not needed)
